Flora Sandes images

Hi, Cow foot. Well done on the Flora Sandes article by the way, I think it's going to be great. As for the pictures, I'm afraid I can't give much help. I find it a little confusing too. I'm not sure whether or not the copyright on any of these pictures will have expired. I don't know if these will be of any help: Wikipedia:Copyrights, Wikipedia:FAQ/Copyright, Wikipedia talk:Copyrights, Wikipedia talk:FAQ/Copyright. If none of these pictres are considered free, (ie. they are non-free) then I think that one picture would probably be permissible in the article, as long as it has a proper fair use rationale. If that's the case, I can help you with a rationale. It can be argued that if there are no free images of Sandes, and no hope of getting any since she is dead, that a non-free picture could be used in the article. Anyway, I suggest maybe asking someone at one of the talkpages above or at the Wikipedia:Image copyright help desk. --BelovedFreak 14:53, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

Ok, well if you choose one picture you want to keep, I will help you with the rationale. Shouldn't be a problem. By the way, don't forget to sign your messages on talkpages, by putting 4 tildes (like this: ~~~~). That will make your name & a timestamp appear. Oh and also, as you're creating articles (and I like the ones you've started so far by the way!) try & provide at least 1 reference to start with, and make it clear why the subject is important. Of course, it doesn't have to be a perfect article straight away, not by a long shot, but if it isn't immediately clear that the subject is notable and verifiable, with links to reliable sources, new articles often risk getting speedily deleted. I picked the one of Flora with her medal, when she was younger. I've filled in a fair use rationale, which will hopefully do the trick. I also made the image a lower resolution, as that's more acceptable. I don't know where you scanned the image from, so could you go to the image page and fill in the name of the book under "Source"? And don't worry, wikipedia can be very confusing at first, but you'll soon get the hang of it.--BelovedFreak 15:49, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
