Gang lists[edit]

Chicagoism, thank you for your recent contributions! You seem to have intricate knowledge about Chicago street gangs, so your input to articles such as Folk Nation and Gangs in Chicago is invaluable. Just be aware that Wikipedia refers to this kind of knowledge as original research. This simply means, that while the information might be 100% correct, it cannot be verified by readers who don't possess the same knowledge that you have. And as a result of that, any editor can come along and remove the content at any time, as it is considered unsourced. So therefore, I went ahead and added some references and changed some of your red links into blue links. But in the future, strive to only add entries to these lists that already have their own article. Or if you think you can, try creating new articles for them (here's one that I created—you can too!) If you have any questions about any of this, you can ask me right below this line, and I will try to answer. Happy continued editing, StonyBrook babble 16:39, 11 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate the recognition, StonyBrook. I am an independent photojournalist based in the south side of Chicago and I have many resources at my disposal on the history of Chicago-based street gangs. I am currently compiling a list of several reputable resources by other journalists for the sole purpose of citing them here. I have much work to do and will dedicate more time to Wikipedia in the near future. Chicagoism (talk) 15:35, 6 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
