Chaldean, Stop With Your Threats & Stop With Your Vandilisim[edit]

1. I have provided vital information on many important Assyrian figures of our time. Without this information, how can others know to write articles about these people? The research is done. Allow contributors to followup. I added a complete article on Milton Malek-Yonan. You deleted his name Why? We have highly respected Assyrian political figures in Iran's Parliament who have served their nation for the past several decades. Why have you deleted their names? Why don't you allow Assyrians and non Assyrians to see this information so that they can begin to write article? We are all contributors. Who made you the ultimate decision maker and sensor of the List of Assyrians? I have painstakingly compiled the names of Assyrian athletes who participated in many Olympics. What gives you the right to delete them? I have compiled names of legitimate "published" authors who have contributed to Assyrian history and literature. Why have you deleted them? I have added an Emmy Winning Assyrian documentary filmmaker. Why have you deleted him? These articles cannot be written all by one person. But each person can contribute.

2. If your problem is that my list of names were not red tagged, then by all means help by correcting that mistake and red tag the names so that articles can be written. But don't just delete everything by reverting to your own list. This is counter productive!!!

3. I have not revised you alphabetization of the lists. The list is by first name first and I left it as such. I moved Thea Halo's name because you had not alphabetized correctly! T does not come between L and M!!! Check your list.

4. I correct spelling and you revert back.

5. There are 29 people on YOUR list without articles. Why have you not removed them?

6. Stop acting like the school yard bully by threatning to report me. This isn't your yard. Play fair or don't play at all. This is not your personal webpage. No one gets paid to do this. We all want to contribute. I can also report you for vandilisim but I rather spend my precious time working in a positive way rather than your distructive way.

Why Do You Delete From The List of Assyrians?[edit]

I just spent an entire day researching and adding new valid entreis. Why do you delete all my work? This is now pure vandilisim. Why don't you write articles and do research instead of constantly using the delete button? I don't understand you. Please explain why you are doing this? What is your rationale for this? User: Zayya 17 December 2006

Assyrian People[edit]

If a person is in several catagories as a "professional" in those catagories then they must stay. Some people do one thing only. Some do many. I do not think you represent the entirety of the Assyrian community. There are Assyrians that you may not know. I am not just arbitrarily listing people. If I've listed them, I think they deserve to be there and I also plan to follow up with their bios. This is about building not destroying Assyrians. User: Zayya 10:58:00 17 December 2006

I would be very grateful if you do (if you know another language apart from English and the ones on my userpage please feel free to post it on) P.S. all th translations are in alpahbetical order so when you add one please put it in alpahbetical order according to the language. Chaldean Archbishop of Siirt[edit]

Hi, Chaldean! I've been reading some scraps of history that mention that Mar Addai Scher (I'm not sure on the spelling of that last name), the Chaldean Archbishop of Siirt, was killed by the Turks in 1915. I don't know if you can find a source to confirm this story. In addition to it, there are rumours that the Turks destoyed hundreds of ancient manuscript in the archbishop's library. I've found an old catalogue that mentions some of the manuscripts, but wanted to know if anyone could confirm whether they were destroyed, or if there is hope they were saved. Thanks. — Gareth Hughes 22:35, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Article on Al-[edit]

Hi. I wonder if you wouldn't mind taking a look at the article above, and expanding it further, or adding any sources appropriate for our English Wikipedia. I've already built it from a one-sentence stub using the sum total of my knowledge on the subject. Specifically, someone raised questions about the etymology of Semitic definite articles that I just couldn't answer. So I'm trying to recruit other Wikipedians with Arabic/linguistic expertise, such as yourself. Thanks very much! --Fsotrain09 17:47, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Points[edit]

Well, ive been doing abit of poking around (by the way im Croatian , Roman Catholic) and it seems to me that from the 6th - 9th century BC the Babylonians entered into the Neo-Babylonian or Chaldean Age. They were fightong against Assyrians and such. Particularly when the Neo-Babylonians, with the assistance of the Medes sacked Ninveh. When you say thesame, do you mean historically, or after this did they integrate

Syrians as in SURAYE[edit]

That's what you translate Suraya to, in English it's Syrian. In a historical context SYRIAN refers to our people and not the country of Syria. In turn it means Assyrian. I'm not talking about today's political situation because at the end of the day (100 years from now) there may be no country of Syria however our SYRIA, the Christian homeland refers to the lands once held by Assyria so in turn that is another name for our people. King Legit

http://www.nineveh.com/WhoAreTheAssyrians.html That even states that "All Syriacs are Assyrian." Kulla Suraye'la Aturaye... SYRIACS MEANS SURAYAH and SYRIACS IS USED IN PLACE OF SYRIAN TO AVOID CONFUSION WITH THE COUNTRY.סרגון יוחנא 16:06, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Aramaeans[edit]

Perhaps not as much as in Germany or Holland, but also among the Süryani in Turkey there is a certain awareness of their Aramaean heritage. I have here a master thesis based on anthropological research among the Syriac Orthodox community in Istanbul, which states that even though most of the nineteen people interviewed identify themselves solely as Syriac Orthodox, there are a few that consider themselves Aramaeans, and a few that called themselves Assyrians, and even one that mixed those two names together. Next to that, there is a book published in Turkish Türkiye'nin Süryanileri, though based on a rather minimal survey (50 respondents, mostly Syriac Catholics), which shows the same trend: Süryani 92%, Asuri 2%, Arami 2%, Other 2%, No answer 2%.

And even though I can not use my own experiences because that would amount to original research, I can say that this is something I recognise. I have personally talked to people, both Syriac Orthodox and Protestants, who consider themselves Aramaeans ethnically, others who think of themselves as Assyrians, and with people who call themselves ܣܘܪܝܝܐ or Süryani. --Benne ['bɛnə] (talk) 14:10, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Assyrian language[edit]

Shlama Chaldean, please be aware that Assyrian language is a disambiguation page. When you're changing a name, ask yourself whether the change will make it more clear to the reader. Also, ancient Assyrians (speaking their own dialect of Akkadian) didn't use the Syriac alphabet. Basima rabba, --334 13:30, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I see what you were trying to do, but I think Wikipedia has doesn't like to have internal links to disambiguation pages. Usually, if a word is the same in both Assyrian and Chaldean Neo-Aramaic, I just put Syriac (which often is the case). Also, is Nohadra Akkadian? I know it's definitely in modern Assyrian and Chaldean (hence "Syriac"). If that's the case, I think it would be a good idea to have both Akkadian and Syriac; Akkadian being written in the Latin alphabet and Syriac in the Syriac alphabet with a transliteration (ancient Assyrians used Cuneiform, not Syriac). --334 17:28, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Chaldeans are ethnically NOT assyrian[edit]

How could you go against your own dignity and pride because you are a "wannabe" you have runied and spread false rumours amongst wikipedians stating that Chaldeans are "ethnically assyrian". We are a seperate nation, we did not fall under the Assyrian Empire. To state that we are Chaldean is very foolish. Your under anti-chaldean influence and you have gone against your people. I amongst many other Chaldeans do NOT classify ourselves as being ethnically Assyrian. We should however tend to respect them and treat them fairly. Please dont judge others according to your own beliefs. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Andrew.hermiz (talkcontribs) 08:28, 4 September 2006.

It looks like your buddy, "Chaldean Warrior" above recently created the Chaldean's article? What do you think of it? ;-) —Khoikhoi 01:30, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I did as a matter of fact. :p I don't want to know what would happen to him if he went to Iraq... Anyways, what are we going to do about his article? AFDing it wouldn't work because the topic is valid in itself. Should we PROD it instead? (see Azraqi (religion) for an example) If that doesn't work the best option would just be to redirect it to Assyrian people. "Chaldean Warrior" made me laugh though. —Khoikhoi 04:43, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The unionists in both Romania and Moldova are more pro-Western and anti-Russian, and of course those who are against unificaion can tend to be the opposite, but not always. BTW, keep in mind that Moldova is only 75.8% Moldovan. I belive there was also a referendum in 1994, see that article as well. Is there any academic proof out there to back this similarity up, aside from some extremely racist weirdo logical systems? In a similar way, can we also not equate Assyrians with the Nazis? Or with the regime of Pol Pot? Or the Assyrian Catholic Church with devil-worshippers? They would fall in to the same bag of equations with the Ottoman Muslim-Nazi German one. Please try to be more constructive with your approach to the matters at hand, equating Muslims of Ottoman Empire with the Nazis is not quite a way of doing that, just fyi.Baristarim 12:08, 18 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Don't pay attention to him, Chaldean. -- Clevelander 13:06, 18 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Excuse me? A comparison between Ottoman Muslims and Nazi Germans is simply racist.. I hope that you will be able to at least see that instead of approving such a racist statement. Baristarim 13:33, 18 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The fact of the matter is that the death of ottoman civilian muslims is not that significant to have its own page. And that is why I made the comment, because I confident that more military ottoman muslims died then civilians muslims. But the page is created in a way to justify the genocides. Hello, you said on the TFD that you agree the template is POV. Can you please leave your thoughts there on the Template_talk:Kurds? Thanks. Also please review Kurdish people if you have time. There is same POV problem there too (the history section mainly). Khorshid 04:12, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A question[edit]

Would you like to reply to the comment at Talk:Hakkari? Khoikhoi 19:20, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, thanks! Maybe you could get him to contribute to Wikipedia. ;-) Khoikhoi 01:42, 25 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

AlSalam Alykum[edit]

Thanks friend for your welcome. Thanks for helping with the correct link to the Faili page. There is something you can perhaps help with. I've been trying to put together a page about Saddamists but it was deleted by the admin yesterday. I'd really appreciate your input on this. Best regards. Haideral 14:27, 25 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Saddamists[edit]

This was the entire content of the deleted article:

Following secret instructions given by Saddam Hussein in January 2003, just before the American led invasion of Iraq in March 2003. All Baath party elements and secret police and military inteligence elements were to morph into Sunni extremists working with Al Qaida to destabilise Iraq until the Americans relent and give them back the control that they lost with the invasion and the toppeling of the Saddam Regime.

No sources and very little context. I have no problem with a recreated article that explains the term and gives reliable sources for the term being in general use. Thanks, NawlinWiki 17:17, 25 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Done. As for the Assyrian people page, I'm going to assume it was meant to be some sort of sick joke. :-) Khoikhoi 06:22, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

First of all, the flags are representing nationality, not ethnicity. Secondaly, Arbil FC plays in the Iraq Super League, not the Kurdi league. Thirdly, Hawar plays for the Iraq national football team, not the national Kurdish team. Chaldean 06:56, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, so you finally come to talk to me after reporting it to an administrator. --D.Kurdistani 07:02, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Chaldean, why don't you explain your reverts on the talk page? What you need to do is provide reliable soruces, and then add them to the article. Same goes for Diyako. Khoikhoi 23:09, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Assyrians[edit]

I didn't write it, I just restored part of the old version (mostly by Pylambert) because I disagreed with Sargon's version, which contained many weasel words. Feel free to add some of the stuff from Sargon's version or remove parts from mine if you want. In fact I already removed the paragraph you disputed.

BTW, I unprotected Mardin. Khoikhoi 03:28, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Basilgorgis.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Basilgorgis.JPG. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MECUtalk 01:20, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Sargon Boulus, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. —Pilotguy (ptt) 00:00, 27 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
