Thanks @Kvng I looked at the article you suggested but it is not quite the same. This article is focused on the assignment of classes and properties from ontologies to semi-structured data (e.g., CSV files) while the other article talks about annotations in different domains and not about the generation of annotations (which is not necessarily the same). There is almost no intersection between the two. I believe this should be a separate article similar to text annotation and web annotation articles. My assessment was supported by the fact that Semantic annotation WP:REDIRECTs to Annotation. Articles in an encyclopedia often cover multiple related subjects and I thought this might be feasible here. An article that introduces itself as "assignment of classes and properties from ontologies to semi-structured data" will not be accessible to most readers but if covered as part of an article on "extra information associated with a particular point in a document or other piece of information", readers might have a better chance to get a toehold. I have familiarity but not expertise in this area. If you are convinced there is no overlap here, I won't try to refute that. ~Kvng (talk) 02:05, 5 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
