Hi, first a general comment: I've worked a bit on taxonomy and nomenclature matters in wikipedia, and my feeling is that it is still quite a serious tangle, and will take long and careful work to fix. Every tiny issue is very difficult to fix, I find. In the meantime, there are some things missing from your template, things that are listed at Taxonomy. Thanks for your feedback. I agree that the taxonomy and nomenclature pages are complicated and not all are clearly differentiated (at least to the non-specialist). I fully anticipate merges, splits (and debates over lumping and splitting), and additions, and this template can change along with such. Rather than try to untangle the web, this will hopefully highlight the major strands. Having key terms in a centralized box can aid casual and specialist readers, and may help identify future opportunities for improvement/refinement. I can include Linnaean Taxonomy and Evolutionary taxonomy, although such topics are discussed under Biological classification and Taxonomy. Things like chemical and military taxonomy are outside the scope of this template. --Animalparty-- (talk) 02:09, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, sorry about the unclarity, didn't mean to suggest that non-biological taxonomy should be added. Sminthopsis84 (talk) 16:53, 5 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
