Statustop template: alternate updating method

SoxBot V has been taken offline indefinitely, therefore {{Statustop}} now uses a semi-manual updating method taking the status from Special:Mypage/Status. You can use the Qui monobook script written by TheDJ to update this page at the click of a button.

Certain parameters are no longer used, so you may wish to check the documentation of the Statustop template to ensure you are using it properly. Please feel free to drop by my talk page with any questions or concerns or to report problems with the template. Happy editing, xenocidic ( talk ¿ listen ) 14:00, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Hello, Chantessy, I saw that you recently nominated Vampire literature for Good Article with the comment "Currently assessed as B-Class. Found this to be as comprehensive as a GA but may need a little more improvement in grammar checks." Although I agree that it definitely requires grammar checking, what is missing from the article (and what will keep it from being promoted to GA-status) is a satisfactory number of references. I was tempted to fail the article's candidacy, but I thought it better to advise you to withdraw your nomination for the time being. As it stands now, vampire lit does not fulfill the good article criteria because of its lack of verifiability. Far more references are required in order to make sure it is factually accurate. The article has a lot of potential, and I found it an interesting read as well, but more work is needed. Sometimes withdrawing a nomination is better than letting it fail because that fail remains in its history. Just a suggestion, and if you have any questions let me know. Take care, María (habla conmigo) 19:45, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

Sure, you may. I stole it myself from another user. chantessy 21:24, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

just curious, I guess

Why don't you like keeping your user page history around? –xenocidic (talk) 13:46, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

I don't want to have too many trivial edits in my edit count, so it just adds to the deleted edits. I feel like I've wasted edits by editing my user page too much. chantessy 13:48, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
understandable. you don't want your EC padded by userpage edits =) (I used to spend entirely too much time on mine as well, was even brought up in my RFA!) –xenocidic (talk) 13:50, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
Is your name from Orson Scott Card's Xenocide? (part of the Ender and Shadow/Bean books) chantessy 22:48, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
Yes, it's a derivative word =). (The name actually got me some neutrals/opposes on my RFA, if you can believe it - see User talk:Xenocidic/RFA#Potential for username to be divisivexenocidic (talk) 22:58, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

Hello, I've noticed the new details that you've added to Edward Cullen's article, regarding his character development. I really like what you've added, but do you have a reference for it? I'd hate to lose the addition, but I haven't been able to find a source for it myself, so it seems like original research at this point. Thanks! Andrea (talk) 01:54, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

Notability of Confide

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Confide, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Confide seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Confide, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Pfft. Whatever. Don't care. I've long forgotten about all those... chantessy 17:41, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

Trace Cyrus

You added that his middle name is Dempsey. Now a new user is protesting that it is Timothy. Please provide a reliable source on his middle name, or else I might challenge it by removing it. I'm not calling you a liar, just asking for a source. Royalbroil 02:07, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

In Miley Cyrus' Breakout album's liner notes, she refers to her older half brother as Tracey Dempsey Cyrus...? chantessy 14:26, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Good enough for me. Please add a cite that it appears in her liner notes to the article (including the name of the album). His article gets all kinds of unsourced additions. Royalbroil 14:43, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
