December 2017[edit]

Hello, I'm Jim1138. I noticed that in this edit to Merca, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Jim1138 (talk) 07:40, 23 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Merca, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use the sandbox for that. The reference is verifiable. I checked. Killiondude (talk) 08:44, 23 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please explain why you think it did not appear to be constructive, its essentially restoring a version of the page as it was before edit war. CabuuwaaqWanaag (talk) 10:25, 23 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Bari[edit]

Thank you for your message. I reverted you because you said the "2015 census said that.. the figure was c700,000 in 2014." The data in question was a population estimate, not a census, and was carried out from October 2013 into 2014. You cannot say the 'population was XXX in 2014' from this source: you have to reflect things accurately. You've also deleted warnings from two separate users on your talkpage about deletion of content at Merca, which makes me wonder about your motives. Hope this explains my actions. Regards Buckshot06 (talk) 10:58, 2 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    • Thanks for your response, in hindsight it makes sense, however the Merca is a different situation, as the source to backup the current version of the page is not available.

Thankyou CabuuwaaqWanaag. Your restoration of your talkpage, including other editors' critical comments, is a good mark for your editing. Many Somali-focused editors seem to try to hide critical comments made on their talkpage. I've inserted a welcome template above; please read about WP:PILLARS - follow that WP:PILLARS link to that page and take a look. Buckshot06 (talk) 21:24, 2 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Edit Warring warning[edit]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Badhan,_Sanaag shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. --Kzl55 (talk) 21:37, 3 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Stop removing my sourced content, the source i provided is reliable, i don't intend on engaging in an edit war with you so open a discussion on the talk page and explain your changes in depth. CabuuwaaqWanaag (talk) 21:40, 3 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Since you're adding the source, the burden of proof is on you to explain how the source is valid and reliable. —C.Fred (talk) 21:52, 3 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I concede the point, i don't think this is worth getting in an argument over. CabuuwaaqWanaag (talk) 21:54, 3 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
