I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Carolina Productions, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at its talk page. Removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, but the article may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. I have added my "OPPOSE" to the deletion page, you might want to defend your own article and find some more people to help save it. If you go to the talk page you will see my personal reasons for helping out :-) RoyBatty42 18:49, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I love how wikipedia doesn't always notify you of changes to articles on your watch list. I never got a notice that it had in fact been deleted. Simple enough to change - just re-create it. I've found that there are several busy bodies that just randomly pick articles they stumble across or have recently been created to see if they can get them deleted if they fail their own "sniff test" for being worthwhile. Me, I'm of the opinion that as long as an article is written in the proper format, is free of Original Research (OR) and POV, subjective writing, and has proper sourcing it should be included. That to me is the beauty of having an internet based encyclopedia: it can include pretty much everything. Plus, I used to be the chair of Cinematic Arts LOL RoyBatty42 18:56, 27 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Careful, I also wrote film reviews for The Daily Gamecock. To let you know how long ago that was, one of them was for The Untouchables. In fact, one of my committee members just emailed me on Sunday to wax nostalgic about the Oscar party I had at my house that very year, which was, ahem, 20 years ago. Not sure how things are now, but back then we were one of only a handful of campuses left in the country that was still doing a full 7 day schedule of films. Let's see if I can remember - Monday and tuesday, free (mostly classics), Wednesday and Thursday foreign and/or "art house" (now "independent"); Friday thru Sunday new blockbusters that paid for the rest along with the obligatory midnight films on Friday and Saturdays. Our offices were in the Russell House, just next to the theater entrance. I spent most of my free time there. Only back then, it was called the Carolina Program Union, or CPU. Orphaned fair use image (Image:Carolina Productions Logo.png)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Carolina Productions Logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 18:05, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikimania in Atlanta![edit]

Hi! I noticed your involvement on U.S. South-related articles, categories and WikiProjects, and I wanted to let you know about a bid we're formulating to get next year's Wikimania held in Atlanta! If you would like to help, be sure to sign your name to the "In Atlanta" section of the Southeast team portion of the bid if you're in town, or to the "Outside Atlanta" section if you still want to help but don't live in the city or the suburbs. If you would like to contribute more, please write on my talk page, the talk page of the bid, or join us at the #wikimania-atlanta IRC chat on freenode.org. Have a great day!

P.S. While this is a template for maximum efficiency, I would appreciate a note on my talk page so I know you got the message, and what you think. This is time-sensitive, so your urgent cooperation is appreciated. :) Mike H. I did "That's hot" first! 03:47, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
