Cameroon articles[edit]

Hi, Andrew! I just wanted to welcome you to Wikipedia and tell you "good job" for your work on Alfred Saker and William of Bimbia. They're articles I've been meaning to turn my attention to for a long while, so I'm glad to see someone finally give them some fleshing out. I may add still more to the William article based on the same sources I used for Duala peoples. So do you have any particular connection to Cameroon, or are you just interested in the history of missionary work there? Well, see you around! — BrianSmithson 16:22, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Small postscript: I notice there are no sources listed for William of Bimbia. Would you mind adding whatever your source was to that article to form a "References" section? That way we won't be in breach of Wikipedia citation policy. Thanks, — BrianSmithson 16:24, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, this is exciting! I am getting some recognition! I am quite encouraged. My interest in Cameroon comes from my girlfriend (for many years now) who is originally from Yaoundé. I am originally from Wisconsin, so we have learned quite a lot from each other. She attended the Alfred Saker College in Limbé in the 1990s and is now living in the states. I tend to become interested in just about anything unfamiliar and found the dearth of information about Cameroon on the web a bit disappointing. I've been mostly just experimenting with Wikipedia, but your kind words certainly encourage me to get quite a bit more involved. I will be sure to add a reference to the William of Bimbia article as soon as I am back in the states. I am in England right now on business and the internet connection at this hotel is dreadfully slow. Again, thank you so much for the comment. It absolutely inspires me to do much, much more with Wikipedia. Andrew Spencer 22:56, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, Andrew! You are completely correct about the paucity of Cameroon-related information on the web. Is your girlfriend Ewondo? I wrote that article (actually Beti-Pahuin), so maybe you'd be interested to check that one out. I met many, many wonderful Ewondo during my stay in Cameroon! Tell her I said "Mbolo"! — BrianSmithson 23:39, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer be able to have them marked as minor by default. For more information on what a minor edit is, see WP:MINOR or feel to get in touch.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 22:06, 13 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
