Welcome[edit]

Welcome
Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but your addition of external links to articles seem to be for advertising or promotional purposes. Wikipedia does not allow advertising in articles. For more information on this, see

If you still have questions, there is a new contributor's help page, or you can write {{helpme}} below this message along with a question and someone will be along to answer it shortly. You may also find the following pages useful for a general introduction to Wikipedia.

I hope you enjoy editing Wikipedia! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome! Bláthnaid talk 09:28, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

August 2008[edit]

Please stop. If you continue to add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Urban agriculture, and multiple other articles, you will be blocked from editing. DGG (talk) 23:23, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits. The next time you insert a spam link, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites as well potentially being penalized by search engines. Once again, please read WP:EL and WP:NOT for information about acceptable links. Mindmatrix 13:20, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for making exclusively spam edits on multiple pages. If you believe this block is unjustified you may contest this block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below.

{{unblock}}

The logic behind the spam guidelines is the same even if it's for a non-profit organization. The big thing here is that they saw you putting the link back in without trying to explain yourself first. If you can refrain from adding the links back into articles, and instead propose the addition using the articles' talk pages, then you'd probably be unblocked. -- Ned Scott 07:06, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Guys I'm contesting the block as I haven't published promotional material as you assert. We are a group of people passionate about green roofs, vertical gardens, urban agriculture and so on and we run an informative and educative blog. There is no advertisiment, only informations regarding where the industry is heading. We are not either selling nor making advertisement, we only publish informations and updates of the above industries. We are a non-profit group and our blog doesn' make any money for us. The only purpose for it is educational and informative. It is a pitty you are blocking us with no REAL fundament. I hope you can understand we are genuine.

Decline reason:

I agree with Ned Scott's comments - in order to be unblocked, at the very least, you would have to commit to stop adding your blog to articles without discussion. — PhilKnight (talk) 12:50, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Dear Scott and Phil thanks for your messages. I apologize but this way of editing and doing things here is very complicate for me, also because english is my second language. So, what do you reckon I should do? I didn't get what I should do. Our group is non-profit and we are not selling advertisement, only making education and information via our website. We are also associated to the Australian Green Roof Association. Kind Regards, Antonino

Decline reason:

The above response already says what you can do; make a promise not to add links to your blog to Wikipedia- if your blog really is the best source of information, you can suggest on a talk page that someone else add it. — FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 14:08, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Guys I didn't understand why I cannot add my Blog to Wikipedia when there are so many websites liking in Wikipedia and have the same kind of structure my website has. There are also commercial websites linked in wikipedia under the Green Roof cathegory like this one: www.grassroofcompany.co.uk . Whay are they in and my website that is not of commercial nature is banned? Can you explain me what is wrong with my webiste? Can you also explain me what do you mean with "suggest on a talk page that someone else add it"? Sorry I don't understand what I should do. Thanks!

Decline reason:

Nobody is allowed to insert their own blogs, websites, or anything of their own into Wikipedia. There are a number of reasons for this, but suffice it to say it's part of our culture. Instead of putting your link on, for example, Roof garden, you need to instead put a comment on Talk:Roof garden asking unbiased third parties to consider whether a link to your blog should be inserted. --jpgordon∇∆∇∆ 04:45, 22 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

{{unblock|Thank you very much! Now I understand the whole process. Sorry but english is my second language and all these strange symbols you have to use confused me heaps and therefore didn't read. I apopogize. I ask to be unblocked and to behave properly from now on, following the rules and be more fucussed. Thanks!!!!}}

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

Okay, I've agreed to unblock you based on the above promise. Consider this your last chance, though: if you return to inappropriate edits you will be blocked again, and that block will probably not ever be reversed. Mangojuicetalk 14:58, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 01:47, 1 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
