A tag has been placed on User:DJ Phantasy, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Drm310 (talk) 20:52, 2 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion[edit]

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... (the page is about myself... about my career. i have seen my name on this site many times but i do not have a page myself so therefore i helped create one. why would this be a problem. how can talking about my life and career be seen a unambiguous promotion? if thats the case then all of the information on this site should be removed because everything on here is regarding information that people want to know, in turn promoting that thing or person. please can you clarify...? ALSO, when i wrote the opening paragraph i copied the format that was made for my friend Carl Cox. so how it has been flagged straight away i doth understand. please advise) --DJ Phantasy (talk) 21:08, 2 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion[edit]

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... (I'm confused by this ? I've read your guidelines but do not understand what I've said that is wrong. can you clarify for me please? I've looked at many profiles on people and they seem to have the same content as i have?

i thought this wiki was for the people by the people? and a great source of information for people?? but this speedy deletion seems crazy...) --DJ Phantasy (talk) 21:15, 2 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

User pages are meant for very basic information about yourself and your activities relating to Wikipedia, but cannot contain any material that is self-promotional. If you've seen other self-promotional material, please point it out and someone will certainly be happy to review it too.
In the meantime, it might be beneficial for you to review Wikipedia's guidelines about conflict of interest, writing articles about yourself, and why an article about yourself isn't necessarily a good thing. --Drm310 (talk) 15:08, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
