June 2013[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm C.Fred. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Andrew Lancel without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry: I restored the removed content. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Given that the text is backed up by reliable sources, you will need to explain the deletion on the talk page and get consensus before removing the text. Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 18:08, 5 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the Andrew Lancel page, however this information is highly libellious, and this is going against the living persons section of Wikipedias rules and regulations, therefore please delete this information. thank you

Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Andrew Lancel, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. The BBC is a reliable source, and they're cited as a source in the section that mentions Lancel being charged with sex offences. Again, I encourage you to discuss your concerns on the talk page; as I've noted, the material is neither unsourced nor poorly sourced. —C.Fred (talk) 19:33, 5 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

How is it libelous? How have we distorted what was reported by those news sources? The general rule is that accuracy is a valid defence against libel, so you'll need to be specific on what inaccuracies are present in the article.
Also please review WP:NPOV; we don't omit parts of a biography just because they are unflattering. —C.Fred (talk) 20:08, 5 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This certain piece of information can be of defamation of character

And if it weren't sourced, it would be removed for just that reason. Because it's sourced, it may stay. —C.Fred (talk) 23:47, 5 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Bogus categories[edit]

Please don't create bogus categories such as Category:Delete pls. The category will probably be removed shortly; the message you posted there,

"Regarding the Andrew Lancel page : However, this information is highly libellious, and this is against the living persons act in wikipedia rules and regulations"

probably belongs somewhere else. QVVERTYVS (hm?) 19:43, 5 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

WP:BLPN is a good place to bring issues regarding Wikipedia's coverage of living people. --j⚛e deckertalk 00:39, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
