If you were reading the Wikimedia-SF mailing list lately, you would know what's going on. I would let it go. —Kurykh 01:25, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

Edits by 166.128.223.182

Greetings. I saw that you reverted edits by 166.128.223.182 as vandalism. They don't look like vandalism to me -- at worst, I would call them good-faith edits. But even more, I actually think he has a valid point that he explained pretty well in the edit summary. Regards, Mlouns (talk) 02:15, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

I apologize; I'm a bit too trigger happy with the rollback VANDAL button. :( BoL 04:37, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

Two questions

Hey ;) It's been a while since I was on your talk page, but I'm back to leave you a note containing two questions. First of all there is this user User talk:Kintetsubuffalo who seems to behave a little bit weird, at least in my understandings. I created the article about Ginty Vrede and I think unless it's a small article and English still isn't my native speaking language it's a pretty good one. For some reason this user gave it a "peacock terms" tag and I wasn't really able to find out why, so I left him a comment, asking what he meant and why he did it like that adding an ugly tag instead of just changing the parts he was talking about, specially when it's such a small article. Anyways, he didn't respond to me at all, but he did remove my text from his talk page, so I wrote him again and told him I was going to delete the tag. Again he removed my text without explanation. I think this is weird, but maybe it's just me, I don't know. Anyways, my question is, what do you suggest me to do with this person? My second question is, you created me an archive or something like that for my talk page, but it hasn't archived anything yet, so probably you made a mistake somewhere. Can you help me? Thanks, AmandaT/C 16:31, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

I'll take a look at it. If he/she continues to ignore you, contact GlassCobra. He's an admin and I am not. BoL 00:06, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
I didn't really try to contact him anymore because he did not put the tag I was talking about back into the article after I removed it. I guess it's all fine this way, but if he does something weird again I will let you and GlassCobra know, thanks. AmandaT/C 08:20, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
The person who put the tag, is he/she an administrator? I think you're still a newcomer, we have a strict policy against biting newcomers. I suggest you take it up with him, then if it doesn't work, I'll come in, then I'll try to get GlassCobra in. BoL 03:38, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

Question?

Do you have any ideas for a balsa wood bridge presetations? It is urgent. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.38.98.233 (talk) 19:45, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

We have the bridge, all we need is an idea for how to present it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.38.98.233 (talk) 15:10, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

Cut and paste move

Hi. Do not cut and paste articles to move them. Use the move button otherwise the edit history is lost in the move. I've fixed Fresh & Easy. Cheers. Mark83 (talk) 12:22, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks. You know, I was going to move it, but I had to have a page deleted, so that's why I did it. Cheers, BoL 03:38, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

following up

Hi again, I was actually on deadline at work, but I'm still here working on the piece. Thanks, MaryMarynega (talk) 18:30, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

following up

RE: Telling people whether they want to work on articles may violate our WP:COI and WP:SPA policies.

Hi again, Blow of Light. I'm sorry--I'm not trying to violate any policies. I've thought about editing entries, but I'm now on deadline at work and haven't been able to yet.

Best, MaryMarynega (talk) 18:45, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

Don't worry about that now. I've already got you cleared by an admin, and should you get blocked, forward them to this user. BTW, is it possible to get a tour of the SF Weekly? Just wondering... BoL 20:24, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

Bethlehem Steel

I hope you've noticed, before adding your image, that the reason the page was protected in the first place was because of image crowding and one user's stubbornness regarding this. I'm glad you added your image, because it's something new and different and has terrific quality. But I was wondering if you could assist in the de-crowding of the page by moving some to a commons page for Beth Steel. Thanks, please see the talk page if you haven't already for more information regarding the debate. NcSchu(Talk) 01:51, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

That's true. That was the place Bethlehem Steel used to have its offices in. I have a lot more from that here and someone on Flickr managed to get in to that building here. Enjoy! BoL 06:27, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

IRC Cloak Request

I confirm that my freenode nick is BoL, and I would like this to be my cloak. Thank you. BoL 06:31, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

your email?

Hi BoL, I got this message when I tried to send you an email from your user page: This user has not specified a valid e-mail address, or has chosen not to receive e-mail from other users.

Would you be able to send an email to me (mary.spicuzza@sfweekly.com) so I know how to get in touch with you? Thanks so much, MaryMarynega (talk) 17:20, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

I have a direct link to my e-mail address on the "contacting me" section. BoL 02:35, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for dealing with this guy here. I really appreciated it. also on a side note, that's the first legal threat that I have ever had. *throws some kind of party, involving cake*.--KerotanLeave Me a Message Have a nice day :) 03:01, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

You're welcome. Did he ever stop or a block got him good and she won't do it anymore or what? BoL 04:45, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
No apparently they are taking legal action. see here. Its sad really, because despite what the user says about knowing how wikipedia works, they clearly don't. But I am going to avoid saying anything further that might agitate the situation.--KerotanLeave Me a Message Have a nice day :) 11:18, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

On the contrary, BoL, I think you handled that quite badly. It's blatantly clear you've learned absolutely nothing about biting users, and baiting trolls. How in the world is "if you do it to me, it won't be pretty" supposed to be constructive? "Stop making [threats] or we'll return the favor"? Come on, man, get your stuff together. You're getting down to everyone's last nerve. This is why we have standardized warnings like {{uw-legal}}. From now on, you just leave the warning and move on. If I catch you making any more snarky, biting and/or baiting comments, I'm blocking you. Period. GlassCobra 17:34, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

Oh well, let them take legal action against us. Just ignore them. And as for GlassCobra, yes, I made that [threat] because she was making threats. I should have reminded that person "If you don't want your writing to be edited mercilessly or redistributed for profit by others, do not submit it." Is that still biting? But, that's why legal threats are serious, so, yeah. BoL 00:24, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
Just because someone else is making threats does not mean that you make threats in retaliation. This is the lesson that you so desperately need to learn. When someone is making threats, vandalizing, or trolling, you do not sink to their level. You revert, you get them blocked, and you move on. You don't banter with them, and you don't bait them by telling them what would happen if they did something. This is your last chance. GlassCobra 03:30, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
That's why there's a ubox on the header of this page. BoL 03:43, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
Don't pawn your problems off on someone else. You've been here for months; you need to own up to this yourself. GlassCobra 05:35, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

User talk page deletions

talk pages are almost never deleted... It depends on how you define "almost never"

From a less-than-24-hour period from yesterday, not including author requests, page moves, or IP pages. --Calton | Talk 01:43, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

The reason why I said "almost never deleted" was the fact I forgot to mention Category:Temporary Wikipedian userpages. My mistake. BoL 01:58, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

Message on top

Hello. I was wondering, why do you say that SineBot unblocks a vandal when people don't sign their comments? I know for a fact that he doesn't, and blatant lies on your talk page are not good. Keilana|Parlez ici 03:45, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

It's a joke. I'm not the only one that does it, though, FastLizard4, WODUP. What should I do, say that he eats you? BoL 05:18, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
Whatever may be the considerable objections that some have had to certain of BoL's actions and more relevantly even to the large header that once adorned this talk page, I cannot imagine that anyone should object to the return of the "unblocks a vandal" phrasing, which is plainly consistent with a common humor meme. Joe 07:03, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
It's been removed for a while now. BoL 18:55, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

Pictures

Have you gotten the pictures for the Millennium Tower, 555 Mission Street, and the Infinity (specifically the under construction second tower) yet? Thanks. Cheers. Trance addict 06:12, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

Millennium Tower and 555 Mission. Where's the Infinity, I keep forgetting to get the images, particularly because I go other places to fill up my Flickr and Commons galleries. BoL 06:23, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
Done for Millennium Tower, ClockC for 555 Mission, ClockC for the Infinity and the other pics. BoL 06:37, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
Thanks, it would also be nice if you can get a panorama of San Francisco from Treasure Island or Twin Peaks to replace the now outdated panorama on List of tallest buildings in San Francisco. Cheers. Trance addict 07:27, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
Oh yea, if you don't know where the Infinity I & II are, they are the pair of rounded green towers going up one block inland from the Embarcadero near the Bay Bridge approach. The address for the complex is 300 Spear Street and it is located on the southeast corner of Spear and Folsom. Consult this thread for further clarification. Cheers. Trance addict 07:35, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
I'll try today, but I got some stops to go by. BoL 18:55, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
There's no hurry, so just take your time. I will be coming back to SF this weekend, so I can cover you if you don't get the pictures. Cheers. Trance addict 23:23, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
You'll see San Francisco changed a lot. You heard this morning the Oceanic left? BoL 05:30, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

External map service links

Hello. You have been identified as having added or removed direct external map service links in articles[9]. There is a discussion at Wikipedia talk:External links#Issues with inclusion or exclusion of map service links about which should be done, and some more opinions would be good to find community consensus. --Para (talk) 22:59, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

Another editor has added the {{prod}} template to the article Rashidul Bari, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. MY Talk Page

I am curious why you took Billy T. Fried's comments off my talk page. First, this matter was "resolved" without any input from me -- it's my Talk page, afterall. Second, the discussion about this matter occurred in Handling sock puppetry (block review), not in a forum set aside especially for this matter to be discussed. Third, how can something Billy T. Fried wrote on my Talk page constitute an attack by me against him? That's absurd. Fourth, I am the subject of a tabloid article in the SF Weekly called "Wikipedia Idiots: The Edit Wars of San Francisco", and I have parred down my Talk page to items that pertain to that article in case readers of that article want to come to my Talk page to see my side of the story. Billy's comment on my Talk page was mentioned in the article. In fairness to me, readers of that article should be able to see what Billy wrote and judge for it themselves, not judge in the light of how the author of the article presented it. In order for readers to see my side, Billy's comment has to be where readers can find it. That's only fair to me. Griot (talk) 06:36, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
You're not the only one pissed with Mary Spicuza, we ain't socks of each other, right? (I'm mentioned on page 4). Oh, and I apologize for the revert, I didn't realize you added that back, and hope she doesn't do a follow-up. BoL 02:33, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
