Duplicate images uploaded[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Liberman-Broadcasting-Tower-Era.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Editorial HD-Editorial-pages-Daily Pages-Shared Pages-pics for pages-Antenna-Liberman-antenna-for-web.jpg. The copy called Image:Editorial HD-Editorial-pages-Daily Pages-Shared Pages-pics for pages-Antenna-Liberman-antenna-for-web.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and remember exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 23:02, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:GDR.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:GDR.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 21:07, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Liberman-Broadcasting-Tower-Era.jpg[edit]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Liberman-Broadcasting-Tower-Era.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Shell babelfish 15:45, 6 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:Emyouthlogo.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Emyouthlogo.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 19:44, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Handbook of Texas at Navo[edit]

Thanks for the note! First off, let me note — the Handbook of Texas is not public domain; government-produced documents (except those produced by the federal government) are copyrighted, even though they're funded by taxes. If the Handbook really were public domain, I would not have removed the text, as it's quite valid; I've used the Handbook as a major source in several Texas articles. I take it that I confused you with "copyvio" — this is a common Wikipedia shorthand for "copyright violation", which copy/pasting from the Handbook is.

The reason that I simply removed the text is that I was busy when I discovered it in passing, and I didn't have time to rewrite it. I encourage you to rewrite the Handbook text and restore it to the article: since rewriting it avoids copyright problems, there's no problem with a rewritten text. Nyttend (talk) 20:41, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Fair use of Handbook of Texas[edit]

Hello. You left this comment on my talk page "My taxes pay for it. Why shouldn't we be able to cite information from the Handbook, with proper references?" I never reverted or removed any Handbook of Texas references from any pages that you have edited. In fact, I use the Handbook as one of my main references when writing articles on small and unincorporated Texas towns. --Acntx (talk) 15:41, 26 July 2009 (UTC).[reply]

I see from the previous comment on this page that the situation has been resolved.

Possibly unfree File:Hamblen-Stuart.gif[edit]

A file that you uploaded or altered, File:Hamblen-Stuart.gif, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files because its copyright status is unclear or disputed. File:Tom Pauken headshot.jpg listed for deletion[edit]

A file that you uploaded or altered, File:Tom Pauken headshot.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Sven Manguard Wha? 05:53, 13 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Tom Pauken.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. File permission problem with File:High-resolution photo portrait of Tom Pauken from circa 2008.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:High-resolution photo portrait of Tom Pauken from circa 2008.jpg, which you've attributed to Leslie Tarpinian http://www.tompaukenfortexas.com/press/. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Dianna (talk) 07:03, 24 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Notification of automated file description generation[edit]

Your upload of File:Bush-Register.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. Matt Mackowiak moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Matt Mackowiak, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. 1292simon (talk) 09:37, 25 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Matt Mackowiak[edit]

Hello, Creton4. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Matt Mackowiak".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! UnitedStatesian (talk) 05:39, 26 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
