Delta Upsilon dispute[edit]

When you describe other fraternities with words like "tyranny" I don't know what I should say to make it more clear to you that the point of view in the article is less than neutral. Good job editing so far. This article has come along way since I tagged it.

Orphaned non-free media (Image:DU badge.gif)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:DU badge.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 14:28, 24 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Technical corrections to candidate DU article[edit]

I see that you've got a new candidate article to replace the text at Delta Upsilon. On the whole, I agree with the replacement; I think the new article is a vast improvement. That said, there are a number of technical corrections I see that need made, such as:

  • Changing "Amongst" to "Among" in paragraph 3.
  • Removing the comma after "Prime Minster of Canada" in paragraph 3 and adding a space after the semicolon.
  • Under "Notable Brothers", changing the link to List of Delta Upsilon alumni.
  • Combining duplicate references using the <ref name="name_of_reference"> construction.

Please advise if you want me to make the changes now, wait until after the 16th, or provide you a longer list of things I've identified. —C.Fred (talk) 22:18, 9 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

DU Crest[edit]

The blue and yellow crest is not the correct colors. I am going to upload one that is in the correct colors of Old Gold and Sapphire Blue. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Martens173 (talkcontribs) 16:29, 15 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Non Free Images in your User Space[edit]

Hey there DUKyleXY, thank you for your contributions! I am a bot alerting you that Non-free files are not allowed in the user or talk-space. I removed some images that I found on User:DUKyleXY/Sandbox. In the future, please refrain from adding fair-use images to your user-space drafts or your talk page. See a log of images removed today here, shutoff the bot here and report errors here. Thank you, -- DASHBot (talk) 05:15, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Iowa State article[edit]

Thanks for joining the FLC discussion. I hope you don't mind me taking over the ISU list. It appeared you were near completion of the list but you had since been inactive on the article for close to two months. It didn't take too much work to get it to, hopefully, FL quality. So, well done.—NMajdantalk 14:38, 12 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest[edit]

If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. 67.180.84.52 (talk) 00:29, 23 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your concern, if you would be so kind as to point out what part of WP:COI you believe I am violating, I would be happy to address those issues. As it stands currently, I do not believe that my membership in Delta Upsilon precludes my involvement in editing of these articles as WP:COI is concerned. I am merely attempting to improve the articles. Thanks again, DUKyleXY (talk) 01:47, 23 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

American School in Rome[edit]

Thanks for letting me know! I checked the IP and I found that it is from the American School in Rome, so I marked it as such. I also left a message on the talk page stating that I knew it was a school IP, that it could be blocked for up to a year if vandalism persists, and that students and/or faculty could get in trouble based on the dates and times of vandalism edits. Heads up[edit]

I think that this might be ready for the main stream. Kevin Rutherford (talk) 04:22, 20 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That list is almost ready, there are a few dates and content pieces that should be verified and/or finished, but for the most part it is ready to go...I am currently out of the country for a few months with little time available to edit. In addition, most of my main source material is back in the states...when I have a chance, I will do what I can to update the list, thanks DUKyleXY (talk) 16:15, 20 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I saw that you still have User:DUKyleXY/List of Delta Upsilon alumni while List of Delta Upsilon brothers still exists. I'd suggest reviewing WP:UP#COPIES and consider merging the contents. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 23:09, 15 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for noting this page, I had forgotten that it existed. I have requested its deletion and removed its previous content for the current version. DUKyleXY (talk) 04:03, 16 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
