Hi, saw your message. The only issue with your contribution is that we need you to confirm your identity to the satisfaction of the OTRS staff. I thought I had taken care of the copyright issue with OTRS.

The article seems to have disappeared entirely from Wikipedia, though it does show up in answers.com.

Is there any way to get it up again in Wikipedia?

Wikipedia is still lacking an article on listenability, a feature of language that makes speech comprehensible.

I had written a good one that was adequately documented, but editors removed it on the pretext that I had quoted something I did not own. I had communicated with OTRS and explained that the quote in question, in fact, was taken from a 1776 English translation of Cicero's "De Oratore" that I had quoted on my own Webpage, http://www.impact-information.com. If one needs to cite a reference for something that has been in the public domain for centuries, I would be glad to do that, but the site has to be restored first. Speedy deletion nomination of File:Taiji softball.jpg

A tag has been placed on File:Taiji softball.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. If assume that on my talk page you are referring to File:Taiji softball.jpg then it is clear this image was copied from a copyright website and that is a copyright violation. We only accept freely licenced images, so you will either have to find such an image or go out and take a photo yourself. Unless an image is clearly noted to be freely licenced then it is copyright to somebody and you can't just copy and paste it here. Sorry. ww2censor (talk) 13:06, 30 September 2009 (UTC)

If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

Style

I don't want to put you off your fine work on History of Los Angeles, but it might help to leave a note about some of Wikipedia's particular "style" issues. WP:MOS. Many of the details are minor and can easily be fixed later, or even by a "bot". But one that you might want to take into consideration is the guideline on section headings. The house style calls for using "sentence case", meaning that only the first word and any proper nouns are capitalized. So "Civic Corruption and Police Brutality" should be "Civic corruption and police brutality". Also, unnecessary articles are undesirable. Instead of "The Early Pueblo" it's better to have "Early Pueblo". More complicated would be "The Coming of the Railroads". Is "the Railroads" a proper noun? It might be in this context but if it weren't then perhaps "Coming of the railroads" would be the result. I'll leave it to you to decide what's right for each heading. Ibid

Thank you for your contributions to Labeling theory. However, in the references, you write a lot of "ibid", and these are constructs that are discouraged by Wikipedia's style guide, because they are so easily broken. When the next editor comes and moves a section to another place, the "ibid"-reference follows, but is now underneath a different source. So could you please change your ibids into true references? Hi! I thought your addition to Grace Olive Wiley was interesting, but unfortunately, it's not the sort of thing we'd normally accept. Because of the nature of this website, it's important that everything can be verified in a previously published source. (See WP:V.) If there are any books or magazine/newspaper articles that could corroborate your account, we'd be just fine. No, I don't understand. The information I added was not just "interesting," it was critical, as the article previously had no information about Wiley's business in Long Beach. Why would my account be more credible quoted from another source than related here directly? Is a secondary source more reliable than a primary source? at some point you need to actually respond, thoughtfully and not dismissively, to what has been written to you here. As it is, your posts are degenerating into pure WP:SOAPBOX and the more that goes on, the more likely you are to face a topic ban for disruptive editing for violation of WP:TPG per WP:TENDENTIOUS (I recommended that you read that before, and you do not seem to have done so). I have not called names or talked abusively to others. I have been trying to get to the facts, to what your opinions are in regard to the original statements I made (which have been reverted.) I don't know how to be neutral without offending you. Please help me out. Your accusations of POV and tendentious only imply that you disagree with my statements, and that no matter how the material is stated, it will be censored.
