Speedy deletion of Carla Prater[edit]

A tag has been placed on Carla Prater requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Helpme request[edit]

{{helpme}}

As my userpage indicates, I've come from another wiki, and am familiar with wikicode.

I also know another editor from here, but how can I avoid accusations that I'm a sockpuppet on here??

--Ashford1982 (talk) 09:45, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There should be no problem, if you explain what you have written above to any user who questions you. Users must assume good faith and in particular if you are being constructive, it is very unlikely that you will get any problems. If you have any questions, feel free to leave a message on my talk page. Tiddly-Tom 10:04, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

{{helpme}}

See above. Readded for second opinion. --Ashford1982 (talk) 10:14, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think the same way. Your knowledge of wikicode will not make you a sockpuppet. Sockpuppet suspicions only come from the subject matter. You are only suspected to be a sockpuppet, if you always share the opinions of another user. If you just work your own way, the community will be delighted of your skills but will not suspect you to be a sockpuppet because of it. Happy editing.--Thw1309 (talk) 11:36, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Death Coach, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.wyrdology.com/edinburgh/coach.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. February 2008[edit]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently copied the contents of a page and pasted it into another with a different name. Specifically, you copied the contents of Mount Vesuvius This is what we call a "cut and paste move", and it is very undesirable because it splits the article's history, which is needed for attribution and is helpful in many other ways. The mechanism we use for renaming articles is to move it to a new name which both preserves the page's history and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. In most cases, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. If there is an article that you cannot move yourself by this process, follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Requested moves to request the move by another. Also, if there are any other articles that you copied and pasted, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
The next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Chrysler Intrepid/w/, you will be blocked from editing. Gwernol 12:18, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Mount Vesuvius. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. Dekisugi (talk) 12:18, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 1 week in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for persistent vandalism. Please stop. You're welcome to make useful contributions after the block expires. If you believe this block is unjustified you may contest this block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below.

Gwernol 12:19, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I only moved the Mount Vesuvius page per an Armenia-Azerbaijaini editor's suggestion... well, it's not vandalism, it's just me trying to help. I did wrong, I just don't quite get Wikipedia.

Decline reason:

It's clearly more than that. Read Gwernol's comments below, and all the warnings above. Let me add to Gwernol's list: do NOT copy and paste content from other websites to Wikipedia: this violates copyright and if you continue you will be blocked indefinitely. Mangojuicetalk 15:07, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

  • You don't move an article by copy-and-pasting its contents to a different title; it destroys the article's history as it will be left behind at the old title. If you are unable to move a page, please go to requested moves or nominate the target title for speedy deletion using the {{db-move}} template. That said, you shouldn't have unilaterally moved the page - there's no consensus for doing that at the talk page. - Mike Rosoft (talk) 12:37, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Further to Mike's words of wisdom, let me be crystal clear about the problems with your editing:
  • Cut and paste moves are always inappropriate, as you were warned about
  • Whatever another editor might have told you, the article title you were trying to move the page to is incorrect. At the least "Mount" is an English word so cannot possibly have an accent over it
  • Revert warring is not permitted on Wikipedia
  • Creating nonsense articles like Chrysler Intrepid/w/ is clear vandalism
During your week away from editing here, I suggest you familiarize yourself with the basic rules of Wikipedia, so that when you return you are able to make constructive edits. A good place to start are the core policies that guide editors. Add in a little common sense and you won't go far wrong when you return. Thanks, Gwernol 12:44, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked[edit]

I take this edit as a confession, Sunholm, and have indefinitely blocked this account accordingly. Thanks, Sarah 01:06, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Coleen's Real Women[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Coleen's Real Women, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

non notable TV series

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Stormbay (talk) 03:06, 24 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Corporate firewall has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for discussion page. — This, that, and the other (talk) 11:21, 2 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
