History

Orange Lutheran opened its doors in 1973 and the school consisted of nine classrooms, a library, and a few laboratories in two hallways. Later years saw the addition of two more hallways, a patio and a gymnasium.

In 2000, Orange Lutheran increased in size by adding new faculty offices, an expanded parking lot, and five new classrooms. In 2001, the campus added a second story, ten new classrooms, a multimedia resource center and a football/soccer field with state-of the-art artificial turf and an all-weather track.

In the fall of 2003, the Alexandra Nechita (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexandra_Nechita) Center for the Arts (http://www.goldstar.com/venues/orange-ca/alexandra-nechita-center-for-the-performing-arts) opened in the space once occupied by the old gym in the heart of the school The 740-seat performance hall is home to drama, dance, instrumental and vocal music productions, guest speakers and special chapel services.

In 2014, Orange Lutheran completed its latest renovations as part of the “Beyond Expectations” (http://www.ocregister.com/articles/school-631360-project-stafford.html) campaign, which added 40,000 sq. ft. of new buildings to the school’s footprint. The project broke ground on June 25, 2013 and includes a new academic center, three new classrooms, and new collaborative meeting spaces for students, teachers and parents, in addition to the student commons, a 12,900 sq. ft. covered lunch area with couches and televisions. The school also added a new practice gymnasium and weight room.Brantleyw (talk) 21:51, 8 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
