Stub tags[edit]

Hi there! I see that you've been adding text to your articles indicating that they're stubs. Generally, the {{stub}} tag is used for this, because the template automatically adds it to the stub category, reminding people to try to expand it. Also, you might want to consider placing a more-specific tag on it: for example, I replaced the stub tags on the SIR stations with {{NewYork-railstation-stub}}, which again has its own category. The various types of existing stubs are listed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Stub types. Have fun!--SarekOfVulcan (talk) 16:22, 19 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Grand Avenue (BMT Myrtle Avenue Line) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the article or have a copy emailed to you. 99 Street (IRT Third Avenue Line)[edit]

Some of the recent New York City Subway articles you created (like 99 Street (IRT Third Avenue Line) have been modified per Wikipedia:Manual of Style. Would you please take a look and pattern any other similar articles after them. Thanks. Truthanado (talk) 03:10, 25 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A cleanup tag has been placed on some articles as a reminder. Truthanado (talk) 03:37, 25 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please hold on a sec[edit]

Thanks for your enthusiasm for contributing to Wikipedia. However, you are creating a whole lot of articles that do not really meet the Wikipedia guide for style very well. Please, take a second and learn the writing style we try for here, including how to use tags (rather than just writing about references and stubs at the bottom of the article) before adding more articles. FlyingToaster 04:16, 25 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: writing style, at a mimimum, please take the time to add {{unreferenced}} and {{stub}} tags to your entries instead of the plain text substitutions. Also note that numbers under 12 should be spelled out, as in "two tracks" and not "2 tracks". -- btphelps (talk) (contribs) 05:36, 25 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Subway articles[edit]

Hi there. You may want to join a discussion of the article about defunct stations at WT:NYCPT#IRT Second Avenue Line article creation. Many editors who have worked on subway articles in the past believe that these articles ought to be deleted, because there is no reasonable chance that they will ever evolve past their current stub status. Please feel free to join the discussion of you feel differently. Marc Shepherd (talk) 20:45, 25 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

175 of your articles have been nominated for deletion[edit]

See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Court Street (BMT Fulton Street Line). Please stop creating new articles until you have participated in discussion. Otherwise, you are making a lot of work for other people. You have never left a Talk comment or an edit summary. If you keep creating articles without discussion, it is possible that you will be blocked from editing. See WP:Disruptive editing. EdJohnston (talk) 18:31, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

FWIW, all the articles were kept at the afd. DGG (talk) 19:31, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Terminal C (AirTrain Newark station) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. - 2 ... says you, says me 21:11, 7 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
