Rune for Mac OS X

I have not found a source claiming that there was a release of Rune (computer game) for Mac OS X, only a petition in the official forums for one because there is none, thus I have removed the category that you added. -- Darklock 08:36, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

As a tracing, it seems to violate WP:FUC, criteria 4 and 10. It's also been obsoleted by two free images (criteria 1). I was clearly a too tired when I IfD'd it. If you agree to the deletion, I can just get it over with; otherwise, there's 48 hours until it will be deleted unless the problems are somehow corrected. -- Consumed Crustacean (talk) 15:56, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

Well, that should have gone into the nomination. No need to explain it here. Dread Lord CyberSkull ✎☠ 22:36, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
The uploader has to be notified before an image is deleted by the FUC criteria; the 48 hours starts following that. I wanted to get this image out before the rather persistant anony who has been readding it has a chance to do so again. -- Consumed Crustacean (talk) 02:02, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

Your RfA

I am sorry to inform you that your Request for Adminship (RfA) has failed to reach sufficient consensus for promotion, and has now been delisted and archived. Please do not look upon this outcome as a discouragement, but rather as an opportunity to improve. Try to address the concerns raised during your RfA and, in a few months' time, resubmit your request. Thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia in this capacity! Redux 01:54, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

Parameter "released" in Template:Infobox Software

Hi CyberSkull,
What is the parameter "released" in the Template:Infobox Software for? Do you use it anywhere? --- Best regards, Melancholie 21:45, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

For the initial release of the software. Dread Lord CyberSkull ✎☠ 22:19, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

Your image for it is opaque itself. You really should either make it transparent or use the other icon. It makes Wikipedia kinda look stupid. 216.40.239.144 22:50, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

The image is actually using a gradient background, the bottom right corner area is completely transparent. Dread Lord CyberSkull ✎☠ 22:52, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, but the other corners aren't. You see a white square around it on the template. 216.40.239.144 22:54, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
The gradient starts in the upper-left corner with a full opacity and ends in the lower-right corner with transparency. If you can't see it, stop using Internet Explorer. WikiMedia renders SVGs as PNG-24 files, something which IE has not had proper support for in the last 6 or so years. Dread Lord CyberSkull ✎☠ 22:58, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
FYI, I'm using Firefox. And yes, I see that the top left isn't and the bottom right is. What is the point of this exactly? 216.40.239.144 23:01, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
Aside from the irony, it's an illustration of why we should avoid certain types of images with opaque backgrounds. Dread Lord CyberSkull ✎☠ 23:16, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
(I'm the same person as before, but with a different IP) Oh, ok. Now I get it. Sorry to bother you. 207.218.205.228 00:08, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article list of online music databases, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at Talk:list of online music databases. You may remove the deletion notice, and the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. -- intgr 17:29, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

Since you were the one who uploaded the Frostwire logo, I thought I should ask your opinion on this before I did anything. Apparently, in a future release (perhaps the soon-to-come one), Frostwire is going to be using a new logo, less like Limewire's. The website already uses it, and the CVS on sourceforge includes it, at least in the Windows version. (Basically, it's a crystal-type blue circle with white stylized barbed wire on top of it.) Do you think this image should be uploaded now, or wait until it's officially released? (I can't find it in the CVS again, but here's the site version.) — SheeEttin {T/C} 23:43, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

Hi Cyberskull. I've been working with 6 other wikipedians to evolve a relatively standard format, and new infobox for typeface/font illustrations. Unspecified source for Image:Jared.png

Thanks for uploading Image:Jared.png. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kcossack 00:38, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

Bunny avatars

Hello, I was browsing through Category:Image copyright tags and noticed that Template:Bunny avatars was transcluded/linked only to Image:Bunny plain.jpg. It seems unnecessary to have a template for one usage, and the template has been around for quite a while, so I went ahead and substituted the template and then deleted it as cleanup. Fair use rationale for Image:Weird Worlds Return to Infinite Space.png

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Weird Worlds Return to Infinite Space.png. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. interwiki

Interwiki links for the computer and video game by year categories are handled by {cvg year interwiki}

They won't be, simply because the interwiki software (pywikipediabot) does not support such functionality. If you insist on using a template that is incompatible with the rest of the system, you have to deal with the consequences by hand. tsca @ 12:05, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
The template accepts the year as a parameter and inserts it into the link where appropriate. I'm just asking for the bots to ignore those categories and have the users update the templates. All of the CVG year categories use the template, so one edit updates them all. Dread Lord CyberSkull ✎☠ 14:00, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

To avoid a revert war, I wanted to explain why I had the two separate galleries on Corbinian. On Talk:We_Love_Katamari, you mentioned some browsers render unicode as punycode. Unspecified source for Image:Paranoia_Agent_Original_Soundtrack.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Paranoia_Agent_Original_Soundtrack.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use.

If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 12:59, 4 February 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sandstein 12:59, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

Hello; I saw your change to this template and wanted to ask you about it.

First off, I'm not very good with templates and apologize if, during the merge, I did something to break that template.

However, your attempt to fix that template does not seem to take into account that it has been merged and no longer applies soely to computer and video games.

It now categorizes all games, be they computer and video or board or card or whathaveyou, as computer and video games.

Since I obviously must have broken it in some way when I tried to fix that fact before, would you please fix it so that it does not automatically add all images tagged with it into a category that they may not belong to? Thank you. ~ ONUnicorn(Talk|Contribs)problem solving 19:29, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

The Great Dark Link war

Excuse me, Cyberskull. But you seem to be somewhat of an authority figure in the WikiProject Zelda arena. Well, it may have or may not have reached your attention, but a fellow by the name of A Link to the Past and I have been feuding about the merit of a Dark/Shadow Link page. I think there is enough relevent and non-speculatory information to make a page and he disagrees on the grounds that he does not beleive that that various Dark Links to be related. Now, I'm not here to whine to you, I'm just wondering how I may be able to get other project members involved. I only have one person other than us who has voiced an oppinion. I'd greatly appreciate it if you would post a reply on my userpage about this and put your oppinion in the battle that is ensuing in the talk page on the project page. and you can by all means and authorities delete this when you are done reading it. Orphaned fair use image (Image:Ccawards nomination banner2.png)

Thanks for uploading Image:Ccawards nomination banner2.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. An editor has nominated 2001 Web Cartoonist's Choice Awards, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Web Cartoonist's Choice Awards (2nd nomination) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. 2007 WCCA

Hi Cyber. If you haven't, you might like to check out the Outstanding Artwork ceremonies and then not mention them until we get our senses of humor about this whole mess back. --Kizor 02:24, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

I've nominated No Rest for the Wicked (webcomic), an article you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that No Rest for the Wicked (webcomic) satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion; I have explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/No Rest for the Wicked (webcomic) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of No Rest for the Wicked (webcomic) during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you.
