I put the 98 picture on there, I think the article is somewhat enhanced by some pictures of our bus fleet, though I think a picture of a trolley bus might be nice to have too, next time I'm down Granville I'll take one -- Tawker 00:58, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

Heh, I wonder if I ask TransLink if they will release into public domain :) - otherwise its the bus stop @ Granville & Georgia for me -- Tawker 01:10, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

I saw your message at RadioKirk's talk page and thought I'd offer my opinion; I hope you won't mind my insinuating myself into an otherwise private discussion. Though surely there is a place in an article about a college or university to include an enumeration of the fraternities and sororities operative on the campus (see, e.g., the Greek life section of the article concerning Murray State University, you are, IMHO, altogether correct apropos of the impropriety of our article's including the extant section, which is altogether unencyclopedic (containing exorbitant detail about non-notable subjects and seeming, in its presentation of criteria for joining and sundry weblinks, to border on being a "how-to" guide) and should surely be removed (the article about the university proper also seems to recapitulate the information from the Fraternities and Sororities at the University of British Columbia article, which article should definitely be listed at AfD). Cordially, Joe 05:46, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

Okay, I've reviewed what was at the page, per the link you sent me, and I have a couple of thoughts:
  • Everything under The Inter-Fraternity Council at the University of British Columbia looked fine until I saw this: "To find out more about joining a fraternity at UBC click here: [1]". If that's listed instead at the bottom as an external link, fine, but in context it's an ad for recruitment and, IMO, qualifies as spam; and
  • Everything under Sororities at the University of British Columbia read as if lifted verbatim from the University's recruitment pamphlet. If those individual sororities have something of sufficient notability for an encyclopedia, none of it was presented in anything I read ("Wednesday night theme exchanges between fraternities and sororities, such as ice skating, pumpkin carving, Disco Night, and Twister are chances to take a break from the books and have fun." Say what?!).
One editor's opinion... :) RadioKirk talk to me 16:21, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

After you issued a "last warning", I had to rv several of his edits. Apokrif 18:51, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

Esperanza Newsletter, Issue #2

The Barnstar Brigade is a new program aimed at giving more very deserving yet unappreciated users barnstars. It will officially start on 2006-04-09, but signing up is encouraged before this date:
"Here in Wikipedia, there are hundreds of wikipedians whose work and efforts go un-appreciated. One occasionally comes across editors who have thousands of good edits, but because they may not get around as much as others, their contributions and hard work often go un-noticed. Sadly, these editors often leave the project. As Esperanzians, we can help to make people feel appreciated, be it by some kind words or the awarding of a Barnstar. A project the size of Wikipedia has thousands of editors, so there are plenty of people out there who deserve recognition, one just has to find them. The object of this program is not to flood editors with Barnstars, but to seek out people who deserve them, and make them feel appreciated."
The Stress alerts program aims at identifying users who are stressed, alerting the community of thier stress and works in tandem with the Stressbusters at trying to identify causes of stress and eliminating them.
Information
Welcome to the second issue of the new format Esperanza Newsletter - we hope you still like it! This week, it was delivered diligently by our new dogsbody. MiszaBot (run by Misza13): any execution complaints should go to him. Content comments should be directed at the Esperanza talkpage. Thanks!
  1. The next elections: Approval voting as before and, also as before, an previous leadership member can run. Please submit your name for voting in the relevant section of this page. Voting starts on 2006-04-23 and ends on 2006-04-30. There will be three places up for grabs as KnowledgeOfSelf is leaving Wikipedia. Please see the previously linked page for full details.
  2. The Code of Conduct is now ready for extensive discussion! Specific comments should go to the Code of Conduct talk page, discussion of having one at all should be directed to the main Esperanza talk page.
  3. The current process for accepting proposals for new programs has been deemed fine. All Advisory Council members and the Admin Gen are to endevour to be bold when viewing discussion. If they feel that consensus has been reached, they will act accordingly.
A plea from the editor...
The propsed programs page is terribly underused! Please leave any comments, good or bad, on the page, to help us determine the membership's thoughts on the ideas there.

exceeded his last warning

64.2.113.55, today vandalized the Bill Clinton Page —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Synaptidude (talkcontribs) .

I think if we leave him be for a while, he'll wear himself out. No one is really going to see his user talk page anyway, so let him vandalize there to his heart's content. He'll tire of it. — Scm83x hook 'em 02:09, 8 April 2006 (UTC)

Stewart

I think someone originally made a mistake on all these websites when they mentioned her being born in "Colorado" (without specifying an exact place) because she said she grew up in Colorado. On Ancestry.com, Kristen Jaymes Stewart is listed as being born April 9, 1990 in Los Angeles. Which makes sense, considering her father worked as a producer there. My guess is that she lived in Colorado during her early years, hence the confusion. JackO'Lantern 19:30, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

Thank you

Thank you!

Lohan/DiCaprio

Two pages justify this revert: Wikipedia:Fancruft and Wikipedia:Importance. :) RadioKirk talk to me 23:47, 12 April 2006 (UTC)

It is tabloid crap, but those pages (and probably more, but those are the best I've found) justify its removal. (And, suuuuuuuuuuuure it was a typo ;).) RadioKirk talk to me 23:59, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
Okay, I believe you. Really. ;) RadioKirk talk to me 00:16, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

I'll tell you what nonsense is

Nonsense is believing that 6 millions Jews actually died in the Holocaust, dumbass. FunnyDude 07:41, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for your attempts to improve Wikipedia. However, I would like to remind you that Wikipedia is not censored for minors, not even for profanity or pornography. You are welcome to remove clearly offensive material or inappropriate obscenities, but please do not remove/censor profanities or remove/disclaim sexually explicit material or links that are relevant to the article. In the meantime, please be bold and continue contributing to Wikipedia. Thank you! FunnyDude 07:48, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

WP:NOT and WP:NPA are two different things. There is no justification for your initial personal attack. Buchanan-Hermit™..SCREAM!!!.... 07:55, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

New project over at Films based on books

Greetings! I put together a list of stub articles that need to be split into separate book and film articles and posted it at Wikipedia:WikiProject Films/Films based on books/Splits. Feel free to take a crack at it. Her Pegship 13:24, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

Tawkerbot warning

Your recent edit to Love was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to recognize and repair vandalism to Wikipedia articles. If the bot reverted a legitimate edit, please accept our apologies – if you bring it to the attention of the bot's owner, we may be able to improve its behavior. Click here for frequently asked questions about the bot and this warning. // Tawkerbot2 15:55, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

The Tawkerbot detected a vandalism revert I attempted which actually went to another vandalized version of the page. So it mistook me for a vandal. Buchanan-Hermit™..SCREAM!!!.... 15:58, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

I got a good laugh today...

User:UberFriechen (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) (apparently created for vandalism) started slapping {{delete}} tags on a bunch of articles. I left the user this message. This was the response... :D RadioKirk talk to me 23:20, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

I knew you'd say that... :P ;) RadioKirk talk to me 01:51, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
In that case... we now return you to our regularly scheduled vandalism. ;) RadioKirk talk to me 12:27, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

VandalProof 1.1 is Now Available For Download

Happy Easter to all of you, and I hope that this version may fix your current problems and perhaps provide you with a few useful new tools. You can download version 1.1 at User:AmiDaniel/VandalProof. Let me warn you, however, to please be extremely careful when using the new Rollback All Contributions feature, as, aside from the excessive server lag it would cause if everyone began using it at once, it could seriously aggitate several editors to have their contributions reverted. If you would like to experiment with it, though, I'd be more than happy to use my many sockpuppets to create some "vandalism" for you to revert. If you have any problems downloading, installing, or otherwise, please tell me about them at User:AmiDaniel/VP/Bugs and I will do my best to help you. Thanks.
