December 2023[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Doug Weller. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Moorish Science Temple of America, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Doug Weller talk 09:57, 28 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I understand I may not have done it accurately but I need a little bit more help with navigating.
I have all the articles, links, and documentation necessary to substantiate my edits. I also am a card-carrying Member of The Moorish Science Temple of America and a Regionally known Clergyman within the religious society. Bro. D. Kinsey Bey (talk) 02:59, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at 2024 Portland, Oregon, mayoral election, you may be blocked from editing. Doug Weller talk 10:02, 28 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

With 2024 Portland, Oregon, mayoral election was properly sourced information.
I am employed with REAP Inc as a Youth Essentials Coordinator in DDSD (David Douglas School District) these are facts.
Also my campaign website is as follows; https://www.durrellformayor.com/
So please sincerely help me understand what I did wrong. Bro. D. Kinsey Bey (talk) 02:57, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Besides any other issues, you aren't allowed to promote yourself on Wikipedia and need to comply with WP:DISCLOSE.
You should add the userbox mentioned there to your User page. You also added material not in the cited source, which I've removed. Your website does not comply with WP:RS as it is self-published. This is simply how we work. You really do need to understand our sourcing policy if you want your edits not to be reverted (removed). Doug Weller talk 13:17, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, but a recent edit of yours to the page 2024 Portland, Oregon, mayoral election has an edit summary that appears to be inadequate, inaccurate, or inappropriate. The summaries are helpful to people browsing an article's history, so it is important that you use edit summaries that accurately tell other editors what you did. Feel free to use the sandbox to make test edits. adding information is clearly not a typo Doug Weller talk 10:03, 28 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop. If you continue to violate Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy by adding commentary and your personal analysis into articles, as you did at Moorish Science Temple of America‎, you may be blocked from editing. Doug Weller talk 10:04, 28 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Bro. D. Kinsey Bey. I have reverted your edits at Moorish Science Temple of America, because they are quite problematic. Examples from the beginning of the article: the sentence "He based it on the premise that so called African Americans are descendants of the Moabites and thus are "[[Moors|[Moorish]]]" by ethnicity,Moorish American by nationality,Islamic by faith, and Islamism being their religion referred as the "Old Time Religion"" is now very hard to read, the link is messed up, and the statements are no longer congruent with the source provided. You have then added a lot of opinionated material to the lead section, where you changed the carefully phrased and sourced statement that The Moorish Science Temple of America claims to be "the ONLY Moorish Science Temple teaching the full National side of the Moorish Movement" to instead stating, in Wikipedia's voice, that "There is only one Administration organization with its general headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland, with a legal and lawful claim as "The Moorish Science Temple of America" with a filing [what's that?] in Cook County, Illinois, as Noble Drew Ali instructed the organizational leaders and members to be structured, NOT with any Secretaries of State." This statement of opinion is completely unsuitable for an encyclopedia. As for using ALL CAPS for emphasis in order, I suppose, to argue with the previous version, it's quite inappropriate. And so on. Please slow down. I would advise you to gather more experience with smaller edits before changing so much in a single article. Bishonen | tålk 09:58, 28 December 2023 (UTC).[reply]
