Your edit to Antoine Williams[edit]

Your recent edit to Antoine Williams (diff) was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to recognize and repair vandalism to Wikipedia articles. If the bot reverted a legitimate edit, please accept my humble creator's apologies – if you bring it to the attention of the bot's owner, we may be able to improve its behavior. You had said in your edit to Antoine that you accidentally blanked part of the page and were having trouble undoing the accidental change. Please see Help:Reverting for more information. The short version is that if you (1) go to the "History" tab at the top of a page, (2) view the version that you would like to revert to, (3) click the "Edit" tab at the top of the page, and (4) save the page, that will revert the page to the older version. Please note that Wikipedia has a rule called the Three revert rule. It is against the rule to revert a page more than 3 times in one day other than to undo simple vandalism. I hope this helps! db[edit]

Hi,

it is considered improper to remove "db" from an article that you have created yourself. Instead of a "speedy deletion" of Antoine Williams I have now opened a discussion about its deletion, in which you may take part (until it is closed, which may be very soon). --Aleph-4 22:18, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Antoine Williams may not be sufficiently well-known to merit articles of their own. The Wikipedia community welcomes newcomers. On Wikipedia, all users are entitled to a user page in which they can describe themselves, and this article's content may be incorporated into that page. However, to merit inclusion in the encyclopedia proper, a subject must be notable. We encourage you to write or improve articles on notable subjects.

Re-creation of deleted article[edit]

It appears to me that an article on Antoine Williams was deleted, and then you re-created it as "article in progress". This is not the proper procedure. Your alternatives:

  • If you think that the original deletion was improper, you can list the dispute at Wikipedia:Deletion review.
  • If you understand the original deletion but you think you can overcome the notability issue by adding additional information (with the sources cited), you may do so. The original deletion prohibits re-creation of the deleted content, but new content on the subject is permissible. To follow this course, however, please don't use Wikipedia as a scratch pad. Work on a new version on your hard drive. When you think it establishes notability, post it.

I have a slightly different opinion. I think it is reasonable to use Wikipedia as a scratchpad, but certainly not the main article space. If you want to start writing an article about Antoine Williams, I suggest to create a page in User space, for example User:AntoineJ/scratchpad. Once you are done with your contribution, you can copy the content into article space.
However, in case you are Antoine Williams, please read WP:AUTO first.

Good point. I stand corrected. The scratchpad approach suggested by Aleph4 is a good idea. JamesMLane t c 13:42, 15 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Antoine Williams, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article is a repost of either already posted material, or of material that was previously deleted under Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion. If you can indicate how Antoine Williams is different from all other articles, or if you can indicate why this article should not be deleted, I advise you to place the template {{hangon}}, and also put a note on Talk:Antoine Williams saying why this article should stay. An admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 4 under General criteria. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. We welcome your help in trying to improve Wikipedia, and we ask you to follow these instructions. Subwayguy 01:43, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

BLOCKED[edit]

Think we can't find your edits? Wrong-o. This account has been blocked from further editing and all edits reverted. - Lucky 6.9 01:43, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

\When in an editorial dispute, it's usually best to observe the following guidelines:

  • Solicit feedback and ask questions on talk pages.
  • Keep the discussion focused. Concentrate on a small set of related matters and resolve them to the satisfaction of all parties.
  • Focus on the subject rather than on the personalities of the editors.

Thanks, and happy editing! Subwayguy 02:03, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the e-mails. I'm assuming good faith and unblocking the account. Please do take a moment and read the tutorials before proceding, OK? - Lucky 6.9 03:13, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re. your little addendum to my above comment: I spell a LOT better than that.  :) - Lucky 6.9 03:14, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

CAN YOU NOT REVERT THE PROPOSED DELETION TAG?[edit]

You think this is a good article?

""Like a Boy" was rumored to be the next single off Ciara's album Ciara: The Evolution, but uncertain."

Huh?

Please stop reverting the delete template —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ashuduff (talkcontribs) 04:09, 24 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]

Request for Adminship[edit]

It is my regretful task to inform you that I have closed your request for adminship early as unlikely to achieve consensus. Please do not be discouraged; a number of users have had their first RfA end without consensus, but have been promoted overwhelmingly in a later request. Please continue to make outstanding contributions to Wikipedia, and consider requesting adminship again in the future. You may find Wikipedia:Guide to requests for adminship helpful in deciding when to consider running again. If I can be of any help to you, please do not hesitate to ask.
