Well definitely not (removal of Harry Potter articles from WikiPedia)! WP needs HP. It would be boring here otherwise. It is a good getaway from all the politics and junk. Blocked for... trolling?[edit]

Can anybody tell me what's going on here? I've been blocked for "trolling" even though I'm not a troll. I'm confunded. Chosen One 11:14, 2 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The majority of your edits seem to be an inappropriate VfD nomination and roleplaying on user talk pages. (cf. Wikipedia:Userpage#What_should_I_avoid.3F: Games, roleplaying sessions, and other things that fall into "entertainment" rather than "writing an encyclopedia," particularly if they involve people who are not active participants in the project.)

It appears that Mikkalai blocked User:Draco Malfoy and User:Albus Dumbledore at the same time that you were blocked, to put a stop to whatever was going on. While your userpage and Drako Malfoy's were deleted, Albus Dumbledore's gives a hint as to what was up. By convention, editing others' user pages (not user talk pages, but their user pages) is something that is avoided. Editing a user page to bait someone, ridicule them, or otherwise get a rise out of them (Example: [1]) might be seen as trolling. I can only speculate at this point what was on your user page and Drako Malfoy's, but presumably it was even farther afield for it to have been deleted.

Looking at your edit history, it would be easy to get the impression that you are not here to contribute to an encyclopedia but to stir up and engage other users in some sort of impertinent activity -- perhaps this is what led to your activities being classified as "trolling"?

If that is the case, then you should have User:SPUI blocked for doing this edit to User:Severus Snape's talk page. Would you do this? I think not. Firstly, it's because he edits a wider range of topics, something I chose not to do in favor of one topic (Harry Potter), and secondly, it's because he's been here a long time. Also, if you would look a little more carefully and closely at my edits, you will see that not a single one was done in bad faith. As to my user page, it contained nothing but the innocent sentences: "Hi! I'm the Chosen One! I chose to hang out in the Harry Potter Wiki instead of here." or something close to that but no offensive material of any sort. Looking at my edits, I find nothing of the sort that would make me believe that User:Chosen One was trying to disrupt the system. I still find the block unjust, and will be filing a complaint at WP:AN/I once I am unblocked. This is a case of an innocent person being accused wrongly, and it must not remain that way. Sticking my nose in here — I don't believe for one second this user is trolling. S/he is a regular contributor on the Harry Potter Wikicity and I don't believe any edit s/he's made over here have been inappropriate. As far as the roleplaying thing on talk pages, if you're going to block this user for that, you'll have to block me and User:Lord Voldemort for the same thing, but I do believe we do have some decent contributions to our names. It'd be highly inappropriate if I were a female and took a username used by Harry Potter, Anakin Skywalker, and Frodo Baggins, wouldn't it? Thanks again for filing the complaint. It'll do until I'm up and about and ready to defend my name and my dignity. To be frank, I'm starting to think that accusing a non-troll for trolling might indeed be called trolling, couldn't it?
