First, I just added the {{welcome}} template—yes, more boilerplate, I know, but it has a good list of links—to the top of your talk page, which includes links to, among other things, the Manual of Style.

However, for specific formatting tricks like you were asking about (e.g. ==Headings== or ''italics''), Wikipedia:Cheatsheet has a good list of those. Plus, it has more links there to other expanded guides. —C.Fred (talk) 15:28, 26 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
