Someone deleted my references so i rolled the article back. But thanks for your help with english grammer; i need to pay more attention to that. —Preceding unsigned comment added by I have a dream81119 (talkcontribs) (moved here from the archive, where it was mistakenly posted)

Not a problem at all. For future reference, by the way, you're better off posting on my Talk page, rather than in the most recent Archive. BigHaz - Schreit mich an 21:40, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

Hello! I did send you an email per your request on my talk page and am notifying you here as well, also per your request. Have a nice night! Sincerely, --Le Grand Roi des CitrouillesTally-ho! 02:37, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

Dušan Nenković

I'm afraid I don't speak Serbo-Croato-Bosno-Montenegrin (or whatever it's called nowadays), but I do have a smattering of a couple of other Slavic languages. Combine that knowledge with googling around and it's possible to come up with a rough idea what's going on in that article. I suspect the subject's name is really "Dušan Nenković". He was indeed a football coach in Yugoslavia, Egypt and France (his name turns up on our page for Stade Brest 29 as "Dusan Nemkovic"). Borderline notable then, but this reads like an obituary although I have yet to find the source. That suggests copyvio to me. I'd be hard put to translate it fully anyway. The most I could do is to create a stub for this guy with info I've found on the Net. Cheers. --Folantin 13:20, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

A stub would be a great result - particularly if the other option is a foreign-language copyvio :P BigHaz - Schreit mich an 22:15, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
Someone's deleted the article. Oh well. If he's famous enough I'm sure a user will create a proper article eventually. At least it saves us the trouble of deciding whether he was a Yugoslavian or a Serbian football coach! (Cue ethnic conflict on the talk page...) --Folantin 07:10, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Ah well, such is life. At least it wasn't still a copyvio, let's look on the bright side. BigHaz - Schreit mich an 07:51, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Hello! I know you're busy elsewhere right now, but the link in the header was created as a place to add info about Sámi-related articles that are missing, need more info, need to be reworked, etc. Feel free to add articles that you feel should be there if you can think of any. Everyone working on the project is busy with other commitments, so the work is progressing slowly, but surely. I'm not sure if this falls outside of your sphere of interests, but I thought it'd be a good idea to let you know in case it didn't. -Yupik 15:25, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

Linguistics and the Book of Mormon

Ich schreif sie wel an - or at least that is my best guess of how to reply to "Schreit mich an". Now that you point out that potential interpretation, I suppose it is justified to let the debate run its course. Thanks for your response. - Reaverdrop (talk/nl) 03:24, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

Ah, u spreekt Nederlands. Mijn Nederlands is niet zo goed als mijn Duits, maar ik kan de taal verstanden. It's all good regarding the AfD discussion. My guess is that it'd get closed as a snowball keep by another admin when they came upon it. It just happened to be first man on the scene. BigHaz - Schreit mich an 03:48, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
Copy vio I may have noticed

Please compare Alfonso esposito with this page. Thanks! --Le Grand Roi des CitrouillesTally-ho! 00:55, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

Done. For future reference, if you're concerned about a possible copyvio (i.e. you don't know if it's absolutely a copyvio), then you're probably better off listing it at this list here, where someone will get to it pretty rapidly - copyright being a very important thing and all. If you're dead certain it's a copyvio (as that one was), just add the "db-copyvio" tag to the article and mark which page it's a copyvio of. That way, whoever's running through the CSD listings will see it and zap it. You happened to catch me at a good time to zap that one, but there's no guarantee when I'll log in and see anything on my Talk page right at the moment. BigHaz - Schreit mich an 01:13, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

Bourne Article

Now that I think about it, I think it was either in a deleted scene in The Bourne Identity or the ending scene in the Bourne Identity. If you're sure that it was in the Ultimatum (I haven't seen it yet so I don't know.) then it probably was and his name was revealed in the deleted scenes only. Bella Swan 16:12, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

I saw Ultimatum on the 18th, so I hope it's still fresh enough in my mind to be sure :P BigHaz - Schreit mich an 21:18, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, now that I think about it, it probably was in the deleted scenes, which probably doesn't count as actually being 'in the movie'. Did you already revert the edit? Bella Swan 00:22, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
I did, yep. Can't remember doing so, but it's in my contribs. BigHaz - Schreit mich an 01:01, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

A Matter of Life and Death Songs

Do you understand that the information is verifiable, is important, is related to a highly notable subject, and is to large to merge onto the albums page. If it is none of those things then tell me why not and why you felt the need to propose their deletion.--E tac 17:42, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

Don't take that tone with me. I've proposed the deletion of the songs because they don't seem to pass the criteria for songs at WP:MUSIC. The information's welcome to be verifiable, and I'm sure it is. Its "importance" is an open question and ultimately a subjective one. That it's too large to merge is neither here nor there, since that could just as easily demonstrate that it doesn't need to be anywhere. The fact that it's related to a highly notable subject is also irrelevant - Iron Maiden is notable, their albums are likewise, but I don't see any evidence that every song they've ever recorded is. BigHaz - Schreit mich an 22:34, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

AFD

So in the discussion it's only the delete side who has the right to win the discussion? West Coast Ryda 22:08, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

No, not at all. To take our current AfD as an example, what you and the others arguing for it to be kept need to do is to provide non-trivial third-party reliable sources discussing the song. That means that the subject of the article passes the major threshold for inclusion and is largely an unanswerable argument. BigHaz - Schreit mich an 22:13, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

Musical Genres

I notice the following in the deletion log:

22:22, 19 September 2007 BigHaz (Talk | contribs) deleted "List of musical genre attributes" ‎ (expired prod)

Is this information somewhere else? I notice that the "BPM" and "Tempo" pages link to this page and I remember it having useful information when I've looked at it in the past. I couldn't find discussion on why it was deleted (perhaps because the talk page was deleted too...) What happened? Thanks! Shkoo 12:10, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

It was a Prod, rather than an AfD, so you wouldn't find a discussion hanging around. It was deleted because it was entirely unsourced and original research. BigHaz - Schreit mich an 22:54, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

Sorry!

Heh, I think I got a little too fast while reverting vandalism and hit a wrong button. How I did what I did...I have no clue. :) I'm very sorry. *Cremepuff222* 01:48, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

Don't feel bad about it. That "Twinkle" script is a powerful tool, and I've made the odd over-enthusiastic mistake with it too. No need to apologise, since no harm was done. BigHaz - Schreit mich an 01:49, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

???

What are you talking about?--E tac 08:09, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

I'd warned you about remaining civil when you first posted on my Talk page, as well as when you decided to resort to name-calling in the AfD. Given that you seem prepared to continue with that behaviour, you should be aware that you've been warned on a number of occasions. BigHaz - Schreit mich an 08:27, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
Well I never saw your response to my first post on your talk page. Now that I do I find it rather humorous you found that comment to be uncivil in anyway and that you somehow detected a "tone". Please explain. I apologize for my borderline "name calling" in the afd since you seem to have taken offense to it. You starting deletion reviews for a large quantity of articles all at the same time is rather uncalled for and it frustrates me and I take offense to that. It may have been more civil to take these one article at a time, some of us have jobs, hobbies, family, friends, girlfriends, school, and other things that we do outside of wikipedia that take up time and it is pretty unfair to just put a page up for deletion without attempting to fix the article through tagging with the proper tags and discussing it on the article talk page first.--E tac 08:50, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
In relation to your original comment, the fact that you'd bolded various parts of it suggested that you were talking down to me. If that's not the case, I'll gladly rescind that first warning.
  • I was bolding what I thought my key points were, not trying to talk down to you. Although I was upset I don't think I was being uncivil.--E tac 09:12, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
In relation to the idea about taking the articles one at a time, I'm not sure that would have been a good idea, since it would have taken forever. As it is, the three albums with tracks being AfD'd now is slower than I would ideally want to go, but I think everyone would lose track if I went any faster. Additionally, there may well come a time when there are a number of songs which even you would agree are non-notable, so you might find that it works to everyone's benefit simply to leave the Prod tag there in the first place. Not that I'm saying you did the wrong thing this time round, of course. I also have other commitments, so there's no need to believe that you're the only one in that boat.
  • Well it might take longer but it would definately make for a more thorough review for each individual article. It might not be as fast but I'd rather it be done right instead of quick.--E tac 09:12, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
As far as taking offence to an AfD/Prod being set up for an article, it's a bad idea to take this sort of thing personally. Consider it part of the learning process of Wikipedia - I've had articles deleted, merged, all kinds of things and I'm still here writing articles and so forth. BigHaz - Schreit mich an 08:57, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Only 1 of the articles is mine so it is not mereley a personal thing. I just think wikipedia has a chance to be the greatest source of knowledge out there and if everything has to meet a strict set of criteria (I understand you need some sort of guidlines and you can't have just anything in wikipedia but it seems that popularity is often much much more important than verifiability when it comes down to that stuff) that will never happen.--E tac 09:12, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
    • When I say "don't take it personally", I guess I mean more along the lines of "don't be frustrated as a result of it". In terms of popularity VS verifiability, I take your point, but when there's simply nothing out there source-wise, an article is usually not the best option. In fact, under most circumstances, it takes forever for an article on a song to be spun out of an article on an album. BigHaz - Schreit mich an 09:16, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
      • Well all the info on the specific artticle These Colors Don't Run is from outside sources. It just isn't properley sourced.--E tac 09:25, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
        • I don't doubt that. The question is whether it's enough to confer notability on the song. BigHaz - Schreit mich an 12:00, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
