Welcome[edit]

Hello, Changdaey, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Yunshui, and I am your Online Ambassador for Prof. Hughes' Theater History course. My job here is to help you to work within Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, to answer any questions that you have about editing here, and to act as your advocate in the (unlikely) event that you find yourself in a dispute with another user. I have a BA in Theatre (not a typo; I'm a Brit!) from years back, so I'm looking forward to working with you guys on this project.

Brooklyn College edit[edit]

Hi Changdaey, and thanks for your edit to the Brooklyn College article. Because Wikipedia strives to contain only verifiable information, it would be good to add a references for this estimated completion date - have the construction company published their schedule anywhere, for example, or has the college mentioned the completion date in a newsletter or on their website? By only adding information that can be supported in reliable sources, you can help to keep Wikipedia accurate and up-to-date. Sources in your sandbox[edit]

Hi Changdaey. Thanks for posting your proposed sources in your sandbox. Whilst you've provided just about the minimum information necessary, it would be infinitely preferable if you could expand on these to make it easier for Wikipedia's readers to track them down once they're placed in an article. As a general rule, it's a good idea to supply at least the following:

Author(s)
Title
Publisher
Location of publisher
Year of publication
Page reference
URL of Google Books entry (if available)
ISBN

You can do this easily using a {{cite book}} template; just copy the following code and replace the italicised text with the appropriate information:

{{cite book|last1=surname of first author|first1=first name of first author|last2=surname of second author|first2=first name of second author|title=title and subtitle|publisher=name of publishing house|location=city of publication|year=year of publication|pages=page numbers|url=URL of Google Books entry or similar, including the http://|ISBN=ISBN}}

Fuller citations like this make it easier for readers to verify the information you're adding, and (coincidentally) will probably get more kudos from Prof. Hughes... Yunshui 雲‍水 10:13, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of File:"The Lion King at the Minskoff theatre, Mar. 2013.jpg".jpg[edit]

A tag has been placed on File:"The Lion King at the Minskoff theatre, Mar. 2013.jpg".jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Broadway theatre[edit]
