Hello! CountyCountry, you are invited to the Teahouse, a forum on Wikipedia for new editors to ask questions about editing Wikipedia, and get support from peers and experienced editors. Please join us! Pharaoh of the Wizards (talk) 19:56, 28 July 2018 (UTC)

Thank you for your edits to San Diego County, California. You appear to be using original research, or relying on information found in other Wikipedia articles, as you add and remove unincorporated communities. I've tried to pick through your changes but it would be much easier if you could just check your edits using GNIS. Typically, places listed as a "local" are not added to Wikipedia as unincorporated communities, but places listed as a "populated place" are added as unincorporated communities (though this isn't a hard rule). Thanks for your help with this. Magnolia677 (talk) 20:45, 28 July 2018 (UTC)

Your addition of remix EPs to The Chainsmokers discography

The reason why most discographies don't (or won't) list remix EPs is because of what I said in my edit summary. "Remix EP"s are released as part of a single's promotional campaign. They are essentially just extended versions of singles branded as EPs because of their length; the same has been done for decades with 12-inch vinyls full of remixes sent to clubs being called "EPs". The EPs listed on discographies generally contain new material at the time they're released. I'm sorry you worked for a while on the content, but they have been removed before. If you think they should be included, please open a discussion and get consensus on Talk:The Chainsmokers discography. Thanks. Ss112 08:00, 21 September 2019 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for November 3

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Everyday Life (Coldplay song), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page John Metcalfe (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

RE: Your edits on singles; please follow WP:BRD

Your edits in regards to "I think this song is a single" are getting rather concerning. You were reverted on Jonas Brothers discography when you called "Greenlight" a single, and you reverted the person that reverted you, despite the fact that the burden is on you to prove your point (per WP:BURDEN) and open a discussion when someone takes issue with your change (WP:BRD). You do not keep reverting. Looking through your recent edits, this seems to be an ongoing thing for you. On Sunsets & Full Moons, you gave the edit summary "Why? It seems like a single to me". Seeming like something to you is not good enough. Provide sources for your edits, open a discussion on the article talk pages, and don't revert editors again when you've been reverted. You repeatedly talk about what "sources" have said but you never provide any. Not good enough. Start providing some, start opening talk page discussions to achieve consensus for your contentious changes (as you should already be doing) or you will find yourself reported to an administrator for repeated additions of unsourced content and edit warring. Thank you. Ss112 18:51, 11 November 2019 (UTC)

And again, these edits regarding remixes. You still don't know the conventions around them. An artist like Diplo remixing another artist's song does not mean we put it as part of Diplo's chronology. Producers do this all the time. Their singles tables should mostly be original singles (there are exceptions, but this is not one of them). Similarly, the Chainsmokers releasing remixes through their SoundCloud a) doesn't make them singles, but also b) is a common thing that we do not put in their singles wikitables. Ss112 19:00, 11 November 2019 (UTC)
I apologize for causing a concern. I will make sure to provide sources and have a discussion when something like this happens. You have also mentioned that there are some exceptions regarding having remixes in the singles table. What are these exceptions? CountyCountry (talk) 01:57, 12 November 2019 (UTC)
  • I am not going to leave another cordial message on your talk page about this. When you have been reverted, you go to the talk page and start a discussion per WP:BRD. You do not revert again, whether directly or indirectly, even if you believe you are right, especially over something as irrelevant as order of singles. You are fast becoming the new Billiekhalidfan, and now that they are blocked indefinitely, you should let that be a cautionary tale. We do not need another editor who hunts around on pop music topics on Wikipedia every day making contentious changes according to what they believe is right. You need to slow down, start discussing more (even before you've made the edit) and getting consensus for contentious changes or you will find yourself brought to the attention of an admin. Ss112 06:30, 16 November 2019 (UTC)
I did have a discussion about this at Talk: Liar (Camila Cabello song). CountyCountry (talk) 06:48, 16 November 2019 (UTC)

Celine Dion singles

Hi. "Flying on My Own" was never promoted by Dion or her label as a single or promo single. It was a gift for the fans as she wanted celebrate the end of Las Vegas residency. It wasn't sent to radio and in June 2019, it wasn't even clear if this song will end up on the upcoming album. So, I have changed infobox in the "Flying on My Own" article to a song, and reverted your edit in the singles disography. "Flying on My Own" is in the "Other charted songs" section. By the way, Dion doesn't have a real promotional singles section like few other artists. In her article there are just few "minor" promos, released in one country, very rare, and non-charting.

As for your other edits, I'm talking about making "Courage" a single, I don't know... Articles often carelessly use word single instead of a song, when something is released. Does it mean that it is a single? "Imperfections" was sent to the US/Canadian/Belgian/Italian radio, which is sourced. "Lying Down" was sent to the UK/Finnish radio, which is also sourced. Do you have any source which says that "Courage" was sent to radio? Dion herself or her website doesn't call it a single. Max24 (talk) 20:56, 17 November 2019 (UTC)

Hi, Max24. "Flying on My Own" is a promotional single. It is not a proper single like you stated, and her label calls it a gift, and that it's not an official single. In that case, it's not just a "song" because "Flying on My Own" was not released along with the album. It's a promotional single. The word "song" is used to label songs that are not singles and are released along with the album. As for "Courage", reliable sources don't misuse the word "single". I do have a source that it was released to the radio. [1] CountyCountry (talk) 20:33, 17 November 2019 (UTC)
The sorce says about the album Courage, not a single Courage :) Max24 (talk) 20:56, 17 November 2019 (UTC)
Oops, I misread it. CountyCountry (talk) 20:36, 17 November 2019 (UTC)
I will bring back "Flying on My Own" in its article to promo, but we will leave it in other chared songs on the dispography page, as Celine doesn't have a real promotional singles section. I will work on it later. As for "Courage" I won't revert your edits for now, but it would be good to have any source confirming it is/will be promoted to radio anywhere :) Max24 (talk) 21:43, 17 November 2019 (UTC)

November 2019

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Sam Smith discography. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Ss112 07:32, 25 November 2019 (UTC)

Please stop your disruptive editing.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Selena Gomez discography, you may be blocked from editing. Ss112 07:33, 25 November 2019 (UTC)

@Ss112: Look at the talk pages for the "Look at Her Now" and "I Feel Love" articles. CountyCountry (talk) 07:39, 25 November 2019 (UTC)
I'm sorry, where has the consensus been reached on either of those? Read WP:CONSENSUS. You having an idea and proposing it doesn't mean you then get to change it. Ss112 07:40, 25 November 2019 (UTC)
Pretty sure that there was consensus in the "Look at Her Now" article. CountyCountry (talk) 08:07, 25 November 2019 (UTC)
Yeah, no, that was not consensus. I am sick and tired of coming across you editing pop music articles to remove what you personally don't think are singles every single day. Is this all you contribute to Wikipedia? Because it seems like it. Why don't you create articles? Why don't you do something more constructive instead of getting involved in contentious topics like this that are going to constantly land you in trouble? And don't say you don't think it's controversial, because this has been raised with you multiple times by myself alone, and you have been reverted by editors all across the music editing spectrum. It's time for you to stop and start proposing changes on the talk page and get a formal consensus, or you will end up just another blocked editor. Ss112 08:48, 8 December 2019 (UTC)
@Ss112: Not every edit needs consensus first to be published. In this case, there wasn't a previous consensus, and there wasn't a dispute whether that song was a single or not. Also that song was just released two days ago; it is not like it was released weeks ago. There was another editor that changed another song from a single to a promo single in the same article around one or two days ago without incident. I don't know why you're too focused on my edits.CountyCountry (talk) 08:56, 8 December 2019 (UTC)
I literally haven't messaged you in two weeks, so I don't know where you're getting the idea I'm "too focused" on you from. I also never said an editor needed to propose every single of their edits on the talk page. That would be silly. But when your edits are contentious and of the same kind—reclassifying songs as singles according to your own criteria—and have been challenged many times, I would think you'd be proposing your idea of what's a single and what's not on the talk page before continuing to do so. An admin even told you so below, but you've chosen to ignore their advice. Great attitude. Looks like you're going to land yourself in constant conflict with other editors, probably get involved in an edit war, blocked. It's whatever, remain ignorant. Ss112 10:00, 8 December 2019 (UTC)
@Ss112: Makes no sense. The songs that I moved that you just reverted were songs that were released just recently and were added to the "Manic" article recently. The songs that I changed weren't songs that were listed as singles for weeks or months. There is nothing wrong with changing it to a promotional single once on a song that was just released. If after one or two reverts from another editor, then I would create a discussion, which I have done so already on other articles. This is common practice on Wikipedia articles. But, if I see a single that I believe to be misplaced and has been so for many months or years, then I would first create a discussion before making any edits. And no, I did not choose to ignore the admin. There wasn't any previous consensus or discussion on the matter because the song was just released. There weren't any previous disputes on this. And no, I don't edit war. CountyCountry (talk) 10:45, 8 December 2019 (UTC)
It doesn't matter what the specifics of this album and its singles is, the point is you're still getting involved in the same content disputes about what is and is not a single. Also, I don't need to keep being pinged. Ss112 11:31, 8 December 2019 (UTC)
I've seen other editors change a newly released song from a single to a promotional single or vice versa with no dispute following, and that is when you know there's consensus—when no one reverts your edit in a long time. I have seen this done on numerous articles on songs that weren't released too long ago. And considering that another one of her newly released song, "Suga's Interlude", was changed to a promo song on both the album page and her discography two days ago, and so far there have not been any reverts, I don't see how my edit would make a dispute because the song I changed, "Finally//Beautiful Stranger", was released in the almost same way as "Suga's Interlude". And I was not sure if you would see my responses if I didn't ping you. I won't ping you anymore. CountyCountry (talk) 17:19, 8 December 2019 (UTC)

Unilateral Changes

I Feel Love is a promo single

You’re right, Sam never said it was a single, just a cover... it wasn’t even pushed anywhere HengeBoy (talk) 19:08, 25 November 2019 (UTC)

“I Love You” edit summary

In your summary for your first edit to “I Love You (Billie Eilish song)”, you said it’s not notable enough. It is though. Billie Eilish is famous, and it peaked at number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 CheatCodes4ever (talk) 07:31, 11 December 2019 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for December 14

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Falling (Trevor Daniel song), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Idolator (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver).

Your edits to Future Nostalgia (song) and Dua Lipa's articles

I will say, I saw this just earlier and I believe you're actually in the right/right in this instance. KHBritish is the one who changed the article from it originally saying the song was a single (and it was classified as a single at Future Nostalgia (Dua Lipa album) and Dua Lipa discography). KHBritish is the one who should be discussing it, as should Mikgregor if they disagree with you restoring the article the way it was. Ss112 08:14, 18 December 2019 (UTC)

KHBritish did create a discussion in the song article's talk page. We came to the conclusion that it is a promotional single because Dua Lipa said that it wasn't a single in her own words. CountyCountry (talk) 16:14, 19 December 2019 (UTC)

Final warning before you're reported

This is the last time I'm warning you: Get a formal consensus before changing whether a song is a single or not. You having a conversation with one other editor or even two on Talk:Look at Her Now is by no definition a consensus. You are annoying, and disruptive, and you still don't get what a WP:CONSENSUS is. You honestly think having a conversation with somebody makes a consensus. Get real. Next time you are being reported to an admin and I will not stop until they take notice and issue you a final warning or block you. Stop involving yourself in contentious areas or I promise you you risk being blocked. Ss112 12:08, 25 December 2019 (UTC)
