Hello, Ccraft us, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few links to pages you might find helpful:

You may also want to complete the Wikipedia Adventure, an interactive tour that will help you learn the basics of editing Wikipedia. You can visit the Teahouse to ask questions or seek help.

Couple of points[edit]

A minor edit is defined at WP:MINOR. It is more for minor spelling, grammar and sometimes references changes, not for content changes. The lede section probably needs improvement. In fact a complete re-write. It's possibly best to gain concensus first before attempting to make changes. That said some of your thinking may be reasonable. I apologise for not putting this well, neither do I have time to check this fully. Thankyou.Djm-leighpark (talk) 17:03, 30 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the help! I am a new user of Wikipedia, seeking to improve the content of the article in question, as well as others as declared on my COI. Ccraft us (talk)

I'm impressed you actually read the standard welcome template ... few do! You may want to look at Template:edit request. There's an example of it in use (possibly not the best one but I can't find the other example I was thinking of) at Talk:Hong Kong Olympiad in Informatics. Yes, it's apparent that people don't often read the instructions. I will make specific edit requests when I find good info. Please don't hesitate to provide feedback and help me follow the process properly. Thanks... Ccraft us (talk) 13:37, 31 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Oracle Database Workplace and COI[edit]

Couple of rushed points

  • You may care to look over some COI interactions with Aprimo, Talk:Aprimo, User talk:Robert McClenon#Aprimo and WP:COIN#Aprimo. These are not typical (and as I was involved there is some bias towards my thinking) but you might find comments and viewpoints interesting.
  • In general anything detailed or non simple needs to avoid go in the lede.
  • Its important anything claimed needs to come from a reliable source. Larry is currently trying to sell 18c as the first (truly) autonomous database. Such claims need to be backed by independent sources ... In general if an article says "The spin Vice President of Oracle says ...." that source will not be regarded as independent. See WP:RS.
  • Regarding Autonomous Database, that does not refer to the 18c release. Rather, it's an automation layer built into the Oracle Cloud Service that performs tasks normally handled by the DBA. I would say it probably doesn't belong in this article on the basis of it being tied to the Cloud Service. Ccraft us (talk) 23:54, 4 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • I really apologise I have very limited time to help steer you in this attempt. In fact I am trying to stay away from Wikipedia. You also might want to check Wikipedia:WikiProject Databases

Best wishes. Djm-leighpark (talk) 23:19, 4 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thanks for the references. I will certainly review them. Your continued guidance is highly appreciated. Ccraft us (talk) 23:54, 4 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
