Sockpuppet fun

Just noticed your tagging of 165.155.192.79. Given his recent contributions were basically wandering from talkpage to talkpage declaring who he was, I reasoned that he's out looking for attention. I kinda decided consciously not to tag the IP's talk page just because that's giving him the attention he was asking for - I felt it was far better to just revert all his posts and block him for generic vandalism, hence denying recognition. LoL! That's definitely been my feeling this week. Set up a blog and ran into just how much of a nightmare it would be to make it even semi-functional (lotsa added features and widgets) under IE6. At least I've got it working on newer ones. So... I opted for a big splash screen (for IE6 users) telling them to get a better browser. :-) ROBERTMFROMLI TALK/CNTRB 23:18, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
I know, I'm planning on a new userpage design and I'll probably have to spend an extra hour making backup code for IE (I'm using fancy stuff like multilayered box shadows and radial gradients) and another 3 hours rewriting the code for each variant of the vendor codes. I'm pretty sure IE9 actually implements CSS3 pretty well. (I am a Firefox fan, but I test my web pages with other browsers to see if they work right.) If you're trying to make a user page, your use of CSS is pretty limited, as you can only add CSS to style attributes of HTML tags; I think the only way of "making backup code for IE" is by stuffing multiple CSS rules into the same HTML element, as you cannot do JavaScript detection or conditional comments. Well that didn't go exactly as planned...
I'm sorry that your RfA didn't work out that well. You're clearly a good editor, and you didn't deserve to get slaughtered so unceremoniously. RfA tends to pile on a disproportionate amount of negative energy as to what is required. That being said, the community has spoken. I've prepared an essay offering advice on second RfAs. Please read it, and see if you find it helpful. I think that one day, you'll make a good admin. This will give you something to focus on in the mean time. I hope so, but I still can't believe someone suggested redirecting the RFA to WQA- that editor has over 100000 edits and should now better. And at this rate it'll take all night to spread the thank spam because my stupid iPhone is randomly reloading the RFA page every time I jump away from it which makes it take forever to go to each talk page link and substitute the thankspam template. :( Access Denied – talk to me 07:52, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
With a bit more time and experience, I can see you being a successful RfA candidate. November 2010 backlog elimination drive update

Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors Backlog Elimination Drive!
GOCE November 2010 backlog elimination drive progress graphs

We have reached the midway point in our backlog elimination drive, so here is an update.

Participation report — The November drive has 53 participants at this point. We had 77 participants in the September drive. In July, 95 people signed up for the drive, and in May we had 36. If you are not participating, it is not too late to join!

Progress report — The drive is quite successful so far, as we have already almost reached our target of a 10% reduction in the number of articles in the backlog. We are doing very well at keeping our Requests page clear, as those articles count double for word count for this drive.

Please keep in mind the possibility of removing other tags when you are finished with an article. If the article no longer needs {{cleanup}}, {{wikify}}, or other similar maintenance tags, please remove them, as this will make the tasks of other WikiProjects easier to complete. Thanks very much for participating in the Drive, and see you at the finish line!

I hate to barge in on this, but I highly think that this would not be a good idea this fast after a first attempt. Maybe in about 3-5 months this would be ok, but for certain not right now.
