Conflict of interest and writing about a company[edit]

Hi! I just wanted to give you some information about editing with a WP:COI, since you stated that you work for the Interstellar Group.

The first and foremost thing you need to do is post that you have a conflict of interest on your userpage. This makes it somewhat easier for people to know that you have a conflict of interest coming into things. You can still edit with a conflict of interest, but it is recommended that you do so with caution since your edits will be held to more scrutiny than other editors.

I'd recommend that you work on creating your article for Interstellar Group at WP:AfC, the articles for creation process. This will give you a chance to work on the page at your leisure. Articles created through this process will be looked at by an uninvolved editor, who will either accept the article or decline it, hopefully with some in-depth feedback on why they declined the article.

You should definitely utilize the WP:TEAHOUSE, which routinely deals with editors who need assistance on how to edit and source articles. Another thing to look at are the training programs at WP:TRAINING and WP:ADVENTURE. I've been told that TRAINING is better, but ADVENTURE is more interactive - plus it also keeps a track of your progress, which can be helpful in showing good faith.

Now I've had to delete the article because it contained copyrighted material from the company's website. Please understand, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted materials per WP:COPYVIO. You can file a ticket through WP:OTRS that gives Wikipedia permission to use the material but this would not take care of the promotional tones, as most material is too promotional to add to Wikipedia "as is".

Also be careful on how you edit - Wikipedia is not a place to raise awareness for the company and should not be seen as an extension of the company's website. You need to be able to establish notability for the company by showing how it has received coverage in independent and reliable sources per WP:RS. Unless you can show that the company passes WP:CORP, the article will not be approved via AfC or have an article in the mainspace. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 09:18, 3 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Interstellar Group[edit]

Hello Antoniowuzheng,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Interstellar Group for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. OluwaCurtis »» (talk to me) 15:50, 3 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Interstellar Group Corporation, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://interstellargroup.net/about-us.html.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Interstellar Group Corporation requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interstellar_Group_Corporation. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
