Welcome[edit]

Hi. I noticed your Draft:Bernard Sofronski article and wanted to mention a couple of things.

 • You should be aware of WP:REALNAME (click on the link). Though I don't currently see an issue with whether you are or are not the real Sofronski, it could come up at some point.
 • More importantly, and likely to be a problem, though, is WP:COS.
 • Part of proving notability is being able to cite multiple, independent, reliable sources that have written about the subject of the article, and can be used to verify facts stated. Almost everyone who's ever been credited with anything is in IMDB, and their editing of user contributions is thought to be too permissive, so that's not a great source. Articles in Variety and the Los Angeles Times, TV interviews, etc., are what are looked for.
 • There are a couple of style issues I'd like to point out:
 • References should not be used to link to other wikipedia articles. Instead, just use wikilinks. For example, instead of:
with Lee Strasberg
use:
with Lee Strasberg
WP:LINK describes guidelines for linking. Most importantly, only the first use in an article should be linked (with some exceptions). Also, if you want a link to appear differently than the article it links to, use a pipe to add your desired appearance, e.g. use:
Bill to produce: Bill.
 • The references that link individual films/programs/people to IMDB articles are mostly unneeded – just wikilink the film/program/person instead. For example, instead of:
Anthony Hopkins
use:
Anthony Hopkins
 • References are to appear following any trailing punctuation unless absolutely necessary for disambiguation (almost never). For example, instead of:
...some factoid, and factoid2. producing ...some factoid[24], and factoid2[25].
use:
...some factoid, and factoid2. producing ...some factoid,[24] and factoid2.[25]
This is one of those "it just looks better" issues, even though it's not logical.
These are all issues that are addressed in various parts of Wikipedia's Manual of Style.

Hope this helps. —[AlanM1(talk)]— 18:33, 15 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
