Qld electoral changes

Hi, AcrateofTuna! I appreciate that the Qld electorates being redistributed, but those changes don't take legally effect until the next election and unfortunately the infobox can't accommodate both the current and future electorates. There has been a discussion about the appropriate timing to update the articles (hundreds of Qld articles are likely to be affected by the redistribution) and it was decided to do it en masse once the next Qld election date has been set. I'm not 100% in favour of that decision (because it creates a lot of work to be done very quickly) but we make decisions in Wikipedia by consensus. While what you have done with the footnote is not unreasonable in isolation, because we will probably automate (or semi-automate) the task of updating when the election comes around, the risk of having any "non-standard" approach (like your solution) may break the automated approach and not update. So can I suggest putting your attention on other updates to Wikipedia rather than the new electoral redistributions at this time. Thanks Kerry (talk) 22:48, 13 September 2017 (UTC)
