Removed message

Why did you remove my message? You acted mean to me and now you're trying to get rid of the evidence? Is that it? 80.47.36.165 (talk) 16:59, 5 August 2014 (UTC)

Who's this? I don't know this guy and I have to get rid of you of leaving a message on my talk page! --Allen talk 17:10, 5 August 2014 (UTC)
We were speaking the other day. How can you not remember me? 80.47.36.165 (talk) 17:32, 5 August 2014 (UTC)
Who are you? --Allen talk 18:41, 5 August 2014 (UTC)
You should know who this is. We spoke yesterday and you said some very mean things to me. And when I told you you just said thank you. 80.47.36.165 (talk) 21:23, 5 August 2014 (UTC)
I didn't said mean things to you, I'm somewhere else editing on Wikipedia. --Allen talk 21:26, 5 August 2014 (UTC)
We spoke yesterday. You said some mean things to me, I told you about it and then you just said "Thanks for replying" and went off. And it's the second time you've done it. 80.47.36.165 (talk) 00:51, 6 August 2014 (UTC)

Uh, is that Crazy sam10 from Wikia? --Allen talk 02:02, 6 August 2014 (UTC)

No, but this is a user. I'm sure you must remember me. But if you can't remember me then I honestly do give up. 80.47.36.165 (talk) 03:29, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
Yes, I do remember you but leaving Wikia to close my account there and start editing here to be more comfortable. I feel great on Wikipedia as well getting rollback rights here. I'm straight at English and professional Russian for the anime show for My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and Pokémon, I love it here.
I'm going to miss you and Callofduty4 so much that I have a good time over there! :( --Allen talk 04:28, 6 August 2014 (UTC)

You said "Why have you become so mean? You've managed to hurt my feelings at least twice when talking to me." when you left a message on my talk page for the first time I'm leaving Wikia. For twice other users who abundantly miss me from the Call of Duty Wiki and My Little Pony Wiki and I managed to edit on Wikipedia only. --Allen talk 04:39, 6 August 2014 (UTC)

That's not me. I am another user. 80.47.36.165 (talk) 04:46, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
Oh, so you're another user like you're from Wikia? --Allen talk 04:54, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
As in, I am not the user you seem to think I am. 80.47.36.165 (talk) 04:57, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
... alright, I'm doing something else and thanks for your advice here. :) --Allen talk 05:02, 6 August 2014 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for August 7

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited International broadcast of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Pop, AT-X and Boing. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 08:54, 7 August 2014 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for leaving a new message on my talk page. For my recent edits, Wikipedia loves me helping and noticed when editing articles containing links should be okay with the page that is disambiguated. Such as the channel links on Wikipedia, it should be exist. --Allen talk 15:53, 7 August 2014 (UTC)

Signatures with containing images

@Lucas Thoms: When it contains an image that the picture exist of embedding the image, should be either using a signature template or the substituted one (containing large character in it). I saw it on Wikia with their images exist like Pony or Pokémon images used on signatures, so maybe they've used it here on Wikipedia. --Allen talk 16:17, 9 August 2014 (UTC)

You can't have any image or any external link in your signature, whether it's substituted or not. —LucasThoms 16:52, 9 August 2014 (UTC)
On Wikipedia according to WP:SIGIMAGE, the signatures does not contain any images there. And WP:SIG#EL, no external links or they'll take the link as spam or advertising. --Allen talk 17:01, 9 August 2014 (UTC)

Image containments

@Anon126 and Jonny Manz: So why not including your image in your signature because it may contain an external link or a large characters in it? --Allen talk 16:17, 9 August 2014 (UTC)

Read my message up there, please. --Allen talk 17:01, 9 August 2014 (UTC)
WP:SIGIMAGE explains that they cause an unnecessary drain on server resources and can be distracting. Wikia may have less restrictive policies on this, but this isn't Wikia. Anon126 (notify me of responses! / talk / contribs) 19:04, 9 August 2014 (UTC)
Some policies from Wikia applying here are restricted and doesn't look like the same, so WP:SIGIMAGE is right on Wikipedia. --Allen talk 19:56, 9 August 2014 (UTC)

Comfortable on Wikipedia

I feel comfortable here on Wikipedia to be safe rather from Wikia, also I don't get attacked by users. --Allen talk 01:10, 12 August 2014 (UTC)

Please keep in mind that I want to stay on Wikipedia not on Wikia due to devolving personal attacks there including others who rioting on Wikia! --Allen talk 05:30, 14 August 2014 (UTC)
Ah, the Allen Riots of 2014, I remember them well. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 18:53, 14 August 2014 (UTC)
@Bobogoobo: What are you doing here on Wikipedia? They have rioting on Wikia, so Wikipedia is different than Wikia and they feel comfortable of editing here! --Allen talk 22:15, 14 August 2014 (UTC)

Image uploading & embedding

Should I either upload an image to Wikipedia, or embed an image using a template that is seen below? --Allen talk 23:46, 12 August 2014 (UTC)

As you already learned ({{ResizeImage}}), there is no way to embed an external image on Wikipedia. All images have to be freely licensed* and uploaded to Wikimedia Commons (or Wikipedia).—LucasThoms 00:39, 13 August 2014 (UTC)
Or maybe using MediaWiki instead to embed an image there that should be working. --Allen talk 00:52, 13 August 2014 (UTC)
Nope, that feature was disabled on Wikipedia, in order to make sure that all content is acceptably licensed.—LucasThoms 00:56, 13 August 2014 (UTC)
Why that feature's disabled on Wikipedia, maybe it's not installed or something? So I upload images onto Wikipedia and give creative commons attributions license! --Allen talk 04:16, 13 August 2014 (UTC)

Important notice

You need to stop breaking this policy. 89.241.54.158 (talk) 12:46, 15 August 2014 (UTC)

First of all, it's not a policy. It's not even a guideline. It says, in no uncertain terms, that it is solely an opinion-based essay. Second, it also says that you should never* tell someone that they're lacking competence. Why? Because it's not civil to tell someone "Hey, I think you're too much of an idiot to use this site." (Yeah, that's how I read your message up there.) By the way, civility is a policy, and it's a pretty important one.—LucasThoms 14:42, 15 August 2014 (UTC)
That's my important notice, like I want to stay on Wikipedia and feel more comfortable of editing here. But not on Wikia because they have riots there. --Allen talk 17:56, 15 August 2014 (UTC)

Rollback rights

I would have to request for rollback rights on Wikipedia for using the undo tool, however attaining 200 main space edits will be granted for the rollback tool. --Allen talk 16:20, 19 August 2014 (UTC)

If I remember, you recently had a request for rollback and it failed. Please do not request again - or, not until a while has passed. Getting those 200 mainspace edits does not guarantee you having those rights.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.212.6.87 (talk)
Yes, but only if I have 200 main space edits on articles then I might be granted with rollback rights on Wikipedia as well with the indeed undo tool. --Allen talk 22:43, 19 August 2014 (UTC)

Semi-protection of my user and my user talk page

Get an admin on Wikipedia to semi-protect my user and talk page because of personal attacks from other users from Wikia they got riots there which is too risky conflict, so that's I want autoconfirmed users can edit my page without being attacked. I want my pages semi-protected by an admin as requested (including my subpages) with infinite/indefinite amount of time.

--Allen talk 10:03, 20 August 2014 (UTC)

Not done: requests for increases to the page protection level should be made at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection.—LucasThoms 11:27, 20 August 2014 (UTC)
My both user and talk pages should be semi-protected to avoid any personal attacks on Wikipedia from Wikia with rioting conflicts and too risky, so this is a request at WP:RFPP. --Allen talk 21:39, 20 August 2014 (UTC)

August 2014

Images have been removed from your user sandbox because they are licensed as non-free. Wikipedia's non-free content policy states:

Copyrighted images under fair use are only allowed to be used in articles about the subject of the image. For example they are not allowed to be used on user pages, in lists, or (typically) in biographies of living people.

As a result, although users are often given a great amount of latitude in the type of content that is allowed on their user pages, it is requested that you abide by this policy and refrain from including non-free images on your user pages. Feel free, however, to add images and media files licensed under other terms. For more information, see Wikipedia's non-free content policy and an accompanying essay on the removal of non-free images. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. —LucasThoms 00:38, 21 August 2014 (UTC)

@Lucas Thoms: Hi, but why you removed non-free images from my sandbox? However it's non-free so I changed the info box of removing an image over there as it was copied from the article. --Allen talk 00:53, 21 August 2014 (UTC)
Non-free images like those can only be included on their article. Any other pages can link to them, but cannot display them. See this page for more information.—LucasThoms 00:55, 21 August 2014 (UTC)
Yeah, I see. But the info box including images on user pages isn't allowed so I would view it in the article only. --Allen talk 01:06, 21 August 2014 (UTC)

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. I am glad to see that you are discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages such as Talk:Wikia are for discussion related to improving the article, not general discussion about the topic or unrelated topics. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. Thank you. —LucasThoms 00:43, 21 August 2014 (UTC)

@Lucas Thoms: I explained it, but Wikia is different than Wikipedia as of a general policy. --Allen talk 00:53, 21 August 2014 (UTC)
If you're not talking about how to improve the article, you're not using talk pages appropriately. It's that simple.—LucasThoms 00:55, 21 August 2014 (UTC)
It's simple of using article talk pages related to the article only. But I use talk pages for commenting as it was related to the article or having updates or news there. --Allen talk 01:06, 21 August 2014 (UTC)

Babel userboxes

Some of users on Wikipedia used babel templates like {{User en}} or {{User el-5}} as they speak English, Greek or another language in very easy way. As well colors of the language templates are:

  • 0 - Doesn't Understand or Considers Difficult to Use (GRAY)
  • 1 - Basic/Beginner (LIGHT BLUE)
  • 2 - Intermediate/Normal (CYAN)
  • 3 - Advanced (BLUE)
  • 3b - Advanced (GREEN)
  • 4 - Near-Native/Expert (YELLOW)
  • 5 - Professional (RED)
  • 5b - Professional (LIGHT RED)
  • N - Native (LIGHT GREEN or AQUAMARINE)

...are the correct way to use them on language templates including Greek and Portuguese are 3b which is green instead of using blue. --Allen talk 21:13, 21 August 2014 (UTC)

Sockpuppetry

Allen, you can't sign out of your account and pretend to be someone else. That is called sockpuppetry and is a serious breach of both community trust and policy. It can and often does lead to being blocked. Be careful. Seriously.LucasThoms 02:32, 22 August 2014 (UTC)

@Lucas Thoms: Hi, I just remember that user wasn't respecting me on article talk pages like the airport articles was a problem of removing my content. So you're helping me is great, but I don't have to pretend to be someone else like signing out of my account and do something like that, that might be causing a serious problem of this policy. --Allen talk 03:15, 22 August 2014 (UTC)
It's okay to be unhappy with someone. It's not okay to break Wikipedia's policies to prove that.—LucasThoms 11:36, 22 August 2014 (UTC)
Yep, I explained WP:POINT was the policy rule on Wikipedia and doing myself for respect. --Allen talk 13:00, 22 August 2014 (UTC)

Backup song lyrics

While backing up the song lyrics on Wikipedia, it should be either exist on my subpage or other article pages! I just backed up the lyrics onto my text file which is a lyrics section copied from an original article seen at this page! --Allen talk 07:04, 22 August 2014 (UTC)

Closed captioning transcripts

Should I ever copy the transcripted page with closed captioning to Wikipedia where in the game, episode or film? From this page was a closed captioning transcript of the film, so it goes against other Wikipedia's policies that I don't copy the transcript. --Allen talk 01:51, 23 August 2014 (UTC)
