Hello, Amadeniran. It has been over six months since you last edited your Articles for Creation draft article submission, "Florence Gabrielle Abiola Adeniran".

In accordance with our policy that Articles for Creation is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Puffin Let's talk! 08:54, 26 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The article Florence Gabrielle Abiola Adeniran has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline and the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (biographies) requirement. If you disagree and deprod this, please explain how it meets them on the talk page here in the form of "This article meets criteria A and B because..." and ping me back through WP:ECHO or by leaving a note at User talk:Piotrus. Thank you.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Thank you for your reply. To keep the article, we indeed have to make a series of improvements. Most importantly, the article has to have verifiable (online) and inline footnote to the claims present in it. Who says, for example, that she "the first female Director of a Nigerian health management board in 1986"? And who says it was extraordinary? Who says she was "the only woman in medical school in West Africa from 1948 to 1953"? "The person is regarded as an important figure among peers and successors." - according to whom? You make a lot of sweeping statements, but we need sources for them. Your own opinion, just like mine, don't matter much on Wikipedia (through if you can prove you are an expert on a given topic, it will matter a bit more, through we have to keep this in mind). Coverage in "Life Magazine (May 4, 1953), Africa A Special Issue" is a very helpful indicator, but as the issue is not available without a subscription ([1]), it is a bit difficult to verify (through hopefully someone can access the subscription and provide screenshots of the relevant pages for our discussion). If you can address notability by providing more sources discussing her importance, we have to work on neutrality. The article is not neutral, has several non-neutral adjectives and statements: " her researches contributed greatly", "she sought and worked assiduously", "Dr Adeniran had been a leading light in" - those are all promotional, vanity words, see WP:WTA for more on how to rework prose. Finally, while Wikipedia recognizes the existence of WP:SYSTEMICBIAS and has projects dedicated to help such as Wikipedia:WikiProject Women or Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa where you can ask for more help, it is not our role to correct those biases: we are an encyclopedia. We report on the world as it is described by reliable sources. We do not carry or publish original research, see also WP:NOBLE. -PS. I have converted the existing references into proper format, adding title, etc. WP:BAREURLS are bad style. Please try to format your future references properly - ask me if you need help in doing so. -Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 05:23, 30 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
