Minor edits[edit]

FYI, any sort of edit which could be considered controversial by another editor (such as removing or adding NPOV tags and the like) should not be marked as minor. Minor edits are usually reserved for fixing punctuation, updating links, wikifying, and interwiki-type stuff. In addition, controversial edits should probably be given a description, so that others can easily see what you're doing. Failure to do this can be misinterpreted as a lack of good faith. Thanks for uploading Image:Three Dog Night - Hard Labor bandage.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

OCD, notable cases[edit]

Sight-Reading Link[edit]

Your removal of the un-discussed external link to practicesightreading.com recently added by 67.190.125.21 was well justified and consistent with article and wiki guidelines on un-discussed external links.

However, your simultaneous removal of the external link to sightreadingpractice.com was not consistent with the guidelines since that link had been available for discussion at Talk:Sight_reading#Pedagogy_External_Link for two months. I assume this removal was inadvertent and not intended to be a breach of wiki "discuss before delete" etiquette. The error is understandable because of the confusing similarity of the link URLs.

If you really did intend to remove sightreadingpractice.com, please move Talk:Sight_reading#Pedagogy_External_Link back to the Unresolved section of the talk page and present your arguments to the community. In the mean time, I will restore sightreadingpractice.com, while letting your removal of practicesightreading.com stand. We are looking forward to your future contributions to this article. You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Ear training. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. Are you shitting me? You delete a reference to a free ear training software but you're ok with the page mentioning only commercial softwares? Either you're working for the people behind Auralia/EarMaster/whatever either you're some kind of bot. In the future, use your brain, thanks. Ear-Training and COI[edit]

I note that you have disclosed that you have are the author of commercial ear training software and that you run a number of websites related to the topic. I also note that you have in the last 24 hours been involved in a reversion war which started when you removed sourced content from this article that deals with software packages. I am not passing judgement on the validity of any concerns that you may have with the content of the article, but the community has strong guidelines on conflict of interest to prevent editors from getting involved in the kind of dispute you are now embroiled in yet again. I have not had time yet to fully read all of the previous discussion that you were party to on this article back in 2008, but it is clear from reading your own admissions on your involvement with commercial products that you need to tread very carefully when editing this and other related articles. I would suggest that you immediately cease any edits that directly affect sections of content that concern other software packages, and confine yourself to bringing those sections up for discussion on the articles' talk pages where edits can be made by an uninvolved third party after consensus is reached. Continued editing, and especially the removal of sourced content when you have a self confessed COI is only going to cause continued disputes with other editors and likely result in an escalation of the situation. In addition, please stop indiscriminately adding hyphens to compound modifiers. Not every compound modifier needs one; please see English_compound#Hyphenated_compound_modifiers. I must take issue-- although not umbrage-- with your assertion that I add hyphens "indiscriminately." Although I agree with you that hyphens in certain of the instances I've added them may be argued as not strictly necessary, you will see that they are nonetheless correctly used in each instance. If they don't need to be there, I'm sure I don't care. Poking in hyphens as I poke around Wikipedia seems to be a minor habit I appear to have acquired recently.
