Welcome to Wikipedia and thanks for visiting my talk page. My name is Jim, and I edit here with the username of "Cullen328". I've been contributing to Wikipedia for 2-1/2 years now. I am an Online Ambassador, and I have offered to help students in your class. Please feel free to ask me any questions at all about editing Wikipedia.

There are many helpful resources available for new Wikipedia editors. One that I like is WP:PRIMER, which is a one-stop introduction intended to help newcomers to better understand the basics of Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. The best advice that I can give you to learn how to be a good Wikipedia editor is to actually edit articles, edit talk pages and edit your own user page. Add high quality references to articles, improve the accuracy and improve the prose, and everyone here will sing your praises. Feel free to visit my user page and my talk page, and feel free to ask any question at any time. Thank you. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 02:13, 18 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Article Ideas![edit]

  1. Research methods in Personality Psychology
  2. Person-situation debate page
  3. Positive perception of others as a personality trait

At first glance, it seems that Person-situation debate is the most promising, because it seems like a discrete topic in the history of psychology that is discussed specifically in quite a number of reliable sources. The other topics may lead you into the realm of original research or synthesis, so my preliminary recommendation would be the second topic. Please be aware that I have little to no expertise in this field, and so I am speaking strictly as a Wikipedia editor, and based on first impressions. Croweml11, let me know whether you are still interested in changing your topic, as you suggested in class. If you do switch, I believe the first one (Research Methods in Personality Psychology) would be the better choice, because the third one is new enough to be original research, as Cullen328 suggests. However, you might be able to change it to something broader that would be more general. Then you could include "Positive perception of others as a personality trait" as part of the broader topic. CEST is a great switch. It's a nice theory and is the right size for a page. William Fleeson (talk) 21:21, 27 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm glad you think so, I started worrying earlier today that maybe I should have run it by you first. Croweml11 (talk) 22:34, 27 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
