While some of us, me included, use their hosting services and also may use them to proxy communications, they are in no way an "open proxy". In order to proxy communications I must first create a SSH tunnel, which doesn't seem like an "open proxy" to me.

I was actually disturbed to see the block message today while attempting to contribute to an article before I logged in. I don't have a problem with logging in, and I'm not exactly sure what prompted the actions... but banning two giant swaths of ip ranges to solve a problem created by a few people seems like a strange policy.

In response to the decline of the unblock: Just because my personal account isn't blocked doesn't mean I may not want to edit pages (semi)anonymously some time in the future. Too bad I'm not the one who made this decision.
