April 2024[edit]

Information icon Hi Biohistorian15! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Murray Rothbard that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Thank you. BBQboffingrill me 19:12, 1 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You're right, I've been using the feature erratically. I'll try to stop. Biohistorian15 (talk) 19:49, 1 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

wikihounding[edit]

I saw your comments about wikihounding and suffered similar behavior. [1] . I think a case should be raised with WP:ANI . I noticed on that user's talk page they have a history of accusations of harassment. Tonymetz 💬 01:12, 2 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. However, regardless of quality, since my edits are primarily political in their focus, I don't really think I should be the person to advance something like that. If you already made the complaint, I'd be happy to support you; just link it here. But I think it would be best, for now, to see if Fred understood my message and actually stops. Biohistorian15 (talk) 06:15, 2 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

'That "get off my talk page!" stuff is a - soft - violation of wiki policy too.' No, it isn't. Don't post on Fred Zepelin's talkpage again; you're not welcome there. Bishonen | tålk 18:14, 2 April 2024 (UTC).[reply]

Hm, I was certain I had read that somewhere... Biohistorian15 (talk) 13:08, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
posting to a user's talk page to address their behavior is appropriate [1]. What's your recommendation to address the issue? Tonymetz 💬 19:01, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Tonymetz 💬, if you think a user's behavior is inappropriate, I suggest you go post at WP:ANI. I'm quite sure you're very familiar with that page, as you demonstrated an expert level of Wikipedia knowledge within your first few minutes of creating your account. Well done, that. Fred Zepelin (talk) 21:31, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
according to the policy[2] step 1 is talk page step 2 is further escalation (including ANI)
I'm here to defend @Biohistorian15's approach to address the behavior issue on your talk page. Tonymetz 💬 22:28, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
and since you chimed in @Fred Zepelin , it's inappropriate to threaten others with "get off my talk page" when they raise specific issues with you in accordance with the RUCD policy. @Biohistorian15's complaint was about specific behavior.
Your talk page is for others to communicate with you about your editing behavior. That is what it is for. Tonymetz 💬 22:31, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I would cool it with the constant accusations a bit here, Fred. I'm writing a thesis on Wikipedia and have been reading all kinds of stuff about the project. Biohistorian15 (talk) 07:54, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your email[edit]

Hello, Biohistorian, and sorry for the late reply. Having read your message, there doesn't seem to be enough information for me to do a deeper investigation with CheckUser. You may want to file a sockpuppet investigation if/when you have accumulated greater evidence – User:Blablubbs/How to file a good SPI is a good guide for how to do that. Thanks, Sdrqaz (talk) 23:37, 26 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

No worries. In retrospect, the user is likely not using sock-puppets, it's just that their edits are extremely biased and I couldn't believe they would stay up without some special help. In reality, it's just a small clique of power-users with good connections to some admins that's responsible, and I'd likely soon be banned if I raised the issue on any other noticeboard. But thanks anyways. Biohistorian15 (talk) 10:28, 27 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
