Jeschonnek[edit]

Claims a source is wrong needs to backed up by more than one other. Bradley Lightbody isn't an authority on the Luftwaffe. James Corum and co are. Dapi89 (talk) 06:52, 11 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Suchenwirth, p 181: Hans Jeschonnek, son of an assistant secondary school master, was born in Hohensalza {502} on 9 April 1899. He had three brothers and one sister by his father’s first marriage, and four more brothers from his father’s second marriage, yet he was always much beloved by his parents. So the source does suggest it twice. Perhaps there are pages missing from your copy? Dapi89 (talk) 07:17, 11 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

And James Corum is not a KM expert either. Trivia can be wrong even for the most well-respected scholars as shown in the case of Samuel Mitcham claiming Gert to be the son of Hans. And besides those mentions that were clearly by mistake there’s no references either in books, articles or contemporary newspapers or broadcasts that had even mentioned a son, only a daughter to be sure. Also someone familiar with KM has checked the crew list of Bismarck and there’s no one named Jeschonnek on it.

And where did Suchenwirth say he’s the child of which wife? Dr Jeschonnek only married his second wife Anny Gardiewski in 1909 (with proof of document) so how could she ever be the mother of a child born in 1899? Airakale (talk) 13:30, 13 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
