Go through our online training for students.

If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Please also read this helpful advice for students.

Before you create an article, make sure you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.

Your instructor or professor may wish to set up a course page, if your class doesn't already have one. It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}} on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment. This will let other editors know this article is a subject of an educational assignment and aid your communication with them.

We hope you like it here and encourage you to stay even after your assignment is finished! Stuartyeates (talk) 07:00, 25 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Longtailshrew.jpeg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Longtailshrew.jpeg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 03:00, 7 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Sore disp1.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Sore disp1.gif. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 04:05, 7 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Good Luck[edit]

This is missing a lot of information. Don't try to fix it all. Add a little of the most important things. My suggestion would be to think about what you would want to know if you had to write a quick paragraph explaining what a shrew is. Good Luck!Elmarsh1 (talk) 04:33, 11 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sorex dispar (Long-tailed Shrew)[edit]

I moved the page to Long-tailed shrew as there shouldn't be two articles about the same subject. The long-tailed shrew was the older article so that is probably the more common name. It also allows for all the history to be kept. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 09:07, 11 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
