Thanks for the Howard edit

I spent about 15 minutes and even used the search function twice to try and find that citation category on Wiki. Glad you found it.Sunnydoo (talk) 22:51, 23 March 2016 (UTC)

You're welcome. — Wyliepedia 22:57, 23 March 2016 (UTC)

Victoria Wood

"Comedian and actress".... seems odd. Ghmyrtle (talk) 08:23, 21 April 2016 (UTC)

You can good faith revert. I'll try "songstress" for women singers in the future. This is a Talk:Deaths discussion, by the way. Or better still, ask here.— Wyliepedia 08:31, 21 April 2016 (UTC)
OK, I just thought I'd mention the inconsistency here in case you hadn't noticed it. But someone else has changed it anyway. Ghmyrtle (talk) 08:48, 21 April 2016 (UTC)
"Inconsistency" is in the eye of the beholder. It's not like I changed it to "comediman". We'll see if a feminist posts in the T:D page. They've done it before. And I see everything done to that page. — Wyliepedia 08:57, 21 April 2016 (UTC)

Off topic posts

[Moved back to where this conversation started] "...these templates should not be used by involved parties to end a discussion over the objections of other editors." — Wyliepedia 23:17, 23 April 2016 (UTC)

That doesn't mean what you think it does - it means it shouldn't be used to call a halt to a discussion that is ongoing. There was no discussion, just off-topic nonsense. Keri (talk) 23:35, 23 April 2016 (UTC)
Did you not see my added comment? There was no reason for a one-post topic to be hidden on an inactive talk page, no matter your opinion of its "nonsense". Not all devices properly show the [hide/show] button, and not all visitors have the visual acuity to see it nor do their screen readers. — Wyliepedia 04:17, 24 April 2016 (UTC)

2016 Wikimedia Foundation Executive Director Search Community Survey

The Board of Trustees of the Wikimedia Foundation has appointed a committee to lead the search for the foundation’s next Executive Director. One of our first tasks is to write the job description of the executive director position, and we are asking for input from the Wikimedia community. Please take a few minutes and complete this survey to help us better understand community and staff expectations for the Wikimedia Foundation Executive Director.

Thank you, The Wikimedia Foundation Executive Director Search Steering Committee via MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:48, 1 June 2016 (UTC)

Bill Ham rating

If memory serves, it was listed as a stub on the talk page before I added the stub tag. The main issue seems to be a lack of sourcing. Capitalistroadster (talk) 06:18, 23 June 2016 (UTC)

Please brush up on assessments. While I agree more sources could be added, hence the article tag remains, that doesn't make Ham's a poorly sourced stub by WP's standards. I also changed his talkpage status to C classes. It's neither Stub nor Start. — Wyliepedia 06:31, 23 June 2016 (UTC)
Thank you for the tips. Handy to know. Capitalistroadster (talk)
You're welcome. — Wyliepedia

Start class rating

Hi, I noticed you answered my request for a rating to the page Sky News Australia, and rated it start class. As a somewhat heavy contributor to the page I haven't rated it myself, but I would strongly argue it is worthy of a higher class than Start. I certainly think it would easily qualify as C class, if not B. I'm just wondering if you could explain what points on C class the article currently fails. Thanks -- Whats new?(talk) 06:56, 26 June 2016 (UTC)

As stated here, WikiProject Australia rates it a Start, so I did too. Feel free to request an upgrade at WPTV/A's talkpage and perhaps at WPAUS. — Wyliepedia 07:19, 26 June 2016 (UTC)
I'm not sure it is appropriate or good form to just copy another WikiProject's rating. Other projects may have their own grading system or criteria, and I'd argue you should judge against the criteria yourself if attempting to provide a third party opinion, which is what I asked for when posting the initial request for grading. I don't think you've reviewed the article at all by the sounds of it. I'll request elsewhere. -- Whats new?(talk) 07:41, 26 June 2016 (UTC)
That's fine. Good luck finding a reviewer, from the looks of WPTV/A's history. And be careful about presumptions... — Wyliepedia 07:48, 26 June 2016 (UTC)
I requested assessment on WPAUS over a month ago with no review, thus why I made the same request at WPTV. And it's hard not to presume when you admitted you reviewed it as start class because "WikiProject Australia rates it a Start, so I did too." Hard to assume you actually did a thorough review. -- Whats new?(talk) 07:52, 26 June 2016 (UTC)

Feel free to change the class ratings for both to your liking. As you can see, WPTV doesn't really notice news channels. — Wyliepedia 08:05, 26 June 2016 (UTC)

Too true! I'll put in another request and cross my fingers. Thanks -- Whats new?(talk) 08:11, 26 June 2016 (UTC)
Like I said, be bold and change them. I do it all the time for WPBIO whenever someone dies and is listed as a Stub but has been worked on/expanded since, and I'm not a project member. — Wyliepedia 08:21, 26 June 2016 (UTC)

WP:COLOR

Information icon Greetings. At least one of your recent edits, such as the edit you made to Xena: Warrior Princess (season 6), contributed colours that may cause accessibility problems for users with certain types of visual disabilities. We aim to use colours that meet the WCAG AAA standard for accessibility. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines on this subject, which can be found at WP:COLOR; this page provides further information about contributing AAA-compliant colours to this encyclopedia. For information specific to templates used in articles about television, please also see Template talk:Infobox television season/Archive 3. If you only meant to make some test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. @AlexTheWhovian:: Hi. Yes, I'm trying to update all the seasons with the episode page, which is also horrendous. — Wyliepedia 03:21, 27 June 2016 (UTC)
No problems. Remember, seasons should be linked with {{main}}, and colours should reflect the DVD covers (you can pick out the most common colour with this [1]). Alex|The|Whovian? 03:28, 27 June 2016 (UTC)
Right. I'm working in reverse, using the SO colors from the Episode Page. All the DVD look about the same. I'll transcode when I'm finished. — Wyliepedia 03:35, 27 June 2016 (UTC)

Hello there! Firstly, thank you for reviewing and adding a class to the series 29 and series 30 pages of Casualty. It is much appreciated.

Secondly, I noticed that in your latest edit on the Series 29 page that you left an edit summary with the following: "Awards shouldn't be buried in the Production section." I was just wondering where they should go, so that myself and other editors can continue to improve the series article. Thank you. ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 15:02, 9 July 2016 (UTC)

Hi. I'm confused by your edit to the Farve redirect page. When I created the redirect, after an AfD on the Farve article was closed as "Delete", I made the target the 100 oldest Americans subhed of the List of supercentenarians from the United States page because that's where Ms. Farve appears on the page. You changed the redirect to the start of the article, rather than the subhed. In my view, that makes her harder to find on the page. Why the edit? Thanks. David in DC (talk) 13:26, 14 July 2016 (UTC)

Because the Rdcheck page was full of broken anchors. Yours was one of them and went to the top anyway. It's now properly anchored, and FYI, yours was "List of supercentenarians from the United States#100 longest lived Americans" and not what you gave above. — Wyliepedia 13:37, 14 July 2016 (UTC)
D'oh!. Thank you for cleaning up a mess I didn't know I'd caused. David in DC (talk) 13:51, 14 July 2016 (UTC)
You're welcome. The list page is about to be overhauled again, it seems. — Wyliepedia 13:58, 14 July 2016 (UTC)

Did You Hear What Happened to Charlotte King? - featured article candidate

Hello, thank you again for reviewing and reassessing the article for Love, Inc. I was wondering if you could provide some feedback or comments to my nomination for the episode "Did You Hear What Happened to Charlotte King?", which I have nominated for FAC. I understand that you are busy so it is completely okay if you are unable to do this. I apologize for any inconvenience. It is just a little discouraging that no one has commented on this yet (I understand everyone is busy so it is understandable).

The link is here if you are interested: Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Did You Hear What Happened to Charlotte King?/archive1. Thank you for your time. Aoba47 (talk) 18:55, 18 July 2016 (UTC)

Ha?

I thought about it a minute or two, but I don't get it. Hint? InedibleHulk (talk) 06:35, 19 July 2016 (UTC)

And of course, right after I post this, "name association" pops out at me. Ha, indeed! InedibleHulk (talk) 06:37, 19 July 2016 (UTC)

I declined the technical move since the proposed target Dev Joshi is salted against recreation. Can you contact User:SlimVirgin who did the full protection back in January 2014? My guess is that User:Jackmcbarn might have requested the protection. Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 02:38, 19 August 2016 (UTC)

Garman

My view is that birth name should be the full name at birth, without any initials. Unless his name was really "John R. Garman" like Harry S. Truman. CMAH (Connormah's Sock) 19:16, 21 September 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for finding the full middle name. — Wyliepedia 23:29, 21 September 2016 (UTC)

Longmire

Thanks for the thanks. Someone looooooves Ferg; I've noted those odd additions and wanted to makes some cuts for a while. Are you watching S5? Walt, Henry and I have a date this weekend. --Drmargi (talk) 20:31, 23 September 2016 (UTC)

@Drmargi: You're welcome for the thanks, and thanks for the thanking. Sadly, I don't have Netflix. I used my freebie last season to watch S4 and other stuff. I must live vicariously through others. But it's still a great day at the Red Pony! — Wyliepedia 20:36, 23 September 2016 (UTC)

He just dropped in on my talk, too. Not interested. --Drmargi (talk) 18:50, 1 October 2016 (UTC)

I just went over the recent summaries, removed a couple factual errors and changed the annoying uses of "to get" to the correct "to be" forms. --Drmargi (talk) 20:04, 1 October 2016 (UTC)

Drmargi, I saw I saw. Thank you. I remember my "meanwhile" days... — Wyliepedia 20:06, 1 October 2016 (UTC)
The worst. They copy TV Guide and their online program guide. The one that really makes me crazy? "It was revealed that..." and you get some minor plot point. Then there's "On (date) it was announced that..." Where do I start? The passive voice, or that the critical information is buried behind the trivial date? Sigh... --Drmargi (talk) 20:09, 1 October 2016 (UTC)

hurricane

A hurricane is in the Atlantic ocean. A cyclone is in the Pacific ocean. A cyclone, by definition cannot be in the Atlantic ocean. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.87.18.24 (talk) 04:03, 8 October 2016 (UTC)

See tropical cyclone. You're thinking of a typhoon in the Pacific. — Wyliepedia 04:07, 8 October 2016 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) Funnily enough, when I took meteorology in college, I was taught that a hurricane was Atlantic, a typhoon was Pacific and a cyclone was Indian Ocean. --Drmargi (talk) 07:18, 8 October 2016 (UTC)

Longmire Cast

Now, why is it you redid the change I did? You read that Bailey Chase's character died in season 3, the show is heading for its sixth and final season, why continue having him in the main cast when he is no longer in the show since Season 3? I made the change because of that reason. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 1remains (talkcontribs) 15:07, December 27, 2016 (UTC)

Because, as stated in my edit summary, Bailey Chase was an original credited cast member, regardless of when his character was killed off. Furthermore, please sign your talk page comments with ~~~~. — Wyliepedia 00:56, 28 December 2016 (UTC)
