should we include articles that don't exist?[edit]

Hi, Accelerometer. I finished the cleanup of Blit that you began. In response to your question, "should we include articles that don't exist?", the answer according to MOS:DISAMBIG is generally no. I think they can sometimes be useful so I let my judgment decide whether to enforce that guideline or not. I err on the side of leniency. Others are more strict. In any case, one important guideline for disambiguation pages is that usually only the main page should be wikilinked and not terms in the descriptive text supporting it. This is to keep the primary purpose of a disambiguation page being for redirection to an article. Superflous links clutter that up and make it unclear for some users where to go. Many terms of the descriptive text will usually be linked at the article anyhow. Jason Quinn (talk) 17:40, 29 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much for the information! I guess I should start perusing the MOS a little deeper. Accelerometer T / C 03:28, 2 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Glad to hear you're returning. When it expires, please be careful and try not to get blocked yet again... (At some point I'd like to move the wiki off Wikia.) Accelerometer T / C 23:31, 17 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
