Greek American actors, Jewish-American singers

Hi these categories have been nominated for deletion. If you are interested in keeping them please vote here Wikipedia:Categories for deletion/Log/2006 January 11. Regards Arniep 22:20, 14 January 2006 (UTC)

I don't want to keep them. User:Carie

Child actors

Since I edit a few of them, I've noticed you're removing "Child actors" as a category in favor of "American child actors". Given the likely commonality of searches under the former, shouldn't appropriate articles include both? RadioKirk talk to me 00:12, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

The keywords "child actors" are included in "American child actors", so it should register in searches. Also child actors links to Child actors by nationality, which links to American child actors. Carly 00:14, 17 January 2006 (UTC)
Okay. RadioKirk talk to me 00:16, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

Please don't use POV categories such as "murdered children". User:Zoe|(talk) 03:27, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

I was not being POV. Isn't the def. of murder, a person being killed by another person? User:Carie 12:22, 17 January 2006 (UTC)
...with the attempt to cause bodily harm.. we're not yet sure if the cop intended to murder him, so... thanks for removing it. User:Carie 12:34, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

Sort order

Hi, I saw you've been working with the categories. Thanks for doing that. In one instance I'm not sure you understand how the category sort key works. for Prussian Blue (American duo) you had, (for example):

  • [Category:American child singers|Gaede,Lynx and Lamb]

If you go to Category:American child singers, you'll see that the article is now alphabetized under "G", but it's still called "Prussian Blue (American duo)". The category sort key does not change the name of the article, only how it is sorted. It is very helpful to sort articles with regular names by the last name, but in this case it's just odd. I hope that makes the situation clear. Cheers, -Will Beback 19:04, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

Prematurely deceased entertainer categories

Hi. FYI, folks are trying again to delete the prematurely deceased entertainer categories at Wikipedia:Categories for deletion/Log/2006 January 17#Entertainers who died.... Books

Please don't add links to specific booksellers when linking a book. Wikipedia:External links#What should not be linked to:

Bookstores. Use the "ISBN" linking format which gives readers an opportunity to search a wide variety of free and non-free book sources.

The ISBN code will take care of the rest. Thanks, -Will Beback 00:39, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

Living people

What's the reason for this category? You want list in it ALL living people with a Wikipedia article? Seems a bit meaningless... let me know, and good work. Attilio

This image may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:JonBenét_Ramsey.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. American Idol

Hi! This message is regarding the American Idol stubs you create. As far as I know there is a precedent that these people do not deserve own articles in Wikipedia. Please consider making them redirects to the appropriate Idol seasons. Punkmorten 13:56, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

Ok. I will redirect them to the American Idol (Season x) articles if they cannot be expanded any further. --User:Carie 13:57, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

My userpage

I do not need you to post personal info on my user page. Please refrain from doing so unless I specifically ask you to do so. --TML1988 22:43, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

You tagged this page for speedy deletion with the reason "There are not a lot of images", but "There are not a lot of images" is currently not one of our criteria for speedy deletion. Please review that page before tagging a page for speedy deletion, or use WP:CFD to nominate a category for standard deletion.

Alternatively, as you are the only person to have edited the page, you can tag it with {{db-author}} if you created it by mistake and want it deleted. Stifle 17:20, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

AI, and the clothes in the museum

Carie, I'm sorry about trampling over your edit -- I didn't realize that you were still editing the Clay Aiken article when I moved your new sentence -- I'm going to put it back and quietly slink off into the shadows. ArglebargleIV 23:36, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

I moved the new sentence to "charitable work". I originally had it in "post-idol", but decided to move it to "charitable work". --User:Carie 23:41, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

Lisa Tucker on Myspace

I'm not sure if an external link to Lisa's Myspace is very useful. Although I don't know the precedent, what does it accomplish? I suppose it is a forum that she's able to edit and what not, so it is fact checked by the notable figure.. I knew Lisa years ago and if this is going to be opened up for discussion, I could ASK if she wants the link up. Anyway.. Do you really think the link adds much to the article? WesleyPinkham 00:53, 11 March 2006 (UTC)

I guess you're right. She may not want it up there. It doesn't serve much purpose anyway. I should take off Covais's myspace link as well. We shouldn't link their personal myspaces but if they have a music myspace (as Taylor Hicks and Jasmine Trias do), that would be fine. -User:Carie

Then again, if it is all right with her, by all means. Whatever creams her twinkie. Tell her she can even edit her own page, if she wants. :) -User:Carie

Eurasian categories

These categories do not meet the speedy deletion criteria, even though you may be the only contributor on them, most of them have a signifigant number of articles attached to them. You can nominate them in bulk at WP:CFD, upon closure, a bot can depopulate them all before deleting them. — xaosflux Talk 02:51, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

Okay, thanks. But first I need to make sure all the Eurasians are in the Eurasians parent category. Elle Bee

Image tagging for Image:HM Title Card.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:HM Title Card.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

Regarding Wikiproject Hannah Montana

Regarding your suggestion of Wikiproject Hannah Montana, a template talk page is not an appropriate place to put it. I have removed it. If you want to suggest it, put it in Wikipedia:WikiProject/List of proposed projects. I'm also not sure it's broad enough to be considered. Consider joining Wikiproject Disney first, then suggesting a Wikiproject Disney Channel. Thanks for your edits in Hannah Montana pages. bibliomaniac15 23:24, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

Never mind that. Elle Bee 14:05, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

Talk pages

You can't just remove comments on talk pages--even your own--unless they're blatantly offensive. If you would like to retract your own comments, please use strikethrough (<s> and </s>). See Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines. Thank you. -Shannernanner 04:40, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

I didn't remove anything, did I? I just changed my signature link. If I did, I'm sorry, and I've been aware of that guideline since forever. Elle Bee 11:51, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
Oh, that comment, on Template talk:Hannah Montana. I'll have to edit my signature on that and edit the time so it's the time that I posted, but I'm not going to remove it, k? Elle Bee 11:59, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
You did remove two comments on there, and another comment on a separate page, which I subsequently returned, but thank you for your willingness to comply. -Shannernanner 14:22, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

Wikipedians born in... categories

Just curious. These categories were deleted after discussion in CfD. Was there a consensus to recreate? Elliskev 21:31, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

Additionally, it's really not a good idea to add those specific categories to other user pages. I have reverted all from 1993 on. --Elliskev 00:37, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

OK, I understand. It's the under-13 children's privacy act. In accordance with this, shouldn't 1993 and onward be removed from m:Wikipedians by age? Pink moon 1287 11:45, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

Right. There is question as to whether Wikipedia is bound by COPPA. There is no policy on this. If the users in question want to self-identify as under 13, that's fine - unless policy changes. The categories were deleted by consensus in part based on a proactive desire to discourage self-identification as under 13. I have no experience with meta. I'd guess that a similar process of consensus (or WP:BOLD) applies there. Thanks for being cool about it. :) Elliskev 12:50, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

Disney Channel/child actors

I think it would be a much better idea if we merged Category:Disney child actors with Category:Disney Channel actors. This way Disney Channel actors young and old who have starred in Disney Channel Original Series can all be in one category like Category:Nickelodeon actors.

And for the actors who have only starred in Disney Channel Original Movies. We could make a category called Category:DCOM actors or something. Let me know what you think! Quasyboy 12:12 PM, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

Good idea. Let's do it. You can go ahead and make the new category. Once the Disney child actors category is all cleared out and moved, I'll put a {{db-author}} tag on it to speedy delete it. Pink moon 1287 16:21, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
I already took care of that. 5:19 PM, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

Category:Illegitimate Children

Linkspam

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did in Johnny Cash. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites that you are affiliated with, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. What happened today?

May I ask why you asked for the deletion of your userpage and most of your user subpages today? Is this action a signal that your days on Wikipedia are numbered? Scobell302 19:05, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

I just made the decision on my own accord that I'm only going to keep my talk page and one or two subpages, and when I sign my username it will link to my conribs. Nothing happened on Wikipedia, no conflicts or anything like that. I can't keep track of too many subpages. Pink moon 1287 19:07, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

I have to archive this page too, at the end of this month. Now that the talk page and contrib links appear in the page history, I no longer believe that I need a user page. I don't want to display myself to other users. Pink moon 1287 22:15, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

Deleted page "Juanita Barber"

A page you created, or image you uploaded, Juanita Barber, has been deleted in accordance with our deletion policy. In particular, it meets the one or more criteria for speedy deletion; the relevant criterion is:

Unremarkable people, groups, companies and web content. An article about a real person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content that does not assert the importance or significance of its subject.

Wikipedia has certain standards for inclusion that all articles must meet. Certain types of article must establish the notability of their subject by asserting its importance or significance. Additionally, since Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, content inappropriate for an encyclopedia, or content that would be more suited to somewhere else (such as a directory or social networking website) is not acceptable. See What Wikipedia is not for the relevant policy.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable notability guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content; it will be deleted again and may be protected from re-creation. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article. If you have any questions, please contact an administrator for assistance. Thank you – Gurch 11:58, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

I don't recall creating that page. I don't even know who that person is. Pink moon 1287 18:19, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

re: your Content Review request

The history of this userpage has been undeleted. You requested that the contents of the other pages be mailed to you without being restored. If you know of a specific version, I can do that for you. However, emailing you hundreds separate versions is more time-consuming than a regular admin can do for you. If you really need all the deleted versions, I recommend calling a developer.

Merging the page history (then re-deleting the pages) is easier but leaves you with a very complicated page-history.

We also need some evidence that these were really your userpages. Leaving a short note under those old usernames and confirming the request would be sufficient. By the way, there is nothing to move from the Sevensouls account. That history was already moved into the Pink moon1287 pages through the regular pagemove process. Rossami (talk) 15:57, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

Image:Abby and Britty.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Abby and Britty.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MECUtalk 03:07, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

I started the article, because at the time of the release, it was unknown if it was the first single and was mistaken to be until Katharine McPhee cofirmed that it's just her Xmas gift to us. I was going to delete if someone else didn't. Zaque 24 04:07, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

Hi Pink moon1287,

14:47, January 23, 2007 ... (fix)

Just noticed your edit above and wonder where {{hidden begin}} is now working for you... it's gone into shrinking mode here...  Yours, David Kernow (talk) 15:15, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

...If it's for the Userboxes on your userpage, I've just tried a test revert of {{hidden begin}} and your Userboxes section still seems to work fine. If it's for somewhere else, let me know and we can try to sort it out. David (talk) 15:27, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

One of the categories you placed in the article was incorrect. This isn't a school disaster, as the incident occurred at the Sons family residence in unincorporated Harris County. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by WhisperToMe (talkcontribs) 00:33, 7 February 2007 (UTC).

OK, it is time We Tubers had our own wiki. I am starting a wiki just on YouTube guys with more than 100 subscribers. I need ten good sysops. I've seen your contributions and that you realise there is a problem here on WP with too many mems being added in. We need to broaden the idea of wikis. I would like to invite you to participate. Please let me know by emailing me. frummer 08:48, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Daniellewhite.PNG.

Thank you. —xyzzyn 03:04, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

On the above…

Sorry about the many sections, I use a script that has this side-effect when many images by the same uploader are tagged. Feel free to remove them. —xyzzyn 03:08, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

Category:Former women's colleges

I just wanted to let you know that I nominated this category for merging with Category:Former women's universities and colleges in the United States that became coeducational. They overlap entirely.--Vbd (talk) 04:12, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

I have removed the GFDL template from Image:Sanjayam.jpg and replaced it with the tv-screenshot template. I've also tagged the image for speedy deletion as a copyright infringement. This image is clearly a screen capture of the TV program. It could not possibly have been licensed as GFDL. Please do not upload content with false or fictitious license claims in the future; continuing to do so will jeopardize your continued ability to participate in this project. Kelly Martin (talk) 15:05, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for telling me this. I'm not much of an image uploader more of an article editor. Elle Bee 16:20, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

Here a smile for you

Hope this makes your day. QuasyBoy 1:00, 1 April 2007 (UTC).
