Neo-Mandaic in Iraq

Hi, Aziz. I noticed that you added 'southern Iraq' as a place where Modern Mandaic is spoken to the article Mandaic language (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs). All the literature suggests that there are just a small number of speakers around Ahvaz in Iran. It also seems that, although there are substantial groups of Mandaeans in Iraq and in diaspora, that they use Classical Mandaic for worship, but do not know Modern Mandaic or use it in their daily life. The presence of Mandaeans who know Mandaic does not necessarily suggest a Modern-Mandaic-speaking community, as it is more likely that they know Classical Mandaic and use it in a limited sphere of life. Do you have any references that specify Modern Mandaic is spoken in southern Iraq? Thanks. — Gareth Hughes 13:56, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

Balu on the Akkadians

Hello, I am Balu, an Iraqi Arab. As i ahve noticed that you have been in a huge arguments with another user, but let me corect to you that . Akkadians are not Arabs, they are Semitics but not Arabs, Ask why? hehehe... well because therm "Arab" does orginally means thoose from Desserts, like thoose who lived in the desserts. In Akkad time Arabs where called nabataens. I think many people thinks all Semitics people are Arabs because Arabs are the largest leading Semitic people today. I hope this helped. Why Akkadians should be included in the Ancient Arabia article.

• The Akkadians lived in Arabia before they entered Mesopotamia. (even Elias himself knows that and admited to it)

below are links to neutral non Arab websites. The Akkadians Arabian origin, The Akkadians migration from ArabiaFirst result search for Akkadians

• The article is related to the ancient Arabs, not modern Arabs.
• The article mentions the (Akkadians only) as an ancient Arab tribe before entering Mesopotamia, the rest of the Mesopotamian tribes were not considered Arab. That still didnt work well for Elias!
• Elias simply made it clear that the Akkadians should not be mentioned in Ancient Arabia history just because they were not modern Arabs! although the Eastern branch of Semitic is extinct in the North and the only related languages are still spoken in Arabia Eastern South Semitic
• I also added a section that clearly states that modern Christian Assyrians, Arameans are not Arabs.
• Elias is currently Vandalizing another article I created Ancient Arabia (because he protected Ancient Arabs after merging it to PreIslamic Arabia). Although PreIslamic Arabia (refers to 'asr Aljahiliya) and Ancient Arabia starts from the earliest known civilizations in Arabia. And he deleted the Saudi Wiki project template(?)

Arabs didn't exist at the same time as the Akkadians. The ancient Akkadians lived in Arabia, spoke Eastern Semitic. Modern Assyrians speak West Semitic, Eastern Semitic only exists in South Arabia small groups Yemen and Oman today.

A look at Elias history and his sock puppet User:Dbachmann and you will se the organized extremist Assyrianist edits. He will not acept any evidence even if Sargon himself came to beg him to keep the article about his original homeland in Arabia, he will call Sargon an Arabist! And for the record look at my edits. I never delete any work, and my edits in the Arab article had teh ARab population at 200Millions instead of 350million because I disagree with imposing Arab identity on non Arabs. First of all, this source, makes it very clear that they aren't Arabs. It says, very clearly, that the Akkadians were a Semitic people living originally on what is now known as the Arabian peninsula. This is more like wishful thinking from Skatewalk that the Akkadians were Arabs. Second of all, he hasn't used academic sources (that source is apparently published by Washington State University, but it's just an essay or something, not exactly rock solid content). And really, User:Dbachmann isn't my sockpuppet. I dislike most of his edits, though we can agree sometimes, but that's very rare. Yes, all Semitic peoples probably have a common origin, since they after all, all speak Semitic languages. Doesn't make the Akkadians into Arabs, and they sure as hell didn't call themselves Arabs. • First of all it doesn't matter what race or group the Akkadians were they are still a part of Ancient Arabia history! Just like non Italians are part of Ancient Italy history.
• I am not really going to argue who the Akkadians were(because you already proved how closeminded you are in all your arguments with Arameans in other articles). One website said Semitic people living in Arabia, it didnt say non Arabs, the other websites said ancient Arab people and the map clearly puts them in East Arabia!. However, thats not the problem now. The problem is that you are denying the history of ancient Arabia.

Hi FayssalF, I will take your word for it, EliasAlucrad just filed a sockpuppet post against me!. (he listed my IP address _ofcourse it will show as mine! it showed up in few edits (never in reverts) it showed up because I forgot to sign in!

• and the other account is of friend I know (alameer). The third I dont know who? Maybe it was setup? to discredit me?, also please notice the last edit on the Arab article. It added by IP 66.171.223.109 the Babylonians and Assyrians are Arab. That was never heard off before and I reverted it so Elias doesnt come and use it as evidence that that IP is me!!.
• Because he has been trying to brush me with the Arabist brush. Although my history edits are all related to ancient Arabia and always oppoesed the Mass Arabization of on Arabs. Instead focusing on the people of ancient Arabia. (never did I mention Egyptians or North Africans as Arabs, I let them decide on their own and I never disrespected those who identify as Arabs, Egyptians or Berber.

Today the easiest thing is pick cheap shots against anything Arab (thats why Elias is so confident he can omit the Akkadians origin from every article, (I didnt even edited it in the Akkadians main page, although their origin remained mysterious, jut so I dont arouse their feelings and because it was a Mesopotamian page). However, Elias doesn't see any need to showrespect to Ancient Arabian pages and made a nam for himself by deleting efforts by atleast 7different users to improve the pages Ancient Arabia and Ancient Arabs. I will let yo to decide y yourself the true reason why Dbachmann joined him the Arab stabbing carnival...(you decide by yourself)

He deliberatley linkd Ancient Arabia article to the modern Arabs so he can get suport from the modern Anti Arabs, even if it was ancient history that doesn't relate anything to whats going on today! Elias made alot of enemies already and I refused to turn this into a piss-off game or I could easily joined the Arameans or Syriacs that he constantly offended by rejecting their self-identifying claims. I never imposed identity on any person. I only state historic facts that he knows! The message was abit confusing since I am not part of the argument. I agree with Cheldan that Arabia is different than Arabs since we are talking about a geographical term. Well the problem is that Elias is insiting that the Akkadians should not be included in the Ancient Arabia article, although they originated from Arabia. Myself I know that modern Arab is a cultural/political term that dont translate into the geographical Arabia we are discussing here. Elias is either confused or stubborn. I changed it to Arabian, User:Slackster suggeted that we change it to Arabian so it dont get confused with the modern Arab term. Not every Arab is Arabian and vs Versa. Even in some places of Arabia today (West Oman, East Yemen) they dont speak or relate to modern Arabs, instead they maintain an ancient Arabian language and identity --Skatewalk 23:20, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Improving the Egyptian article

Attempts to reduce the Arabic language status

A user known for his/her Anti-Arab agenda made it his/her mission to claim that all Arabic dialects are independent languages, starting with Egyptian Arabic dialect. Egyptian Arabic (Maṣrī مصري) is an Arabic dialect. has to be clearly emphasized in the Egyptian Arabic article

• The only language to branch out of Arabic is Maltese. Can you please help me organize these articles?.

Hi. I deleted Acrassicauda (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) because the article failed to assert the significance of the subject, therefore, meeting speedy deletion criterion A7. This means that the article didn't comply with Wikipedia:Notability (music). I strongly urge you to read that page. I do not know the standards of other language editions in terms of notability relating to bands and other musicians, although I am well versed in this Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Okay, well, feel free to rewrite the article including those facts. I deleted the article because it didn't assert significance, I am in no way denying the notability of the band itself. The version that I deleted had no references attached to it, and the claims in it weren't cited it. It appears the band is notable, but for the article to say, it must state exactly why the band merits an article. Spebi 09:53, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

What Arabia

Dear Aziz: The discussion about Arabia and its definition is leading to confusion and I suggest that you close it with your wisdom. Arabism and Arabia have long been discussed in the past and lead to nothing but confusion. I personally consider this discussion leading to nationalism and this is futile because there is no such a thing as Arab nationalism unless we consider the culture that created that togetherness. In this case, we do not have a choice but to recur to the political boundaries of the modern Arab countries. I personally consider the Somalis and the Sudanese as Arabs but also Iraq with all of its ethnicities. Nonetheless, Sargon of Agadee the first was the first Arab king ever. Think eras and periods: In the beginning, there was the language of Sam, place of birth unknown but it has evolved through the centuries with or without records to crystallize and beautify through poetry and trade until the Kuran came to put it together in written terms. Prior to Islam there was the language of Arabia with the various accents and dialects that colored the language landscape until today. The Christian kingdoms of Arabia are the witness of a great intellect of such a universal language but do not exclude the Phoenicians from this course (So-called by the European historians). By the time of Abraham and Moses, the Arabic of today was not spoken and we do not speak their tongue any more, except in Israel (Distorted Old Arabic). Please read my opinion about the Christian Arabs and their contribution to the Arabic literature and their origins. Also please read what I said about Lebanon, Byblos, Hiram, Hagar, Mecca and Abraham and cosider the timing to re-write the History of Arabia. Some political leaders in the Arab world do not know what they are doing but time will tell who is right and who is not. I suggest the re-thinking of the whole discussion because it belongs to a deep knowledge in the past and the present history of the Arab world. Again I repeat that the issue goes back to the Akadian start not the Islamic start. I can give you a hint about my thoughts: The clay tablets of "Northern Arabia" brought explanations to the Arab linguists about some Arabic grammar and vocabulary questions that were considered as "postulations" like the nominative (Raf'), the irregular (Takseer), the "A'jami". So who were the Phoenicians, the Akadians, the Assyrians, the Hadramis, etc... and what are we for them? Finally it is not a matter of ethnicity, it is a matter of an overall Culture. That is really unfair. I did not break any rules and the account which is allegedly mine is not mine. I don't even know that user. What kind of abuse has happened? What rules or policies were broken? admins and all other users should assume a good faith. This admin just made an assumption that this account is mine. IT IS NOT MINE. Also the admin who blocked me did not clarify how the other account was used abusively, Even though that account is not mine. I don’t really know what to say because that blockage was really shocking, injustice and totally wrongful. In addition I just moved house so I have to find somewhere else to contact you (check my Arabic user page where I wrote a note about this before I was blocked here). Can another admin do user check or whatever thing to appeal or prove that decision? And I’m sure they gonna find out that that user is totally different person. The Golan article has been taking over by Israelis and they have removed everything mentioning an occupation and changed it to "disputed" They have also removed the "the neutrality of this article is disputed" that was on top of the article while it is written in a completely pro-Israeli way. Ur photos

Sorry but I've removed the photos of Abraham's alleged house. See Ur Project, tour of UR. This is a "modern reconstruction of buildings along Paternoster Row makes that street stand out. These modern walls were built up in 1999/2000 in anticipation of a papal visit." Presumably several houses or other structures are part of that reconstruction, and I'm not at all clear as to who has suggested one of them was Abraham's. Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! 1953 Syrian presidential election

Hello. I was wondering whether you might be able to help with an inconsistency in this article. The votes according to the source do not add up. I suspect the book may have calculated the 'against votes' by deducting the votes for Shishakli (which seem to be mentioned by a few sources) from the total votes cast, forgetting that this figure would also include the invalid votes.
