Good job

Good job creating building and a list article, but I would suggest using The Skyscraper Center as a go-to first-line source, they are now the database for the CTBUH. Emporis is riddled with errors and SkyscraperPage is often outdated and also often flawed. Skyscraper Center is not perfect but much better than the former sources. B137 (talk) 02:18, 17 September 2015 (UTC)

Will do and found that out when some of the buildings didn't match current names and information. Adog104 (talk) 02:21, 17 September 2015 (UTC)Adog104

Speedy deletion nomination of Dwarkadheesh temple, Gujrat

The article Dwarkadheesh temple, Gujratwas created because originally it was named Dwarkadheesh temple only and there are two major Hindu temples with same name. The second temple with same name is the one I just created named Dwarkadheesh temple Mathuraand named it so just to distinguish between the two. Therefore I rename dthe old ane as such with Gujrat sufix and the original name was used in the Disambig page pointing to both the articles.

Further one more point to be noted that there are many other temples also in India with the same name, and reserve the use of the same name in future also. Therefore the future pages will continue to be made with the location suffix and a link in the Disambig page.

I have been a noted contributor in Hindi wiki for long and had been a bureaucrat also there. So I knew the practice of the disambig pages. Although some new change might not be known, which I can be aware if needed. --आशीष भटनागर (talk) 03:27, 3 October 2015 (UTC)

Matador Shot

The Matador Shot does not appear to repeat an already existing article if you read the article. The Matador cocktail has three ingredients. Whereas the Matador Shot has eleven ingredients and is prepared considerably different. I do not understand why this has been tagged for deletion. RoyalMatador (talk) 03:35, 3 October 2015 (UTC)

Thanks

You noticed a mistake I made so quickly I didn't have a chance to fix it. Thanks! Thmazing (talk) 22:34, 11 October 2015 (UTC)

Thmazing; Yeah no problem! Since I look at patrolling new pages, I feel that edits are needed to make them appear better to the community that may have minor or big mistakes whether intended or not. Adog104 (talk) 22:43, 11 October 2015 (UTC)Adog104
There are pretty much always mistakes---or at least spots for improvement. That's pretty much my Wikipedia Article of Faith. Thmazing (talk) 22:55, 11 October 2015 (UTC)

THANK YOU from me also. :}~kay

WP:PROD

You may have noticed that I reversed your edit at Make a wifi connection. Per WP:PROD, "Any editor may object to the deletion by simply removing the tag; this action permanently cancels the proposed deletion via PROD." If you have any questions, please read WP:PROD and let me know. Thanks... reddogsix (talk) 23:53, 18 October 2015 (UTC)

Gotcha, but reinstated your proposal earlier, author deleted it. Adog104 (talk) 23:54, 18 October 2015 (UTC)Adog104

Oh, I'll remember that next time. Sorry! Adog104 (talk) 00:17, 19 October 2015 (UTC)Adog104

DB-A7

Hello, thanks for doing new page patrol. One note on A7 speedies, they are intended for a very specific set of circumstances: people (single or groups), companies, web sites, and events. A bunch of your recent A7s do not fit those circumstances. The one who keeps copying her patents in, that's not A7 even if the concept itself is non-notable (though actually G12 - copyright violation - applies there), and the one about how archery is like bow hunting, again that's not an A7. I would probably tag that one as A10 (recent article that doesn't tell us anything that can't be found in another article, in this case Archery). I know from doing patrol for a while that some articles just need to go, but don't think of A7 as a "generic bad article" tag. Few articles are so bad that sending them to AfD is too slow. Just some advice! CrowCaw 22:14, 27 October 2015 (UTC)

Got it, Crow! Fixed as of 22:56, 27 October 2015 (hopefully as the right DB's). Thank you again Crow and I'll make sure to use this as a reference if I come across a situation again, sorry.Adog104 (talk) 22:58, 27 October 2015 (UTC)Adog104

Wikipedia Asian Month is COMING!

Hi Adog104 ,

The Wikipedia Asian Month will begin in less than an hours, and once again, thank you for signing up! Let's help the world know more about Asia! Below are a few reminders for you:

  1. Please check out the rules here. Some rules have been adjusted—the most important being that on the English Wikipedia, stubs may be expanded with some limitations.
  2. Do take the time to read the Q&A if you have any questions, or ask on the talk page.
  3. The list of participants has been alphabetized so you can more easily find your name and report your contributions.
  4. There is a template that you can use on your user page. {{Template:User Asian Month‎}}

Speedy deletion nomination of Majestic International Cruises

Hello Adog104,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Majestic International Cruises for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. TheLongTone (talk) 15:43, 6 November 2015 (UTC)

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from a page you have created yourself. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Contest this speedy deletion which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Sorry, but it's not your call. The company does not seem notable to me based on the article content. TheLongTone (talk) 14:33, 9 November 2015 (UTC)

@TheLongTone: Well it doesn't have to be notable to just only you, it has to be notable by WP:NOTE. And I didn't read it carefully when removing it so I'll admit that was my mistake. The article was also red-linked to other ship/cruise related articles which was why I stated in the creation. I also intend to fix it later as I posted the 'expand section' to the history which isn't near completed, but I have to deal with other article talks and activities that prevent farther improvement as of now. And no, I did not remove the template this time as an admin reviewed it and deleted the speedy. Adog104 Talk to me 20:23, 9 November 2015 (UTC)

Frozen CSD

Hi Adog104. Just to let you know, I've removed the speedy deletion templates that you added to the page List of Frozen characters, because I felt they didn't apply. See my comments at Talk:List of Frozen characters. Since I am not an administrator, I don't mind you restoring the tags if you disagree, or alternatively, you can nominate to WP:AFD. Basically, I think the list has a significant potential to be expanded, so that should be prioritized over deletion. Best, Mz7 (talk) 03:58, 11 November 2015 (UTC)

Gotcha @Mz7:. Adog104 Talk to me 19:31, 11 November 2015 (UTC)

Hi how are you? I just wanted to start a conversation if that is okay with you. SwagMaster2030 (talk) 21:39, 11 November 2015 (UTC)

I guess that's ok, and I'm good. Are you? Adog104 Talk to me 21:41, 11 November 2015 (UTC)
I'm good. I was looking through your user page and found that you are very active in Wikipedia. Good Job! Since you are clearly and expert at this, I was wondering if you could help me find out whats wrong with my user and talk pages. Whenever I click on them, it ways that they are unavailable. Can you please help me? Thanks so much in advance! SwagMaster2030 (talk) 21:50, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
I would love to help, I just may be busy as there are lots of things I'm going to deal with (including Majestic's deletion and other Wikipedia deeds), but I will help as soon as possible! Also thank you! And I wouldn't exactly say I'm an expert, yet. Adog104 Talk to me 23:16, 13 November 2015 (UTC)

Prod tagging

I've noticed several times lately that you've added {{Prod blp/dated}} directly to articles. Please follow the instructions on that template and use {{subst:Prod blp}} instead. Thanks. Anomie 12:10, 19 November 2015 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Space top

The article was speedied a couple of times, but I think you can still see a video of it:File:Space top.webm. Probably that file should be deleted too, but I don't know how to do it. ubiquity (talk) 21:31, 7 December 2015 (UTC)

Me neither, but I did find this page which I think its how to delete the file @Ubiquity: if you want me to nominate it; and seems like a nice science invention that a teacher would show off, but it should be marked since its now an orphan. Adog104 Talk to me 22:14, 7 December 2015 (UTC)
my article is similar to Levitron, why my space top has to be deleted? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gyrotop (talkcontribs) 22:20, 7 December 2015 (UTC)
@Gyrotop:Presuming if the above is from the user who I marked earlier. I marked it for a speedy deletion due to it being written as a promotion for a product/patent that you may or may not own (which is WP:G11) and I marked it as it had not indicated why the product important besides that "this is my product and here's information about how to get it" (which is WP:A7). However your product seems to resemble a Gyroscope, just only created by yourself, which isn't really your product, but a recreation of something that has already been created (which I'll give you props for creating it, it did seem cool). No problem Cptmrmcmillan! Adog104 Talk to me 21:32, 9 December 2015 (UTC)

Thank you for your civility

Indeed, it was my fault to have created an article in the main space, instead of in my personal one (where there are 4 other drafts waiting). It was the first time it happened to me.

An brand-new serious Noticeboard challenge against me, to which I had to react in the background, may be partly to blame. Zezen (talk) 15:15, 19 December 2015 (UTC)

Zezen; It's all good, on Wikipedia its all trial and error which you come to learn the easy way or the hard way. If your intentions are good (but may be questioned by others), try letting other know before any conflicts arise and try to keep a neutral point (and if you have any questions you can always ask anyone on Wikipedia for advice on what to do and what not to do). I know it can be stressful as others may not like it the way others edit, but we all try to do our best. Adog104 Talk to me 15:54, 19 December 2015 (UTC)
Sigh, believe me I tried the usual channels, e.g on Teahouse see here, but nobody replied, as you can see, alas. (A joint WP:ANI intervention was more successful a month ago at protection against hopping IPs.)
It is a tad complicated by now, see the Noticeboard report evolution, where Nec hercules contra plures seems to be developing. I need to log off and have a walk by now. Zezen (talk) 16:26, 19 December 2015 (UTC)
Alrighty then, you can always try again there is no limits to who you can ask (and if the Teahouse doesn't help because of the stream of questions, you could always ask an admin or another user directly on their talk page). Also some advice, a Wikibreak or two is always the right choice when you become vexed as I usually do when I become ignored, annoyed, or just bored of editing. Cheers. I have unreviewed a page you curated

Hi, I'm Ueutyi. I wanted to let you know that I saw the page you reviewed, DJ Martin, and have un-reviewed it again. If you have any questions, please ask them on my talk page. Thank you. Ueutyi (talk) 00:45, 3 January 2016 (UTC)

Hi there, I have declined speedy deletion of this article. While it still requires cleanup, I think the notability problems cited in the previous AfD have been improved by the citation of a notable (?) award, so a deletion attempt should go through a new AfD. Happy editing, —Kusma (t·c) 10:30, 7 January 2016 (UTC)

Canadian?

Your user page makes no hint but are you Canadian, particularly Western Canadian? Whiskeymouth (talk) 01:09, 2 May 2016 (UTC)

Whiskeymouth; not particularly, more Floridian (I'm going for a Wiki-re-boot at the moment). Anyways the point is, I know others are possibly WP:BITING you at the moment, but I would like to see both sides assume good faith rather than have this back-and-forth behind each others backs kind of thing. I'm going to prescribe some WP:WIKILOVE (or a WP:WIKIBREAK) to you, SoftLavender, and Winkelvi so that you guys can talk this out later and hopefully come to a consensus. :) Cheers. Adog104 Talk to me 01:58, 2 May 2016 (UTC)
I'm no idiot. If you are from Florida, then you must have been influenced by the large number of Canadian snowbirds that go to Florida every year. See, I can detect subtle differences in behavior, language, etc. As for Winkelvi, he has been blocked for the 9th time and for 1 month. I assume good faith but 9 times may suggest either very bad luck or chronic bad behavior. I do not twist the knife, though, as I will, as a token of good faith self block myself (not a formal block, just a simulated one) and not edit for several days. I'll start either today or tomorrow.Whiskeymouth (talk) 03:05, 2 May 2016 (UTC)
Whiskeymouth: Although right about Canadians visitations to Florida [1], the influence statement is not correct whatsoever; I'm gonna go on a limb and say you can't detect behavior in text because... its text, there's no emotion in text, it's what people determine it as. And about Winkelvi, I wouldn't throw my cards on the table and blame him for everything because of recent actions, he isn't totally to blame. There are many reasons why he could've been banned 9 times, for instance, hes been on Wikipedia longer than we have, which is a simple reason*. Just please refrain from in-civil comments (WP:IUC), thank you. Adog104 Talk to me 22:16, 2 May 2016 (UTC)
In Wikipedia, people make conclusions about behavior all the time and block. However, I will show sympathy for WV even though he has not treated me so kindly. In sympathy, I will stop editing for a week or at least a few days. Whiskeymouth (talk) 04:35, 3 May 2016 (UTC)
Very true as attitudes are changing constantly and unexpectedly, but thank you for understanding. Adog104 Talk to me 12:38, 3 May 2016 (UTC)

SCW & ISIL sanctions notice

Please read this notification carefully, it contains important information about an administrative situation on Wikipedia. It does not imply any misconduct regarding your own contributions to date.

A community decision has authorised the use of general sanctions for pages related to the Syrian Civil War and the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, such as 2016 Orlando nightclub shooting, which you have recently edited. The details of these sanctions are described here. All pages that are broadly related to these topics are subject to a one revert per twenty-four hours restriction, as described here.

General sanctions is a system of conduct regulation designed to minimise disruption in controversial topic areas. This means uninvolved administrators can impose sanctions for edits relating to these topics that do not adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, our standards of behaviour, or relevant policies. Administrators may impose sanctions such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks. An editor can only be sanctioned after he or she has been made aware that general sanctions are in effect. This notification is meant to inform you that sanctions are authorised in these topic areas, which you have been editing. It is only effective if it is logged here. Before continuing to edit pages in these topic areas, please familiarise yourself with the general sanctions system. Don't hesitate to contact me or another editor if you have any questions.

Your recent edits seem to have violated the 1RR restriction on ISIL-related articles GreyShark (dibra) 18:36, 12 June 2016 (UTC)

The user I just said was a publicist for Salmin Swaggz on the article's talk page just changed his user page. I don't think he knows that page history is a thing on Wikipedia! Maybe he's trying to cover up?--Cubs197 07:01, 20 June 2016 (UTC)

Cubs197; Seems like it and I find that hilarious. He said he has more coming soon, so I would watch if he re-creates any articles about "Salmin Swaggz and the OMG Tanzania". He seems a bit persistent about making them have an article. Adog104 Talk to me 07:06, 20 June 2016 (UTC)
Do you think adding {{COI}} and {{Connected contributor}} goes over the line? Because I just added them.--Cubs197 07:20, 20 June 2016 (UTC)
Cubs197; Probably not. In truth he is connected to the person in question (whether that's him or not) and it will probably be deleted like the other autobiographies. Adog104 Talk to me 07:25, 20 June 2016 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

The Original Barnstar
Hello! InternetFactChecker (talk) 14:10, 26 June 2016 (UTC)
Hi InternetFactChecker, I'm assuming you posted a hello for me marking your Image link article for a speedy. In that I would recommend checking out what Wikipedia is not and to check out your first article for help and guidelines. Unfortunately I will not be accepting that Barnstar either, although tempting, I don't think I deserve it quite necessarily on behalf of marking your article. However if you need any help, just let me know! Adog104 Talk to me 14:19, 26 June 2016 (UTC)

I just want an apology. I understand now there are no How To's, but the page was not entirely a How To. I was only trying to help out the community. — Preceding unsigned comment added by InternetFactChecker (talkcontribs) 14:20, 26 June 2016 (UTC)

InternetFactChecker; every new editor never has a perfect A+ start (trust me, check my talk page), and you may find guidelines that you haven't known before and think are unfair; but if you want to know the basics of Wikipedia, you could always check out Wikipedia's five pillars and the links I already provided. If you see a speedy deletion as unfit, you may contest a speedy deletion on the articles talk page, and sorry, I cannot provide an apology for patrolling a page. Adog104 Talk to me 14:32, 26 June 2016 (UTC)

Well, maybe not an apology for patrolling, but one for a hasty decision. Couldn't you have just deleted the one or two lines that were in a How To format? Thank you for all your suggestions. They are a BIG help! — Preceding unsigned comment added by InternetFactChecker (talkcontribs) 14:43, 26 June 2016 (UTC)

Although possibly InternetFactChecker, the information didn't seem sufficient on its own and simply vague, but I could be wrong. However, Safiel has redirected your article to Hyperlinks as information about image linking can be already found there as another term. Another suggestion, you should sign your comments by using the four tildes ~~~~ in order to sign your posts like my custom signature. --> Adog104 Talk to me 15:06, 26 June 2016 (UTC)

Your review

Hi I'm new and I just realized that you "reviewed" my page, but made no edit. What does it mean by "review"? --HamedH94 (talk) 16:35, 3 July 2016 (UTC)

HamedH94 -- Hi and welcome! Your page being "reviewed" means that another editor has patrolled it, which means that they have checked the article for any obvious problems. It's basically confirming your article does not violate any speedy or what Wikipedia is not criteria. If you need anything else just ask! Adog104 Talk to me 16:45, 3 July 2016 (UTC)

Dead By Daylight

Thank you for the advice that you gave me. But i would still want to ask. What if I put a reference from the website that I got it from, would it still be copyrighted? TheIronBoy17 (talk) 13:38, 5 July 2016 (UTC)

  • Sorry I didn't respond to this as fast as I could. To answer your question TheIronBoy17, no, unfortunately if you added the source where it came from (the website and YouTube video) it would still classify as copyright since it's still word-from-word from the source. However if you were able to paraphrase it, to make it into your own words, then it would be fine with the sources. If you need help with paraphrasing then I would suggest checking out Close paraphrasing or asking me for any further help!
  • Also a side suggestion, when submitting a comment make sure to use the four tildes ~~~~ to sign it. Adog104 Talk to me 15:24, 5 July 2016 (UTC)

Thank you very much for your kind help and information. And if I have more questions I will definitely ask you :) TheIronBoy17 (talk) 14:52, 6 July 2016 (UTC)

Thank you for the assistance and comment about Move vs Delete. I did take a peek at Move, but then thought it might raise a weird flag if I did, so thought sending up a flag for oversight would be best practice! Plus I was super tired and didn't want to leave it hanging out there incorrectly for the hours until I could look further at the Move or Rename process. Thank you! noranoodle (talk) 14:15, 6 July 2016 (UTC)

noranoodle; no problem and I don't blame you. Besides making the article "Move" won't send up any weird flags besides the fact from correcting a mistake in the title. I just found it funny that you PROD'd yourself for a title error. Adog104 Talk to me 15:06, 6 July 2016 (UTC)

  • Hi MasterPiece2016! Usually for newcomers like you (since you started on July 15, 2016), I would recommend making more main space edits before moving into new pages/recent edits/propose deletion patrolling since you seem to have only two main space edits so far. If it would help, I recommend checking out these links that may help you contribute to Wikipedia, how to develop an article, and touch up on the fundamentals of Wikipedia. Since I've seen you had some pages tagged for deletion maybe also check out your first article. After checking those links, maybe you could start as a Random Page Patroller if you really want to patrol pages and then work to the other patrols.
  • A side suggestion, make sure to use the four tildes (~~~~) to sign your comments! Hope this helped a bit! Adog104 Talk to me 06:24, 16 July 2016 (UTC)

You answered a question from Ving rhames in The Teahouse (and I see above too). I told this person it might not be a good idea to use the same name as a celebrity. I was surprised no one else did.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 17:56, 4 August 2016 (UTC)

Vchimpanzee; I don't know Ving Rhames the actor, (although checking his Wikipedia page I have seen some movies in his "Filmography", but the name doesn't ring a bell). First off, thank you for catching that, as I don't really check usernames unless they ring a bell. Second, if you could, try to contact an admin about the username so they can warn the user about renaming his username (although I'm not an expert and from what I've seen, they usually warn a user about their username and if they don't comply they usually block them until they rename their username). Thirdly, sorry I didn't respond ASAP, my Wifi was and is out for the next few days...so that limits my Wiki-usage. :/ Adog104 Talk to me 18:25, 4 August 2016 (UTC)

Casey Neistat

I have begun rewriting the page here: User:Nicnote/sandbox. I re-configured the "Videos and highlights" section. I deleted anything that was not covered in the news or was WP:FAN which is unfortunately still a huge problem with the wiki page (many trivial things are reported by the media, sigh...) Let me know what you think, I want to replace the section with what I have in my sandbox. Best, Nicnote (talk) 23:16, 19 August 2016 (UTC)

I moved the Nike campaign to the Advertising section and made everything chronological. I think it might be a better idea to not have all those sub-heads in the "Videos and highlights" section? Nicnote (talk) 23:21, 19 August 2016 (UTC)
  • Holy crap Nicnote; looking over it, it's a great improvement from all the clutter and mish-mashed information (minus the un-referenced material which will be fixed over time) from what it was before. Although there's the obvious mistakes (not from your edit, but the article itself) like spacing
"[56]Finn,[57]", maybe change "Videos and highlights" to "YouTube career" or something along the lines of that (up for discussion, to me its a funky title). And moving the Nike under Advert works, since it is an advert "movie" after all.
  • Now moving back, the WP:FAN stuff I see a lot around on YouTubers Wikipedia pages; it seems like the fans (with good intentions) like to do original research about their favorite YouTubers. Thank you for making that revision...so...User talk:Nicnote. All the best! Adog104 Talk to me 00:33, 20 August 2016 (UTC)
  • Wow, thanks a lot! Greatly appreciated! I was going to suggest something similar to "YouTube career" so that would work. Feel free to use my sandbox for any larger edits you are considering, however I will also continue to basically do whatever I did for that section for the whole article. Best, Nicnote • ask me a question • contributions 08:25, 20 August 2016 (UTC)

I tried to add a bit to the Casey Neistat section myself, not 100% sure this is where I should say this but I like informing people haha. By the way, don't give me a hard time about the "haha" in the last sentence not being correct grammar, I don't know if it's "that kind" of community here but it seems cool. GUHoyas777; It's fine if you show some sort of expression, I like using emoji's from Template:Emoji from time to time. From personal observations while being on here for a year, I don't think I know any Wikipedian that dislikes showing some sort of emotion, whether they're being sarcastic, angry, happy, etc.. – Also I thought your inclusion was great and appreciable, it was sourced and provided mention to one of his viral videos. Keep up the good work! 👍 (Also make sure to only sign with just four tildes 😁) Adog104 Talk to me 01:48, 16 October 2016 (UTC)

Doubtful of Bad Faith

Hey, I was about to revert user Mslynnski's edit on That Poppy but I don't think they were vandalizing. There's a lot of evidence reporting towards Poppy being an art instillation, pretty sure Mslynsski is just a new editor that doesn't know how to edit. Let's not bite the newbies here. Weegeerunner chat it up 18:34, 16 September 2016 (UTC)

Weegeerunner; Yeah, honest mistake, but it still would've been reverted as a BLP issue for unsourced material which I understand. I don't have as much time to check for mistakes because of my educational studies (which God help me is stressing me out a bit). But note I'm using ORES which set me off a bit, and with recent vandal/socks in the past month or two on "That Poppy" (see log and some of these) I just gave a warn 1 for vand just in case it was another account created just to have a one stop shop for OR/vand. Invitation from Wikipedia Asian Month 2016

Thanks for partipating Wikipedia Asian Month last year, and I hope you enjoy it. Last year, more than 7,000 articles contribute to Wikipedia in 43 languages in Wikipedia Asian Month, making us one of the largest event on Wikipedia. We will organize this event again in upcoming November, and would like to invite you join us again.

This year, we are lowering down the standards that you only need to create 4 (Four) articles to receive a postcard (new design), and articles only need to be more than 3,000 bytes and 300 words. We are also improving our postcard sending process, e.g. making the postcards right now, and collecting the address after the event ends without waiting other languges.

Wikipedians who create the most articles on each Wikipedia will be honored as "Wikipedia Asian Ambassadors". We will send you both digital copy, and a paper copy of the Ambassador certificate.

Thank you for considering! --AddisWang (talk)

FNaF Sister Location/Undoing my fixes

I fixed fake information about the protagonist of the game. His true name has not been confirmed and the only name given to him is Eggs Benedict. Calling him Mike because it says that name on the keypad would be like calling someone Samsung for using a Samsung phone, so I changed the name Mike on the page for Eggs, explaining his true name is not given in the game(at least for now). If you think calling him the first random name that appearts in the game is better than how is he referred to in-game, even though it's intentionally wrong, then leave Mike there, but I think Wikipedia does no need more mistaken information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.76.134.80 (talk) 21:03, 25 October 2016 (UTC)

188.76.134.80; Well it's not mistaken my fellow IP editor. There's a source listed behind the "Eggs Benedict" name listing the protagonist name as "Mike". Don't you think it's rather silly in a somewhat serious game to have a character as "Eggs Benedict"? Whether or not if you'd like, you can continue on the articles Talk Page if you want to further discuss the characters name or make a edit request with a reliable source provided. Review

Hi Adog104,
I just received a notice saying you reviewed my user page. Just curious: What does that mean? Do you check for some kind of illegal content? Hope my collection of moths is o.k. ... --Josy (talk) 08:29, 29 October 2016 (UTC)

Josy R; Sorry I haven't responded ASAP, kind of got distracted and deleted my first response. Anyhow; although there isn't a set definition for a page being "reviewed", and judging from my own personal experiences and from WP:NPPLOG, a page being reviewed means it has been checked for anything that may be considered for any Speedy Deletion or What Wikipedia is Not criteria by another editor. For instance, when checking a User Page, one may look for someone that may be using their page as a Webhost. Being reviewed just means that your page is all fine, and yes your moth collection is OK and no illegal content was found by this dog. If you need anything else feel free to ask! 'Congo River Rapids' rides

I wonder if the 'Congo River Rapids' and Busch Gardens Tampa#Congo rides are actually the same 'make' of ride? --220 of Borg 05:41, 31 October 2016 (UTC)

220 of Borg; Depends, but from what I've be looking at for the past few hours it seems to be too convoluted to be sure at the moment. From starting with Tampa Bay's local sources, they're connecting Busch Gardens Congo River Rapids and Thunder River Rapids Ride to the same manufacturer, which is presumed to be Intamin, the Swiss manufacturing company that popularized the ride. (ABC Action News) (10 News - WTSP) However, the company stated on their website and to NBC News that they were not involved in the manufactering or designing of the ride (Intamin) (NBC News); and that NBC News provided that "Parkz" had provided the information to which now their website states that the ride was designed by Dreamworld themselves along with Contracted Engineers. (Parkz)
In all, they're presuming that the Congo River Rapids at Busch Gardens is the same as the Thunder River Rapids Ride manufacturer (because of the similarities in makes and models), which Intamin denied having involvement in the making of Thunder Rapids which would make the claim of the same manufacturer irrelevant. At the moment, I can't find any sourcing that connects Busch Garden's Congo to Intamin or to the same make as Congo River Rapids at Alton Towers. But if you'd asked me, I would say that they're both the similar type of 'make' by the same company, but further sourcing is needed to prove this. Sorry if this was too long of an explanation. Adog104 Talk to me 01:19, 1 November 2016 (UTC)
I'm not 100% sure myself what I meant at that time about 'make'.
I think I was actually meaning the manufacturer. The design seems very similar: round 'raft', conveyor belt to lift it out of 'river' for loading/unloading etc. Probably no other 'practical' way to do a 'river rapids ride' of that type. Each one would presumably be custom made for each site so all somewhat different? You wouldn't think it would be too hard to determine the manufacture? Then again, if it was an in-house design, Dreamworld won't be crowing about it! Apparently their ride previously had a carousel or turntable arrangement so the rafts could be loaded/unloaded without leaving the water, possibly while still moving? This was removed due to "safety concerns".
The most interesting info on the Parkz website is the OR they present that the conveyor has been modified since install by removing (or cutting out most of) 2 out of every 3 'slats'. They have before/after video or pictures. WP:Commons has several pictures of similar conveyors, and all appear to be 'fully slatted'. (See the 'lift hill' pic on Congo River Rapids, MUCH different to Dreamworlds ride [2]) Only Dreamworld seems to have large gaps between conveyor slats.
From the ABC News picture of the accident, [3] it seems that the edge of the raft went into this gap, thus flipping it, at least on its 'side'. I wonder it it may possibly have initially turned completely over on top of the riders, then stood on end before the ride was halted. Note also the absence of 'roll bars' to protect the riders head. Very noticeable on the Congo River Rapids rafts, the 'bench' style (?) seat back only comes up to the shoulders on children! [4] See also diagram of Intamin made 'Snowy River Rampage' at the former Australia's Wonderland park. This seems to be common on these rides, expect that will change, soon. However see [5] Snowy River Rampage again, but with high backed seats, note also the close spaced conveyor slats. On Kali River Rapids rafts have: high seat backs, roll bars, and other safety equipment! [6] (Thanks to user:Loadmaster for pic)
IIRC Intamin invented this 'type' of water ride, but their WP page says very little about water ride, except in the 'incidents, section. (I see now you say they "popularized " it, hmm.) However, Category:Water rides manufactured by Intamin has about 35 listed, seems mostly unsourced.
Sorry if this was too long of a reply! TL;DR --220 of Borg 08:12, 1 November 2016 (UTC)
220 of Borg; Haha, and maybe Intamin's article needs a timely expansion? When I referred to the 'make' I assumed you meant design/manufacturer so don't worry. 😁 Also the more you read about it, the more it comes to light that this was probably an accident waiting to happen. That park seems to have rushed and cut operations, and something happened as a cause of that unfortunately. But like I said, we would need additional sourcing to confirm information about the ride and similar rides. Adog104 Talk to me 01:46, 2 November 2016 (UTC)
Agree, likely waiting to happen indeed. This would have to be one of the worst (?) accidents on a ride of this type, I did read about some amputations, not sure if on a water ride. List of incidents at independent amusement parks, and similar lists, makes sobering reading.
• In Oz "On June 9, 1979 (7 dead) 6 children and 1 adult died when Sydney’s Luna Park’s Ghost Train caught fire". (Not really a theme park, but a deadly ride)
• Worst anywhere? On May 11, 1984, at a haunted castle at the Six Flags Great Adventure park in New Jersey a fire engulfed the attraction. "..8 teenagers trapped inside to be charred beyond all recognition."
“The number of deaths on an amusement ride is one in 834 million rides. Aeroplanes is one in 125 million rides. You go scuba diving and that’s one in 200,000 dives,” he [an engineer] told ABC radio on Wednesday." - source this statement & all above incidents- The worst amusement ride accidents both here and abroad news.com.au, 27 October 201612)
See also now out of date Cory Barclay (06.12.14) 10 Deadliest Theme Park Accidents of All Time
The ride certainly does not seem fail-safe. Without high seats or roll bars, as on some rafts, getting inverted on a conveyor seems a certain way to get head injuries. Won't be surprised if that is the cause of deaths at Dreamworld (Just speculating, not OR-ing!)
I would predict, that ride will never open again, the park might not re-open, Ardent Leisure may be in big financial trouble, and their CEO may be out if nothing else. This is without assuming possible criminal negligence charges.
These amusement parks, ride and park 'sections' are surprisingly well covered on WP, but as you say, are not well sourced. There seem to be a few 'ride spotter' editors who put a lot of AGF info in without sourcing. --220 of Borg 05:58, 2 November 2016 (UTC)

New Page Review - newsletter

Hello Adog,
Breaking the back of the backlog
We now have 819 New Page Reviewers! Most of you requested the user right to be able to do something about the huge backlog. Now it's time for action.
Mid July to 01 Oct 2016

If each reviewer does only 10 reviews a day over five days, the backlog will be down to zero and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!
Let's get that over and done with in time to relax for the holidays.

Second set of eyes

Not only are New Page Reviewers the guardians of quality of new articles, they are also in a position to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged for deletion and maintenance and that new authors are not being bitten. This is an important feature of your work. Read about it at the new Monitoring the system section in the tutorial.

Getting the tools we need - 2016 WMF Wishlist Survey: Please vote

With some tweaks to their look, and some additional features, Page Curation and New Pages Feed could easily be the best tools for patrollers and reviewers. We've listed most of what what we need at the 2016 WMF Wishlist Survey. Voting starts on 28 November - please turn out to make our bid the Foundation's top priority. Potatoboy23; That's all good. And possibly, I would say try to provide some reliable sources/quoted references with it and add it to the Plot section where needed. However, I would cut back on the excessive detail since there seems to be a lot of it, which may need to be cut down in the future either by deleting unsourced material or by simplifying details. Escape the Night

Hey, it's me. I'm the one who keeps editing the Escape the Night page. Before, it was just a list of all the episodes: I added an episode summary for each, as well as a breakdown of who is chosen for potential elimination, who dies, how they die, and how many guests are left. I don't see how this is disruptive. Several other pages have something similar. Thank you for your time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.134.15.243 (talk) 18:09, 24 December 2016 (UTC)

Hello IP, and first off I appreciate the honesty and kindness. Next, its not so much as the editing content being disruptive, but both of us going back and forth by reverting each others edits is what was disruptive (WP:EW). Although I do understand the importance of such tables for episode descriptions, those formats are usually not on the main article of such web or television shows, as they can be seen as lengthy and can be broken off into their own separate articles when allowed. Some examples of these tables used in summary articles include Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (season 1), List of The 100 episodes, Family Guy (season 5), etcetera, etcetera. That's why I've tried to maintain the simple format of episode listing on the main page, unless someone would care the create a new article listing the episodes such as List of ''Escape the Night'' episodes (although I'm not sure two seasons would cut it for a new article, but one could try if warranted). Sorry on my end for being quite a bother (or angry) if I seemed this way to you, it's Christmas Eve and it's hasty around. 😓 Adog104 Talk to me 18:30, 24 December 2016 (UTC)

IP... I've been stressed but I'm trying to have a clear mindset replying here so beg with me as I'm not trying to be harsh. Let's start from your comments right here: first you don't tell others what to do, this isn't your Wikipedia and no one owns their edits, second, I agree we should keep the format of season one until season two hits since there is no further reliable sourcing to provide any sort of changes as of now. However, what I am really upset about is what's in your edit summary on the articles talk page here because you've included that I said quote "it must refelct season one as its the one that aired", which I've never stated nor intended. But let me make some point here:
  • I'm happy that you're being bold in your edits, although undoing an edit just because you lost your progress isn't a valid reason to revert, discussing the matter is more appropriate when having a dispute because it will most likely lead to consensus,
  • I understand the edits you've made, and they're great additions, however I deleted some of it as they're 1) already included somewhere else in the article or 2) it doesn't fit in the format quite well (i.e. caps, "/"s, boxing format),
  • You're more than welcome to help edit the article, just please discuss any problems on the talk page without blaming other editors as you did with me, it's not appropriate most of the time.
  • If you want, you may ask another editor to come and discuss with us on what to do as another may have better opinions/knowledge of the topic.
Thank you. Adog104 Talk to me 19:23, 3 February 2017 (UTC)

New Page Review - newsletter No.2

Hello Adog,
A HUGE backlog

We now have 819 New Page Reviewers!
Most of us requested the user right at PERM, expressing a wish to be able to do something about the huge backlog, but the chart on the right does not demonstrate any changes to the pre-user-right levels of October.

Hitting 17,000 soon

The backlog is still steadily growing at a rate of 150 a day or 4,650 a month. Only 20 reviews a day by each reviewer over the next few days would bring the backlog down to a managable level and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!
It didn't work in time to relax for the Xmas/New Year holidays. Let's see if we can achieve our goal before Easter, otherwise by Thanksgiving it will be closer to 70,000.

Second set of eyes

Remember that we are the only guardians of quality of new articles, we alone have to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged by non-Reviewer patrollers and that new authors are not being bitten.

Abuse

This is even more important and extra vigilance is required considering Orangemoody, and

  1. this very recent case of paid advertising by a Reviewer resulting in a community ban.
  2. this case in January of paid advertising by a Reviewer, also resulting in a community ban.
  3. This Reviewer is indefinitely blocked for sockpuppetry.

Coordinator election

Kudpung is stepping down after 6 years as unofficial coordinator of New Page Patrolling/Reviewing. There is enough work for two people and two coords are now required. Details are at NPR Coordinators; nominate someone or nominate yourself. Date for the actual suffrage will be published later.

Review/Patrol

I've created from yesterday more pages for football players that made their debut in Liga I. Some of them were not reviewed/patrolled by anyone and some of them were reviewed by users that don't understand what minimal information must have a football player page and I had some problems that some of them were marked wrong for speedy deletion. So...Can you please review/patrol all of the pages that have not been. Rhinen

Rhinen; Depends if I would have enough time as of now. Other editors may mistaken them as insufficient or not having established importance and lots of articles will go unpatrolled because of the backlog (note the message above), other editors needing a second opinion, or editors aren't sure. Although for football articles I'm weary as most that appear in New Pages don't have any sources and look equally the same and I'm not a particular editor who specializes in those types of articles. A1 is not an appropriate rationale for deletion on this article. There is context. A person (a very quick Google search showed him to be a living person), with an uncommon name was referred to as a serial killer. This should have been G10, both because A1 is not correct and tagging a page G10 automatically blanks it. Please be careful about which CSD tags you use. Very few attempts at articles are A1. John from Idegon; Hence why I don't patrol much these days because of my small mistakes (unless its because of the backlog). However I suspect it could be A1 as the examples provided were simply what the editor had stated ("He is a funny man with a red car. He makes people laugh" via Twinkle). To note, I did look up the person before I tagged and found it just as a name, not pointing to anyone in particular (as the White Pages provides 742 matches being the first source), again therefore why it was tagged A1. Not to be truculent but the note and revert was enough to get the point across. Adog104 Talk to me 00:43, 6 February 2017 (UTC)
If you had dug a bit deeper, you'd seen his edit history revolves around Port Huron, Michigan. My first hit on Google was a LinkedIn profile of a man in Port Huron. There is a huge difference between "He's funny" and "He's a serial killer". NPP was made a user right because the community deems it an important enough activity that those who engage in it need to be vetted. Some were grandfathered in. However, along with vetting, a user right provides a means to prevent someone from engaging in an activity too. If you can seriously equate the libalous statement "He's a serial killer" with "He's funny", perhaps you should consider whether you are a suitable person to have this right. John from Idegon; Way to be aggressive. I was grandfathered in as well, which doesn't make me special in anyway, but it means I take this seriously. Although if you want to go this far and imply that I'm not taking this seriously and I'm unsuitable because of a simple mistake, then you may start a discussion at WP:ANI per what WP:PERM has to say about rights removal. Until then I will be offline attending to education matters. Thank you. Adog104 Talk to me 01:25, 6 February 2017 (UTC)

In this case, we would use the name commonly used, and as for the Draft, you can at least start a user sandbox for it, and see how that goes. From the sourcing, it seems there would be enough for good context. SwisterTwister talk 19:22, 12 February 2017 (UTC)

SwisterTwister; Alrighty then, thank you very much for your response. Adog104 Talk to me 20:02, 12 February 2017 (UTC)

"right or wrong"

"YouTube Stars' Defense of PewDiePie Is Bullshit". Gizmodo.: Not a forum, that's just what the news labeled it, right or wrong. - Your response

It's unfortunate we consider them a reliable resource than, while others are dismissed for purely political reasons. This website has a disease and I don't see it ever being cured with this attitude towards unprofessionalism. 70.44.154.16 (talk) 02:01, 17 February 2017 (UTC)

My statement seems right, per what WP:FORUM says, as the talk page of an article shouldn't be expressed as a thought forum for people to express on that's not related to the overall topic.
Although I do sympathize with you about sourcing referring to Felix as an anti-semitic and beating down on him because YouTube's still a new thing to many. Your statement about Gizmodo is a different story as I don't have any preference towards it since I don't read it (personally when editing it always to have a set neutrality on mind regardless of personal opinion, its always the best to stay neutral); and that even can be said about any other website such as Wired stating on Twitter "White supremacists have a new hero, and his name is PewDiePie" for their news headline which I find disappointing. It's mainly important for media nowadays to fully research and understand their topics they're creating, however some may make a mistake and try their best to rush a product out before reviewing. Still a MASSIVE backlog

We now have 819 New Page Reviewers but despite numerous appeals for help, the backlog has NOT been significantly reduced.
If you asked for the New Page Reviewer right, please consider investing a bit of time - every little helps preventing spam and trash entering the mainspace and Google when the 'NO_INDEX' tags expire.
