October 2014[edit]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did to Jim Thorpe, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Graham87 07:27, 31 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Baseball positions[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to baseball articles. There is documentation for using the baseball infobox at Template:Infobox MLB player. Generally, relief pitchers and closers are listed by their position, "Pitcher", and not by their role e.g. reliever, et al. Therefore, I have undid your change to Trevor Hoffman. If you want to form a new consensus, feel free to discuss at the WikiProject Baseball talk page. Thanks.—Bagumba (talk) 21:45, 18 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

November 2014[edit]

Information icon Please do not introduce incorrect information into articles, as you did to Kobe Bryant. Your edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them again. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. —Bagumba (talk) 05:00, 20 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yaz and Mantle[edit]

Can you please stop? We only list the players main position in the infobox. Yastrzemski did not DH enough games and Mantle did not play enough games at first to be included in the infobox. So please, do not keep adding them.--Yankees10 23:43, 28 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

And stop with the Reggie Jackson stolen bases. Per WP:Baseball agreement the only time stolen bases go in the infobox is if the player is among the all time leaders in the stat (Rickey Henderson, Lou Brock). Please stop making these unnecessary edits.--Yankees10 05:00, 30 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Babe Ruth - another request to stop[edit]

I appreciate your efforts to update the infoboxes of baseball players. However, most of the players that you're tweaking seem to be long-retired, so their infoboxes have generally been well established. I removed "right fielder" from Babe Ruth and replaced it with "outfielder" because Ruth played almost as many games at LF as at RF. You reinserted your version without even a brief comment as to why.

I would think that you would want to focus on areas of editing where your work had a chance to help, but most of your position edits have been removed because they don't comply with the template instructions to list the player's primary positions. What gives? EricEnfermero HOWDY! 04:47, 29 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

December 2014[edit]

Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did to Spitball. This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. —Bagumba (talk) 19:26, 3 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not use styles that are unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles, as you did in Tony Gwynn. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Specifically, see MOS:POUND about use of #.Bagumba (talk) 05:20, 7 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at New York Mets. Egsan Bacon (talk) 03:49, 9 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not remove citations or information sourced through citations simply because a link to a source is not working, as you did to 30–30 club. Dead links should not be deleted. Instead, please repair or replace the link, if possible, and ensure properly sourced information is retained. Often, a live substitute link can be found. Links not used as references, notes or citations are not as important, such as those listed in the "External links" or "Further reading" sections, but bad links in those sections should also be fixed if possible. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you.

Disambiguation link notification for December 12[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Brushback pitch, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Brendan Ryan. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

January 2015[edit]

Stop icon with clock
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 31 hours for persistent unverifiable edits, as you did at Jimmy Rollins. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.  —Bagumba (talk) 18:53, 1 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, CelticsFan76! I've noticed some similarities between you and the blocked User:Drew campbell. You both have an interest in infobox changes, you both do mobile edits, User:Drew campbell was blocked indefinitely on July 22, 2014 and this account was created on July 27, 2014. If you are the same person, you need to cease editing from this account and post an {{unblock}} request on your other account.

  • What relation do you have to the Drew campbell account?

Rgrds. --64.85.217.202 (talk) 13:24, 10 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I don't have any relation to the Drew Campbell account. I didn't even know that account existed until today.— Preceding unsigned comment added by CelticsFan76 (talkcontribs) 15:11, 10 January 2015‎ (UTC)[reply]
I've gone through both accounts' contributions and the similarities jump out: baseball/football/basketball articles, mainly infobox changes, some subtle statistics vandalism with some good edits mixed in, rarely used edit summaries, typically tagged with a mobile edit, the 5 day difference between the Drew campbell account being blocked and the creation of this one. I believe I have enough behavioral evidence to open a sockpuppet investigation. Really, your only problem is that the Drew campbell account is blocked, so you are block evading. My advice would be to cease editing on this account immediately and post an {{unblock}} request on the Drew campbell account. Rgrds. (Dynamic IP, will change when I log off.) --64.85.217.55 (talk) 17:02, 11 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I am not Drew Campbell. My real name is (Redacted), and CelticsFan76 is my username because I like the Celtics.— Preceding unsigned comment added by CelticsFan76 (talkcontribs) 17:33, 11 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It's not advisable to provide personal details (your real name), so I removed that. OK, so the next step is tomorrow morning I'll open an WP:SPI; at that time you can state your side of the story (see Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/SPI/Guidance#Defending yourself against claims for guidance). I'll drop a note here on your talk page once I have filed the report and you can respond at that time. Rgrds. --64.85.217.55 (talk) 18:11, 11 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppet investigation[edit]

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Drew campbell, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community. 64.85.216.177 (talk) 12:35, 12 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Andy Summers may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "{}"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.
