March 2014[edit]

Hello, I'm Jim1138. I noticed that you made a change to an article, She Wolf (Falling to Pieces), but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Jim1138 (talk) 06:17, 22 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please cite sources[edit]

People want to be able to verify information on Wikipedia. So, significant edits need have their content cited using reliable sources. See verifiablity. This means that information must be published, and presumably vetted, by reliable groups and individuals. What you should do is to locate a source that supports the edit you wish to make. Then add a citation to that. Peruse wp:welcome to learn about editing Wikipedia. You can also visit the Teahouse for information and assistance. Jim1138 (talk) 06:30, 22 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This is the final warning that you will receive regarding continued genre changing without discussion or sources. If you choose to continue, as you did at Alternative hip hop, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. STATic message me! 00:57, 23 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please also see WP:GWAR. I have reverted your unexplained changes to Part of Me (Katy Perry song). There was also a note in the page specifically stating to read the composition section before changing the genre section. XXSNUGGUMSXX (talk) 03:16, 23 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please provide reliable sources for your edits to the acid house or any other page. Thank you.

Genre changes[edit]

Andrew, if changing genres in album or sing articles, please explain why you are doing so by using edit summaries. You've been repeatedly asked to provide explanations, and continuing to do so is not going to be taken well, and can get you blocked from editing. Please also read WP:GWAR, which indicates not to do keep changing genres without consensus/explanation. Thank you. XXSNUGGUMSXX (talk) 01:39, 27 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked temporarily from editing for abuse of editing privileges. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.  Elockid (Talk) 03:52, 27 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I will say it again, DO NOT KEEP CHANGING GENRES WITHOUT CONSENSUS/EXPLANATION. Your WP:GWAR actions are concerning. XXSNUGGUMSXX (talk) 23:17, 29 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you.

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to change genres without discussion or sources, as you did at Telemiscommunications, you may be blocked from editing. Jim1138 (talk) 05:17, 30 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Recess (song). Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Jim1138 (talk) 05:28, 30 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop[edit]

Andrewbf, wikipedia is a work of consensus where you need to work with other editors to make changes and to improve articles. I see that you have recently been blocked for abuse of editing privileges and since your block released you have continued to change genre on music articles without discussion.

Please stop. It is a waste of your time and everyone else's having to revert your edits and leave warnings because you will just end up blocked again. It's time to work with other editors. Flat Out let's discuss it 12:34, 30 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Andrewbf, I am Diannaa and I am an administrator on this wiki. As you may have noticed, all your genre changes have been reverted. All edits to Wikipedia require sources, including genres of songs, albums, and musicians. Please don't make any more changes to Wikipedia without sources. To do so will likely lead to a block. Thank you, -- Diannaa (talk) 22:56, 30 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

April 2014[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Jim1138. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Traditional pop music, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. You have been blocked from editing for a period of one week for unsourced changes to genres on music articles (genre warring). Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.  Diannaa (talk) 23:00, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Andrewbf. Your block has been extended for another two weeks since you have been evading your block by editing as an IP. While blocked, please take the time to learn more about how to edit here, particularly our guidelines on reliable sources, edit warring, and original research. If the same pattern of genre warring resumes when your block expires, your next block will likely be indefinite. -- Diannaa (talk) 16:23, 8 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

As you've now used multiple sock accounts, I've changed this block to indefinite. Kuru (talk) 01:12, 21 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
