Anarchopedia[edit]
Hi,
First, a minor technical point: Yours was the only signed keep comment -- because the other keep commenter failed to sign his remark, I am free to discount it. That is not, however, why I found a deletion consensus -- remember AfD is not a "vote" in the strict sense, anyway; closers are empowered to weigh arguments. In this case, those favoring retention were quite poor, sadly. Your own remark referenced only pages within Anarchopedia and Wikipedia as sources: such self-references are deprecated by WP:RS. A verifiable article simply must have independent sources. The arguments of your unsigned fellow keep commenter were even further off the mark. Anarchopedia cannot be given a "pass" on the five pillars of Wikipedia because it is novel, noble, or a kindred wiki. Such an argument is exactly the opposite of policy here at Wikipedia, and only served to weaken the case for retaining the article. Put as simply as I can, there were no relevant arguments given in support of keeping the article. I'm sorry, but the decision was "open-and-shut" from a policy point-of-view, given the nature of the discussion in the record.
The place to present a request for appeal of the AfD is Deletion Review. You are free to go there and state a case, but I feel my closure was on very solid ground. I'm sure it goes without saying that I have nothing personal at stake here (I just "call them as I see them", as the saying goes) and I wish you good luck. Hello, I recently reverted your edit to Criticism of Windows Vista, as it appears that you added a new section header without any content. Since you have edited other pages since then, I assume you are not going to add content, so this section was removed. If you do have content to add, please add it along with the header. Criticism of fractional reserve...[edit]
- Thanks for your comments. I will take a crack at cleaning it up. I'll take your comments into consideration and please give feedback. One issue was that it said "also," frequently, and the spelling was quite bad. I will admit to perhaps acting quickly on reverts on that page, which come primarily from a noted sockpuppet, and my apologies if your comments did not get due consideration due to my itchy trigger finger (as a result of the atrocious history there). - I should note that from the beginning, I thought this article shouldn't exist and should be deleted. Since it remained, the main issue was reducing the amount of soapboxing and providing some balance.
