April 2020[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Ifnord. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Noel Gallagher, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source, so I removed it. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! Ifnord (talk) 17:15, 23 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

April 2020[edit]

Hello Akelrimla. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat SEO.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Akelrimla. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Akelrimla|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Praxidicae (talk) 21:15, 27 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

-With all due respect you are reading this situation wrongly, as there is CATEGORICALLY no paid advocacy related to this article. I am surprised with this conclusion from your end and respectfully request more civilty as I am beginning to feel personally attacked by non based assumptions. I have zero intention to continue editing here as your last paragraph automatically raised a wall of prejudice. You can not simply make these kind of allegations and expect to be dictating who keeps on editing just because you have certain beliefs. I hope for this not to be the general behavior amongs wikipedia staff, because it would only push away people that are REALLY trying to contribute on this site with the purest intentions. You were probably expecting someone to react in a vandal way, but my education does not allow me to go further. I will stop here and let the others (if there are others) to judge from their point of view. Best regards, stay safe!
